Alrighty, I plan on making a 13th Order trench coat from Kingdom Hearts for Halloween this year. The thing is I don't know where to begin. If anyone has made this trench coat before could you please help me with my questions?

1. What material should I use? (Note: I would like a good, sturdy material that can last through weather conditions. I.E.: I would like to wear it when it's raining.)

2. Is there a pattern somewhere, out there that is available? And if no, if there any patterns that I could buy a modify?

3. And anything else you would like to add. :bigtu:

If there's a thread already created for this - sorry. Please point me in the right direction. Also I DO NOT want to BUY the trench coat - I rather make it.

EDIT: Thank you for the help! I have a pattern of a 'Matrix' trenchcoat and a hood pattern. Material to be used is still up in the air... but I'll probably use pleather (if I get a good price for it).

Pleather is the best material to use for the coat, since it gives off the exact look of them.

If pleather is too expensive, poplin would be a good choice too. Poplin also gives you a bit more ventilation so you're not as hot as you would be with pleather...

you should also try vinal, it is really good for rainy weather, you may want to add a lineing. You could, ask the people at the counter what is a good lineing to use under it, then if it gets hot, it won't get stuck to your arms.here is a pattern you can alter to make a hood:
