I was wondering if anyone had done or seen Web Comic cosplays. My sister wants to do one, but feels self-conscious about it because she doesn't think people do them. I don't see why it matters, but it does to her so, I'd appreciate if anyone could point me to some examples :)

Yeah, baby, yeah!
I have done pretty much nothing BUT webcomic cosplay lately...
Teneko from Okashina Okashi / Strange Candy, a little Eri-chan on my daughter from the same comic, and of course Miho from Megatokyo. There are always a bunch of Megatokyo cosplayers at the cons where Fred is a guest (I have pictures of a whole hall full of them), so no need to feel self-conscious!
Check out the galleries in my .sig for more info. =^_^=

I have seen Dominic Deegan cosplay, VG Cats cosplay, and my friends and I have done RPG World cosplay. It's perfectly fine and acceptable.

Sadly, I don't have any pictures, because I never cared to save the links to them and those of me and my friends are taken down again by now ^^;

Aww, what great costumes! Thanks for the replies.

She wants to go as Tesla in Infinity costume from Adventurers. with a paper mache Spybot cannon. I think that would be most amusing. :)

(Shes also said if she does, she wants to rope myself in as Ardam and two of our friends as Lumi and Karn. Im tempted. Though I fear people will think I have a thing for cross-dressing in blue wigs :-/)

I've been wanting to do Something*Positive cosplay for a while, but it keeps getting pushed back. =/

PeeJee from S*P rocks! I love her many and varied hairdyes.
I'm especially fond of the fox tails:

OH, now you've gone and done it, Tia. You have unleashed doom upon the world.

heh, I recently did a Chugworth Academy. It was a very fun cosplay. Nothing is wrong with cosplaying webcomics. It's just not often done. It can be real fun because sometimes if the artists are there, they'll see it and give you some free stuff. *shrug* The guys at Chugworth did, at least.

Oh dear God NO. *scared of Peejee with that mask* Like she really needed a reason to maul people. I wanted to be Branwen and then he goes and kills the damn character off. Why does that always happen to me??? (well not dead, but dead to the comic) A lot of people tell me I should be Aubrey.... but I don't know about that one. I like her hair, though... (the one he's drawn her as more recently, but maybe it's changed by now, 'cause I haven't had a chance to get caught up for like a year)

I'm working on a Miho cosplay right now. One day I may do Monique from Sinfest (my friends would get a kick out of that ^^). I'd love to cosplay as Juno from Starcross'd Destiny as well.

im workin on Piroko from MegaTokyo for AnimeNEXT '06 (sadly Fred isn't a regular there, but i will go to Otakon someday lol), which i've wanted to do for a while. personally i dont see anything wrong with web-comic cosplay, as long as you get some people to recognize it or like it anyway b/c it looks cool, and most of all as long as you have fun :)! good luck with the costumes!

I've cosplayed as Eri-chan from Okashina Okashi: Strangecandy, twice.

First time, ACen 04, 1 person knew who I was, but the costume was so comfy and easy to wear: http://bunnybeth.net/cosplay/costumes/erichan.html

Second time, Ohayocon 05, lots of people either recognised it or were amused when I told them my plush was a baby tentacle monster: http://bunnybeth.net/cosplay/costumes/eri_smily.html

Did Seraphim from Megatokyo, have most of Aubrey's "Death" costume from Randy's fanart, and did Winter Een Mas Ethan from CtrlAltDel for Katsucon 05 (pic in my gallery). It's so much funnnnnn. I'm doing Cardboard Tube Samurai or Twisp and Catsby from Penny Arcade at some point, and I've got Helen's outfit from Mac Hall.

Speaking of Penny Arcade, I actually have done the Cardboard Tube Samurai. People seem to get a kick out of it. I have also seen people do John Gabrial and the Fruit F*&#er from the same comic.

OMG, one of my friends just asked me to make him the Fruit F@#$#! costume. I'm vastly amused by this idea now.

I would love to cosplay as Maya (from Paper Eleven) so I think webcomic cosplay would rock.

Though.. i'd also like to cosplay as Nana (Elfen Lied) but more like the nana in Nana's Everyday Life *no different to the anime one, just in a box)

go go webcomic cosplay

I'm currently working on Rube Faily from Strange Candy, so far it will be the first webcomic cosplay I've done.

I don't read many webcomics on a regular basis (I used to, but I simply can't remember them all anymore) so I don't have a lot of webcomic cosplay in my cosplay queue. Maybe Suicide Girl from Sexy Losers, but I don't know.

AmazonPrincess, I love your avatar.
And I must see pictures of your rube faily when you're done.

I've cosplayed as Pirogoeth from Megatokyo, but didn't have ONE good pic taken of it yet (In fact, I'm only found ONe online so far, gyah) but I'm really happy with it.

And I'm also loking at putting Maya together from paper Eleven, but there's so many varaitions on her outfit I'm not sure which I'd do.
