I've decided that my first shot at cosplay will be Ed, since his costume is pretty easy....but I just need help finding a coat like his. My mom said that I didn't want a lab coat, like I thought before....she said his coat looks British, if that will help me any.

Anyways, if you're cosplaying as Edward this year or were cosplaying him before, could you give me some tips on how you found a coat to dye, or where you found any good coats that would be suitable. It would also help if they don't cost too much money....I have a budget. ^^;

Thank you so much!! ><

I have got to tell you now, this costume wasn't easy, pluse, it got a bit expensive for me... the way I made my coat way I got 5 yards of read fabric, which was more than I needed, but it was only $13. It took hours to do but I have to say this was the best way I could thik of. Just go to Joanne's fabrics. Always the best place :D

I really don't think you are going to find an already-made coat that looks close to Ed's (even if all you have to do is dye it). That is, unless there IS a coat out there somewhere.... it probably won't be cheap, though.

Your best bet would either be to make it yourself or to get someone who can make it for you within the time you have left.

All I did for the pattern was pin one of my realy long *really fashionable :P* coats to the fabric and cut. It worked for me but then again, I'm to cheap to try and find a pattern. Besides, when I finished my cosplay anyway... it was a grand total of 70 dollars... T.T If it weren't for the fact that i was cosplaying Ed I would have screwed it! But I love Ed too much ^.^
