Ah! I'm back, I hvent posted for a long long time, but heres something new! which i blieve Limeyaku has said sum stuff about, im making a Le Branc outfit for AN, modified tho, @_@ its soo skanky but i luv it just the same. But like im not sure if she changes outfits nd Limeyaku suggested evn if she duznt i can design my own since i like designing my own stuff, i wuz wondering if i should? like make a totally original le branc popstar/thief/gunner nd stuff like tht if they dunt already let her!

But yea about half of her is dun....half of her nd a few skanky straps nd all :eek: luckily we found the most perfect beige fabric 2 use!

bleh!! cousin!! you're alive and posting. sugoi...*-*

do you want me to send you the pics of Lebranc so far? Like...edit them up and make some semi-fancy cg's for you to upload?

anyways...

anyone have suggestions on how to do the collar? we have a good idea but wonder if there's anything better...and the ankle bracers??

Collie

The collar.....you could put some fabric stiffener....stuff (?? I've never used it myself but someone once suggested it to me for.....I forget...) Or make a frame from wires or ....something and then cover it. Cause.....you can use wire for all the way down the front and run it up into the collar too. It'd have to be pretty heavy duty wire though to actually stay like that..... and then the ankle bracers.....I'd say wood and a hinge...... ^^; But that's just all I can think up for now. Sorry I can't be of more help.... ;---;

And also! Making your own designs for Le Blanc job classes would be really neat. *_________* Good luck if you do! ^^

I love Le Branc's outfit! I think it's very different in that sexy, strange knida way. I'm also planning to cosplay her and Yuna next year (2004). I hope she gets to change outfits as well, like Yuna and the rest of the ladies. However, bad guys don't usually change much in outfits, hmm.....

Collie
02-05-2003, 10:28 PM
Erg. Um. I don't think we know if she's a "bad guy" yet. Remember in X when you fought Kimahri with Tidus? Well, Kimahri wasn't a bad guy. I dunno. Maybe? We don't know....do we? I heard she owned or piloted the ship thingy..... HEARD.

So don't jump down my throat people.

she's the leader of the LeBranc gang...obviously...they're just rivals to the Seagull gang ( yuna/rikku/paine).

its more like with Dona. shes not a BADGUY just a rival i think. theyre both on the same sphere-searching hunt. ^^

worlds first and best LeBranc to date! ^0^ CELEBRATE! It looks so awesome! ^0^ It'll be even better ( if possible!?!? ) once it's 100% done rather than 99.9. ^^

Your costumes look great! ^_^ It would be really cool if you designed an original Le Branc costume. If you do any drawings or sketches of ideas I'd love to see them.

Limeyaku
03-02-2003, 11:05 PM
Oh!! I already designed a theif and popstar lebranc! ^0^ we both LOVE the theif one but the popstar one looks kinda elton-john-esque, imho. LOL!! i'll prolly re-do that one. ^^;; i'll see if i can find the scans...^^

depends. I dont think i'll do ffx-2 yuna due to the fact I totally like le branc better and I have to limit my cosplay to next to nothing for the rest of the year after sakuracon.

Wow! You did a great job--the shape & color looks so accurate & you look like her. :eek:
The only suggestion I have would be to maybe get something more sheer for the skin part or lower the top of it just a little so we get to see the heart more.
Ya don't have to really. I think you look like you jumped out of the game already. :)

Wow. That LeBlanc costume is impressive. I was wondering if anyone was going to be able to pull off that design.

The "LeBranc" spelling hurts my head.. I know L/R is the same in Japanese, but.. if we were going for Japanese it wouldn't end with a C. ^^;

Limeyaku
03-04-2003, 03:37 PM
actually, we were just lazy and cut out the construction paper heart and taped it on, so it slipped behind the skin coloured stuff. ^^;; when she actually cosplays at the convention, it'll be painted on a little higher up where it should be. ^0^

hehehahah! XD she's gonna flip out when she reads ur guys' comments. ^0^

and craps...figuring out how to make a pattern for that....THING was horrendously difficult. the first dress was only 10000 sizes too small and was completely cut up n scrapped. LOL! i think we lucked out BIG time. O_O im just glad she didnt /HAVE/ to have it bodysuit-like. *phew*

since we worked together so hard on the costume, ur comments really mean a lot to me too. ^0^ thanks thanks thanks!

Woaah! I'm superly surprised evry1 likes it, i remember commenting: if no1 likes it ill stand out so much 2 T~T! But im SO glad evry1 does ^^ nd yes, thank God it didnt hafta b a body suit and also tht i didnt hafta get it spray painted while i wuz wearing it like naria nd eriya..- -...thk u snow! ^O^

But yes thk u all so much ^^;; the design wuz hard...nd the boots nd the top r totally different fabrics i recommend more stretchy stuff for the legs, tht wuz a good find since the colour wuz so perfect, nd the triangle, design fabric wuz a good find 2 ^^ cept when we handstitched it to the boots while it wuz on my legs - -...i hve all these lil marks now...ah well! itz worth it *hugs costume nd gets scratched by collar thing* Ack..thx so much again tho ^^

That's because LeBlanc isn't japanese. 0.o; It's french. For White.

Hmmm...This is strange I was visiting the official website, and it originally said Le BRanc nd now it's Le BLanc...this is insanely queer @@ they're all confusing me!! They can't just change her name like tht!
But back to making costumes I got more dun on le branc....er blanc, i finished the back of the collar and added the tassels, all thtz left now is the rimming on the top of the boots, sum touch ups that Limeyaku convinced me to do, my fan and the straps on her legs. So close yet so far >.< More pix soon i promise ^^!

Hey Sakuradayu~ That's a really great costume you've going there!!!! Rock on. I was wondering how you did the shoes for your costume there... I'm making one as well (for Tekkoshoson), and I'm having a really hard time, mostly because I should have invested in a more..stretchy fabric. Did you use a stretchy fabric, or did you use several parts sewn together? Thanks~~

Sakuradayu
03-26-2003, 06:47 PM
hi,
the base of the shoes were a pair of foam-like ( flip flop material ) platform sandals. little baggy things were made and used to cover the shoe, seperately from the leggings ( which have a hole on the top and bottom, not closed in ^^ ). the leggings and shoe cover were like a nylons/tights material so it was easy to use and super super stretchy. if you need to make platforms,it might be easiest to buy several pairs of flipflops, take out the toe parts and stack them so they're multi layer and super high XD that way you could just staple the non-stretchy material to the bottom instead of making a booty-like thing. hope that helps! ^_^ <-- courtesy of limeyaku (seeing as she made thm witout me ^^;;; )

I hope you don't mine me posting in this thread... It's pretty outdated, but I might as well re-awaken a thread on the subject I want to post about instead of making a whole new topic, right? ^^;

I am planning on buying fabric for my Le Blanc costume, but I have one issue... what fabric should I get? I love the fabric Collie used for her Lady Luck Rikku, and I'd like to use that for Le Blanc, but I have to find out from her what kind of fabric she used! ;) Le Blanc's costume has different shades of pink in it, and I know I won't be able to recreate that with dying/painting, so I'd like to get a fabric that would give the effect of difference shades in different lighting... ^^; Wish me luck? lol. If any of you could suggest anything, that would be awesome.

I don't remember the name of the fabrics I used for my LeBlanc costume, but I used two layers.. I used a light magenta cotton fabric, and then used a special occasion fabric over it. It's see-thru, hence why I used the cotton under it, and it has a purple/pink sheer finish so that it shines different colors. I also did the same thing for the white spots and used a pearlescent fabric of the same type over white cotton. I -know- you can find them in the special occasion section in any JoAnn etc. store (the big ones) I hope that helped, and GOOD LUCK!!!

JoAnn's eh? I've gotten suggestions to go there for the the fabric, I guess I will have to wait till I get a chance to go across the boarder to get my Le Blanc stuff. Are the prices resonable at that fabric store? I went around to 5 different fabric stores in the lower mainland (BC) and I couldn't find anything that would work. ;_;

Do you have any pictures of your costume? I'd love to see how the layering of fabric worked for you. :)

Well, I found a really nice fabric for my Le Blanc costume when I took a trip down to the USA. I don't think the custom officer didn't believe I was going down just for fabric, but I was! I was so happy. JoAnn Fabrics is a really nice fabric store. I'll post more updates on my progress of the costume. :)

Uhm, my mom is cosplaying LeBlanc for Metrocon, (yes, my mom), and I wanted to ask...where is a good starting point in the costume? I'm being Lenne, and this is my first cosplay (not my first con, though), so...I need to brainstorm a process.
