I'm just curious as to what everyone BOUGHT at the con!

I think i cleaned up a lil bit. I went not really having anything in mind to buy, n ended up leaving with tones of goodies!

I picked up a set of those latex bat wings everyone was walking around in, and a tail, AND the Bra! All crimson and black! SO NICE! and POSABLE!

I also picked up Ed's pocket-watch which came in a really cute tin, and with a necklace.

Ed's coat ( got a really sweet deal on it n couldnt resist)

An Ed and an Al Plushy (LOVE EM!) NOW I WANT A SCAR AND LUST ONE!!

and A Lust action Figure (i SO need a scar one now to go with it!!!!!)

That's all i can remember buying :p

Anyone else?

All I bought was a Digi Charat hat for 30 bucks, my friends said I got riped off. I was going to buy ears for my Mint from Galaxy Angel costume but the lowest the dealer would go was 50 bucks, my sister said she was trying to ripe me off too because before when she asked it was only 30 dollars.

Before the con, I already knew which posters and comics I want to get.
So I only did that. Did not buy any other things since I feel more satisfied holding on to my cash. I did find a super cheap deal on a digital camera on Friday before the con, so I got myself a new DC($57 only). This new toy is lots of fun at the con. I did accidently deleted one picture though but that's ok.

Ah, no dealer would let me haggle their prices down! Some stuff they were selling wasn't worth nearly HALF the price they were selling for, like these keychain thingies going for $5! Anyhow, here's my stash:

-Autographed photo of Brent Spiner (for my dad)
-Poster of wedding Yuna (for my sis)
-Kuroneko (for me)
-A Red vs Blue t-shirt that says "It's not pink. It's lightish red!" (also for me)

I wasn't given very much money, so my stash is pretty small, but full of sentimental value! ^^

Mostly manga 'cause everything else I can buy in china town or the Pecific Mall for A LOT less..heehee I'm so cheap. I did get a Konha ring for three buck *huggies ring* i love it even if it's turning my finger green! lol.

I bought a book from some horror guest--it sounded pretty darn interesting as she was explainin' the storyline. She signed it too (to moku! lol)

I managed to haggle a fair bit. I got everything I bought for 'discounted' through haggling and I didn't pay to get in to the convention so yay XD

Chrno Crusade Vol 1 - 6 (Manga)
Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicles Vol 5 and 6 (Manga)
DNAngel Vol 1 (DVD)
Furi Kuri Vol 3 (DVD)
Naruto poster of Sasuke, Itachi, Neji, and of course, Kiba.
Inuyasha poster of Kagome/Inuyasha

Sunday is the best day to haggle but they don't always have stock left or it'll sell fast if they do. As I found out by waiting too long from one table to buy my Chrno Crusade mangas >_>

Mostly manga 'cause everything else I can buy in china town or the Pecific Mall for A LOT less..heehee I'm so cheap.I concur!! XD

I only bought 2 manga to tide me over until Ohayocon when I can buy manga for even cheaper than $10/each cause of exchange rate happys. I also still have many more from Otakon (for less than $9/each cause of happy exchange rate) that I haven't gotten around to reading yet. -_-;;

I bought a crapload of Hello! Project/Morning Musume cd's from the booth that sold the little figurenes (I think they're called nac) They had a good selection of j-pop cds that weren't bootlegs or overseas copys, allllll offical :D. Prices were pretty good too although a lot of them are used but in decent condtion. Anyhow I'm rambleing, I'm just happy there was a table that sold the stuff I wanted :D They were nice enough to give me a free cd since I bought so much from them XD;;;

Lets see, what did I get...

- Naruto Manga 1-4
- Red vs Blue DVDs 1 & 2 (signed)
- Tshirt that has Super Mario on it and it says "Everyone loves and Italian boy" (Yes I am Italian so it works).
- Now & Then, Here and There DVDs 2-3 for $10 each which is uber cheap for this amazing series (got Disc 1 free last year, so $20 for the entire series is a steal)
- Wind Named Amnesia DVD - got this for free at the screening of that hide and seek movie (forgot the name) and it's "suppose" to be ok. It's a free DVD, so it's loot :D

Overall, I didn't spend much, but walked away quite happy.

I managed to get out with fairly no problems with only a Vol 3 of Clamp no Kiseki.

Danners: How was Hide and Seek, friend of my did the ADR directing on it and said the story was pretty cool but I haven't had a chance to watch it. btw Wind Named Amensia isn't too bad if I remember correctly... its been a long time since I have seen it.

I bought...nothing! In fact, I was only able to do a quick turn around the dealers room to search out the Canadian Browncoats fan table, and stop to get a picture with Adam Baldwin. And then Kevin Sorbo, because he was at the next table and was having so darn much fun that I couldn't help it.

I would have liked to pick up the volumes of Alichino manga that I don't have, but alas, no time to search them out or go bargain-hunting.

A Rue Morgue T-Shirt. (Rue Morgue is a Horror Magazine btw)
Two Tutorial tapes on advanced casting and latex techniques
I got a whole whack of freebies from an old school chum. He was one of the artists for the munchkin games and is also the writer and artist of some fairly well known comic books. (Look here if you're nosey (http://www.lethargiclad.com/index2.htm))

Cromartie high rocks!!!!!!!!!!!

Why didn't CN give a goodie bag when you registered this year? I didn't even get a plastic badge to put my badge in! Usually on reg you get some free stuff like manga and posters.

Kudou
08-31-2005, 11:20 PM
Hooray for Cromartie! :bigtu:

And I really doubt CN would even go through the trouble doing so. They want our money and they want us to spend more money, as crude as that may sound, its true. If they really wanted to give us a little more, we'd have our gift bags and more events.
I remember hearing at the AN volunteer meeting, that Anime North usually gives out their gift bags it because they have a huge list of 'generous' sponsors, Shonen Jump being one of them.

And about the plastics badge plastics or whatever, they give those at the counter where you buy your tickets. They're a dollar each but some of volunteers let you take a bunch because they could care less.

Why didn't CN give a goodie bag when you registered this year? I didn't even get a plastic badge to put my badge in! Usually on reg you get some free stuff like manga and posters.A lot of cons don't give you all the goodies in your bag, you have to go find it yourself in the dealers' room.

The only thing you really get from CN that's worth getting would be the limited edition lithograph. However, you need to buy an anime pass to get one, they only print 1000 of them and the quality and "limited edition"-ness has been going downhill.

4 CN's ago and before that, they used to have a Japanese manga/character designer draw a sketch or something cool to print. 2 years ago, it was done by Fred Gallagher which is still nice, but American (which isn't quite "anime" enough IMO). Last year it was Japanese guests, but they just printed an already made image (Texnolyze DVD vol 1 cover) and stamped numbers onto it. This year, it didn't even have anything to do with a guest (since it was a TM Revolution thing and the guests were Angela), nor was it any kind of a special image really. =/

I'm pretty used to not getting much in the reg bag and nabbing some nice tidbits from various booths handing out promo and free stuff. Didn't find much of that at CN this year either, but got me a couple of Ghost in the Shell posters that one of the booths was handing out, so I won't complain about anything else. XD

I coulda sworn a few years ago, they'd at least give you a bag and a program. This year, after getting turned around and lost in the lobby of all places, I finally found the desk with the programs. I was lucky my Yuna sleeves acted like huge pockets! XD

All I bought was a $2 FMA fan at Artist Alley. I dunno.. everything seemed like a ripp off to me. I can't believe they sell those Made In China artbooks which only cost $35RMB for $45 CAD! Way too over priced!!
I really wanted to get the FMA pocket watch to go with my Ed costume. They're pretty nice, but once I saw the Chinese on the box and the price... it totally turned me away. Grabbed a lot of freebies tho ^_^ (man.. i'm such a cheapass.. -_-)

yea, last year they gave u a goodies bag as soon as u got to the top of the escalator (but i find its only if u go up from the center escalator in the loby right infront of the doors) they have more room there.

This year they were just giving out posters, but no bag.

I didn't pay too much attention to the bag situation this year except that I noticed that there weren't any, but since volunteers sign in at the info desk, I just grabbed a program book from one of the boxes of the stuff they had in the back.

Normally the bags are provided by one of the sponsors and in the 3 years I've been going to CN it always appeared to be the same sponsor providing the bags. I don't know why this changed so suddenly this year, but I'm going to ask cause this is retarded. -_-;;
