View Full Version : Tsubaki from Bleach

Ok, I'm considering cosplaying Tsubaki form Bleach. One of the "faeries" that consists of Orihime's power.

Reference Pics:

1) any ideas/suggestions for the butt-wings and leg-wings? >_> The main part I'll probably go to a dance store and buy a full boy leotard thing (forgive my lack of lingo) ok, i realize that the wings aren't really on his butt, persay, more like far lower back, but... any suggestions for attaching them in a manner that they dont go flop?

2) I was thinking that I have the wings, have them attached to a belt that goes underneath the leotard. would that work? any suggestions for material, material to keep the wing's shape? cardboard seems to have a tendency to bend and warp, and i'd like to avoid that, but don't want heavy wooden wings

3) is there maybe a way to get it so that the wings can fold up and be in "fly mode" such as this: http://www.animegalleries.net/img/122605

any input, suggestions, experience, guidance, etc is appreciated!

For some reason, I can't properly view pics from animegalleries.net on my work computer...
I just saw the episode finally with the fairies so I know at least a little what you're talking about.
You could use fabric for the wings with an infrastructure kind of like an umbrella...I'm really not sure how that would work, though. Try poking around the Props forum in the wing threads for ideas.
A belt might work for stabilizing them, but one thing I saw somebody do was attach wings to a flagpole thing attached to a big metal plate for stability which was cinched up under a corset. The wider the base, the more stable the wings will be.
Also, if they are attached to a flagpole thing, the wings can be removable which can be handy with large wings.
