I need to get full-length hooker boots for an I-No (Guilty Gear) cosplay and since my local Value Villiage doesn't carry them (^_~) I was wondering if anyone has experience making long boot covers and about what the materials would cost. What kinds of materials did you use, too?

Xiola made thigh-high boot covers for her Starfire costume (http://images.cosplay.com/showphoto.php?photo=443758); she used spandex with a gap (held closed with velcro) at the back of the ankle to give enough room to get them on over the boots.

Crimson_Firefly, got a pic of the boots in question? I might be able to help.
I think stretch PVC fabric or spandex or even liquid lamé seem to be the materials of choice.
Anything from here work?

Sarcasm-hime: Thanks for the link to Xiola's costume. Definately something to consider.

Tenebrae: Yes, I do have a picture. It's attached :). After looking it up stretch PVC looks like a pretty good option.

Thanks for the link to the boots... though I don't really want to buy full boots if possible, since they are expensive.

If you are using pvc, it's a good idea to install a zipper, where a boot normally would have one, on the inside of the leg.

Yeah, for boots with soles like that and the buckles, you might be better off making your own out of PVC fabric with buckles and the aforementioned zipper. Plenty of bootcover tutorials online - the one Chibi-kun found from Lynleigh's site (I think) and Sarcasm-hime has one on her site, too.
You can get PVC from http://www.syfabrics.com (amongst other places) if your local fabric stores don't carry it.

if you don't feel like making them you should try Dani's shop http://www.cosplaysupplies.com/boot-tops/boot-tops.html
