Well, I think Aeris's Theme from FF7 and Melodies of Life from FF9 are both amazing pieces of music... They don't necessarily make me sad, but they're just so beautiful and powerful. When I'm feeling sappy, I love listening to them. ^_^

Forever Rachel from FFVI always makes me sad ;_;. It's amazing that it's just a different arrangement of Locke's theme, and that version is so light and happy!

Oh, and Fithos Lusec Wenos Vinosec (I bet I spelled something wrong in there XD) always freaks me out. SO creepy ^^;;.

NOBUO UEMATSU-SAMA IS A GOD!

Krhm, now that we got that out of the way... ^_^ Getting sad just because I hear a sad song in the game, yup, that happens to me a lot. I'm so connected with the musics, you see. ^_^ For instance To Zanarkand is one of these very emotional songs. So is the Hymn of the Fayth. It does sooth the soul. Maybe I'd be a good Yu Yevonist. ^_^ Also the "Sight of Spira" (in the game it's called Spira Unplugged) is a very soothing song. And Calm Before the Storm! I love listening to it. In FFIX there are too many to count; Dagger Cuts Her Hair, Goodbye to the Black Mages, An Unforgettable Face, Dissipating Sorrow, Terra, Bittersweet Romance... Uematsu-sama really has a way to touch one's heart with his music.

The music composed are specially designed for an effect. Plus with association with characters make them memorable. Each is pretty unique and the concepts change with each game. Each has a mood, an atmosphere, and an idea.

I love FF music, and some will forever stay in my heart.

Aeris's Theme is what made me cry during her death. Well...and the fact she had died ^^ (yes, I'm an Aeris fan and proud ^^) During FFX's sending, the Hymn of Fayth was very haunting, and it brings chills to my spine. To Zanarkand was a very beautiful, yet simple piece.

Forever Rachel and Epitaph are among two of my favorite FFVI songs. They're both wonderfully composed, and instruments used in the arranged version of Forever Rachel was awesome. I also love the Coin Song arrangement. ^^

FF5 has some very haunting pieces of music, the second overworld theme and the different themes played in flashbacks and cut scenes stand out here. and everytime I hear Dear Friends I get sad...

I recently wrote about this in my journal... ;-; oh yes trhe game music can make me so sad! The most recent sad tune is the one from Kingdom Hearts on the first menu screen. Aeris' theme is another that gets me sad. On the other hand, some of the themes really get me pumped up ^^

"one winged angel" orchestra version always gets me pumped >D Sephiroth is my master!!! *cough*

But yeah, "Hymn of the Fayth" is very beautiful. To bad it's so short. I like listening to "My Gagazet" too. I get a feeling of lonliness and desolation, of cold. I like it ^_^

I've always found "Breezy" from FF8 to bevery calming. I like listening to it with the windows open when the sun is out. And of COURSE "Eyes on Me" gives me that lovey dovey feeling. It's such a touching song, ne. The beginning of "Final Battle" is cool, too. Very evil.

And yes, the KH opening screen is something I like to listen to. After I beat the game and listened to the song and the sound of the waves.... whyyy??? ;_;

Aerith's Theme = cry.

'Nuff said.

No, it's not. I need to say more. Yes, To Zanarkand was one of the most moving things I had ever heard in my life. When I played FFX for the first time and saw that opening scene, I just started crying. It was so beautiful.

Wandering Flame always gets me too. All I can see in my head is that probably 0.5 seconds where that big white wave of nothing but evil power washes over the crusaders and you just see them smashed to nothingness, little pieces of black splattered across a blank screen.. I think that probably actually gave me more of a grasp on the actual concept of nothingness when I saw that.. what the true death of something could be like.

"Suteki da Ne" and "Eyes On Me" are both very beautiful pieces. Both songs have such a strong meaning in their words. When I explained the meaning behind the songs to my friend Kindra, she cried. And the ending theme to Final Fantasy X was so well composed. As was Aeris's Theme.

"1000 Words" also is stirring as well. After I read the translation, it made me feel sad. I put that emotion into it whenever I sing it.

Yea Aeris' theme is really sad. I also like ALL the music in FFX and FFIX's Melodies of Life was really good. I also liked Cele's theme from FFVI and most of the Overworld music from FFII-FFVII and FFIX.

You'll probably think I am horrible, but I did not cry when Aeris died. I didn't like her much as a character I'm afraid. Please don't jump down my throat!

Anyhow, IMO Forever Rachel from FFVI takes the cake. The wistfulness conveyed by the piece combined with the story behind it was almost too much to bear! Everytime I hear that piece, my heart feels like it is going to break into a million pieces >.< The Coin Song was also very good, as was when they combined Locke's/Celes' themes at the end.

I also highly enjoyed Eyes on Me from FFVIII. I love singing that song ^_^

Hymn of the Fayth was excellent. It's very soothing to hum.

My friend pointed out something I didn't notice... the "theme" for all FFX songs is a version of that Final Fantasy Opera song.

Horray for FF music lovers!

For me, it's:
FF8 - Liberi Fatali, My Mind (Rinoa's theme), Eyes on Me, Fithos Lusec Wecos Vinosec, Ami, Find Your Way, and the Ending Theme

FF9 - Itsuka Kaeru Tokoro (The place I always return to?), Vamo' alla flamenco, Eternal Harvest, Hitori ja nai (You are not alone), and that whole bunch of music towards the end

FF10 - At Zanarkand, Otherworld, Watashi wa toberu (I can fly/I fly?), Suteki da ne, Hymn of the Fayth... I haven't gotten to the end yet, so that's all the music I've gotten to

And the Prelude that is in all the FFs is always a must.

As for Kingdom Hearts... the opening menu screen music, "Dearly Beloved", is my favorite, next to "Hikari" and "Destati"..
As much as I like "Hikari", "Simple and Clean" just doesn't give me the same feeling as "Hikari". The meanings are so different.

Aeris's Song, Interrupted by Fireworks and Eyes on Me.... ;-; I was playing FFVII when Aeris died, and my little brother was sitting on my lap watching (I had no idea it was going to happen or I probably wouldn't have let him). We were both bawling for like... ten minutes... and I had to pause the game. >_<; It makes it even worse when kids cry.

Ahhh, Serria, I love Interrupted by Fireworks! Oh, the whole FF7 soundtrack was awesome...

I also like the FF4 Ending theme...

Actually, I can play Interrupted by Fireworks on piano (along with Aeris, Tifa, and Yuffie's theme). Yeah, I got the sheet music and everything... maybe I'm a geek, but it's all so pretty! *_*

I tear up a little every time I hear the "main theme". I've been loving the games since the first one came out, and hearing it is like coming home.

I also get creeped out every time I hear the Calbrena music from FFIV, because of a certain incident when I was younger involving that scene and a windowshade right beside where I was sitting to play the game... -_-

The Extreme from FFVIII also makes me tear up a little. Yes, the final boss theme. The quiet parts are just so beautiful... and then they kick in the FF battle theme bassline, which had been absent all through the game until then, and it was one of those moments where you just knew "Okay, now it gets serious."

(And for the record, I didn't cry at Aeris... for one thing, I've never cried at a video game, even when Vagrant Story ripped apart my soul with its ending. But the main reason was... I've been playing since the NES/SNES era. FFIV was my favorite game. I honestly assumed Aeris would just be discovered to be alive or revived within a couple hours of gameplay. Then I got to disc three, and realized "Er... this looks like the final dungeon, and she's still not here... Hmm, guess she really is dead." :D)

"Suteki da Ne"- when i hear that song, i think of the whole game and how sad it is. even the way she sings it makes me feels she's longing. ^^

"prelude (main theme)"- that one i LOVE. it's a reoccurring theme in most of the games. it's the harp going up and down the scales. i close my eyes when i listen to it... it makes me feel like i'm drifting away to another place. so soothing.

ps- sad when aeris died?! LMAO! not me. i was so happy. that girl was trying to get with tifa's man! that slut! ::winks::
