Hey all! Me and some friends of mine were discussing costumes for next year's Dragon*Con (yes, I know it's been less than a week since the other one ended) and they suggested that I try to go as Paladin Alexander Anderson. Last weekend me and two friends dressed as "standard" Hellsing soldiers and Seras Victoria, but we wanted to get some more main characters together for next year. So far we've planned on having an Alucard, Integra, Seras, and me possibly as Alexander. I figure the shirt, pants, and shoes will be easy enough to get hold of. The main issue, I think, will be the trenchcoat. Can anyone give me an idea of where to find a trenchcoat of that particular shade of grey? I'd really prefer not to get one custom-made and just add the purple trim to it myself. Also, can anyone provide me with an image of the writing on the back of Anderson's gloves, so that I can make some iron-on transfers? And my last question is this: I've done a bit of searching for the shirt with that kind of collar that he is wearing, which a friend of mine told me is called a Mongolian collar. Can those be picked up anywhere, or are there specialty websites that sell them?
Any ideas that you guys can provide would be greatly appreciated! Thanks very much! Oh and, by the way...if you wanna email me anything, here's my address: firstname.lastname@example.org. Thanks again!

Not a lot of Hellsing stuff (other than the business suits themselves) are truly mainstream clothing. You would have to get something similar (aka: Go to a coat store and pick something you think you can work with) or make the whole thing yourself from scratch so you can be extremely picky about colors.
Anderson's right hand (http://454.unreality.nu/sanguine/_order03/hs_ep3_003.jpg)
His left hand is exactly the same except it has "Speak with Dead" written on it instead.
As for his shirt...it depends on what version of Anderson you're going for. In the manga, his clothing ranges from just a regular shirt to a priest's shirt with the white collar. Again, something like that'd be either modified from something you find that you think is close enough, or you make it yourself from scratch.

Anderson's sigils (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v400/purpleflames/Misc/anderson-sigil.png)
Be sure to flip the image around in Photoshop or some other image-modifying program so it won't be backwards when you iron it on.

This might help with accessories.

Thanks for the sigil images! They'll come in quite handy, I'm sure, and I hope they'll look better than just using a sharpie to ink it on. Someone else told me last night that the shirt Anderson wears in the animé actually had a Manchurian collar, and that sounds more accurate than what my friend Tony told me. At any rate, I'll keep hunting around. The costume will cost some money, but it doesn't seem like it will be really, really expensive to put together..

Oops...sorry about the above post, guys. A friend of mine was logged on here on my computer and I didn't even stop to look at the log-in name. But yeah. The above post is me. Just signed into the wrong name at the time.
