Hey!

I was just wondering how many cosplayers there are from the Brampton area. I think there is quite a few... anyway if there turns out to be a lot we should plan some type of outing or something that is down on this end...I think last year there was a bowling trip or something of that sort.....

Also I was told that Chinguacosy Park is a nice place to have a photoshoot... I dont know 100%...( seeing how I've never been ^^; )... but when the weather is better it seems like a good place to go (unless some knows a better place in Brampton to go).... but I assume a place like that gets booked up for the summer early so it most like have to be booked now right?... if anyone knows all about that sort of thing let me know :D ....

Okay that is all folks!

actually one of the best places to do photoshoots i have found is heartlake conservation area, good for action shots and woodsy pictures, i dunno how the public would take to a bunch of teenagers in random costumes. but hey ide be in if im not working that night

Kohana

Oh cool.... I know where that is... I think ^^;..lol...but it sounds like a cool idea... Heartlake has a BBQ area too right.....hopefully I'm thinking about the right park....

I'm such a weenie! I should have mentioned this before. My house backs on to Gage Park in Hamilton. It's a lovely park in the Spring with gorgeous flower gardens. I'd be willing to host a get together in the backyard once it's warm enough. Everyone could bring a dish and we could have a great get together on a weekend!

Well, I don't live in Brampton anymore, but my dad does, and my sister visits him like.. EVERY weekend, so Its pretty much up to me if I want to jump aboard for the ride and stay with him for the weekend.

I used to live just down the road from Ching. There IS a very nice place for photos. There is actually a few nice places. Just have to watch out for wedding photos, that is fairly common there.

Anyways... Ya! I'd totally be up for a photoshoot! More perferably any time before may, because once the track opens here in Fort Erie, work starts again.. ^^; harder to get away.

Kohana

I see...so something before AN would be good then... April/Early May would be good...

And it seems that Ching. seems like the place to go...

12-09-2005, 08:08 AM
I live in Brampton.

Yeah and I visited heartlake for Track Meet once I didn't find it that of good place for a phootshoot.

I think Chingcousey park would be good...because I live a 5 minute walk from it XD

I agree Chingcousey all the way!! *slightly bias 'cause it's so close*

akina_chan666

I agree with Mokulen and Digi.... Only because I'm Digi's sister and so it's also a five minute walk for myself. Hopefully, I'll have my Magna Carta cosplay finished by spring. I think I will....

lol, me too... but more so when it comes to AN all my friends live in that area...
I think Ching. just might be the place.... it seems that the park is fairly busy... does anyone know if a space has to be book or anything?....I'm checking stuff out on the Brampton website but I'm still 100% sure....

You can't be a true cosplayer if you're worried about who will see you while you're in costume! :P Hell, I make a point of going public places in costume! lol

Jo_Canadian
12-12-2005, 12:10 AM
lol i dressed as reno for halloween at my school, man was it fun, cause a couple of teachers knew who i was. and besides most of the people who know me at my school know i do costumes. so whats the harm in it

Kohana

for me I'm more worried about my friends seeing the costumes where I'm 1/2 nekid...lol....thats how rumours start...lol

mokulen22
12-12-2005, 12:24 PM
For weddings you have to (I do know that) but that's professional and all that jazz...so I don't think you have to book the park if we're only going for a pinic/photoshoot (it's not like hundreds of people will be showing up). A few cosplayers should be fine -- just get there early and grab one of those wooden barn-like things.

Kohana
12-12-2005, 10:58 PM
Okay, I was just worried about us not being able to find a place... because that park seems fairly busy...I'll have to visit there some time to get a better idea of the place... but its WAY too cold...

I was wondering if there were any particular shops in Brampton you guys go to for your cosplay gear....its all Toronto for me at this point just wondering if there is anything closer...

lainey
12-13-2005, 09:54 AM
Curious...Centennial Park in Etobicoke...anything there?

If the time is good for me (no exams/tests/school stuff), I will definitely go :)

Besides cosplaying myself, I would love to test out my new digi cam and provide high quality shots for everyone. I want play around with the manual settings, so please forgive me if all shots don't come out perfectly :)

Unfortunately I won't have the chance to take many pics at cons like AN since I usually give my camera to my cousin, and he'll probably take pics on auto mode (evil TCC lighting!).

My cuz likes to say I have a horseshoe up my butt when it comes to fabric I have always been able to find actually what I need at either fabricland in the City Centre or Walmart on Queen/Airport...and for cheap. I'm just lucky!

And for props I can make anything out of tuck tape (Just check out my Miroku staff) and other things I find in normal stores. :toothy:

LOL!!! LOL!!!

I know that store all too well.... but the sad thing is that pple at that store suddenly change their tune when they found out I was african.. then there all like "My sista I got a deal for you" etc...... they over charge for everything and the store is super cluttered... but sometimes I can hussle a deal out of them...

I had to shop there once :( for a last minute wig cap. First I was ignored while the counter girl was on the phone than treated like a moron when I asked for some help. :( Moku doesn't shop there anymore.

yup that sounds like regular service there... but there is a place I go to more often.... its called Lengguy's.... its in the plaza @ Queen and Mclaughlin....
MUCH better service... and good prices... they dont have lots of wigs but they lots of extensions adding to wigs and such....

Yes, I truely feel if you're not African she couldn't be bothered. I've never been treated so rudely in my life -- I filed a complain with the mall management but I doubt it did anything.

I walked around the store with a shopping list of things I needed. She followed me around and kept asking if I needed help, which I didn't mind at all (I understand when you own your own store you're a little more paranoid of younger people wandering aimlessly for extended periods of time), but eventually she put her phone down and huffed "Give me your list!"
Myself and the other girl in the store were surprised. I can't recall EXACTLY what I said but it was like "Am I bothering you that much?"
"Yea, because you're in my store and not buyin' anythin'!"
I started laughing and left the store, the other girl followed behind me.
The girls at the mall office could relate and recalled events of other people complaining. I was just wondering if anyone on here has been subjected to it *sigh* It's a shame, she had a lot of products I wanted to try out :(

Kohana~ Lengguy's? I've never heard of it. I'm not too familiar with Brampton but if you recommend it I'd definately love to check it out! :) Thanks so much for the tip!!

 Is this chick ALWAYS on the phone! That's too funny, man.

I usually go to a place called "Ebony" (if not online) to get wig stuff. Ebony is on Queen/Bramalea. It's small but the people are helpful -- I did get a few stares the first time I walked in but they helped none-the-less. :) :toothy:

OMIGOSH LOL I FELT THE SAME >_< I went to that EXACT same store like 1-2 years ago, and I was just interested to see their stuff...

they were watching me like a hawk and I asked some questions about the fibres, and she snapped at me and said it was synthetic and snapped at me again when I asked what type of "synthetic."

And....so I never visited there again :)

Then again, I visited another store like that in a small local mall and the lady was actually REALLY nice. And I didn't intend on buying anything but she chatted with me a bit politely.

Bleh, could just be evil brampton O_O

anyhow...centennial is in etobicoke, close to me (i live on the edges of Mississauga, Brampton and Etobicoke!).

Quite a location mm? lol

There's also a conservatory park:

Anyhow...haven't been to Chinguacousy before but:
"Many of Brampton's celebrations take place at Chinguacousy Park. A ski hill, farm with petting zoo, mini golf, batting cages, tennis courts, splash pool, bandshell, greenhouse and more, can also be found here. The park is located on the corner of Bramalea Road and Queen Street East.

Hum..so that's centennial park, I don't think I been there at all. Chinguacousy Park, a ski hill, farm with petting zoo, mini golf, batting cages, tennis courts, splash pool, bandshell, greenhouse and more? Sounds interesting, and cosplayers playing mini-golf? That's something you don't see everyday, but could be fun in the spring time.

So Chinguacousy or Centennial(I don't mind either way)?

lainey
12-22-2005, 09:15 AM
Chinguacousy sounds like fun...plus I've never been there ^_^

Plus they have a lovely greenhouse, maybe we can take lovely pics there as well ^_^

Mini golf...I'M THERE! (though I royally suck at it LOL)

If all is good, I might bring my uncle's fancy digital SLR ^_^
I don't want to bring it to cons because it's so expensive..but I think he's fine with controlled photoshoots ^_^

Kohana
12-22-2005, 09:38 AM
Yea, I would prefer Ching. b/c the intention I had behind this was to gather Brampton area pple for an event in Brampton... Although Centennial is a great place to get there it would be a quite a travel for me.... and Brampton Transit sucks something terriable...
I think Ching. seems to be best for everyone... I dont remember if there is anyone that prefers Heartlake

well where is your starting point?

Vicky
12-22-2005, 11:04 AM
doesnt matter to me ^^; did we have any idea when this would be happening? spring?

Kohana
12-22-2005, 12:37 PM
I was thinking before AN... so we can get good photos of our AN cosplays ... nothing sucks more then having a nice picture but then having a bunch of pple in the background OR bad lighting -_-...

so before or after AN what does everyone else think? before AN ... or after?
*ques jeparody music*

Edgar Strife
12-22-2005, 01:10 PM
well where is your starting point?
I live around where the Humber College is, not the Lakeshore Campus. I can get to Kipling, Finch, Wilson or Islinton station. I know a Brampton bus passes by, but I'm not sure of the route or the name of it. Any idea? As for a day, before AN or after is fine by me [if I can get my AN cosplay done by then, i would say before AN.]

Kohana
12-22-2005, 01:31 PM
okay... well there is a number 11 Steeles going west to Shoppers World Brampton... shoot this is kinda hard to describe b/c there isnt a bus I know of that passes right in front of there... every bus is quite a walk away

lainey
12-22-2005, 01:45 PM
Hey!

Well I suppose...hmmm...after AN?
that way everyone has their costumes done by then ^_^

I guess we can work out the transportation details later...unless some is brampton transit savy lol

the only bus route i know is 14 since it goes to Malton.

mokulen22
12-22-2005, 02:39 PM
The 1A passes by (Just have to cross the street) Queen/Bramalea.

FiaNari
12-22-2005, 02:55 PM
OK lemme take this(used to go on the Brampton bus all the time), the 77 will take you from Finch station directly to Chinguacousy. The 1A works but it doesn't pick you up from Toronto.(ish the Brampton savy one) I was hoping before AN but that's just me, I'd go either way.

Kohana
12-22-2005, 03:22 PM

yea but the 77 is so far out the way to catch (unless you're close to HWY7).... maybe its best to take the 11 to shoppers world.... then hop on the 1B then transfer to the 1A...hmmm..

FiaNari
12-22-2005, 03:25 PM
Oh the 77 takes like a two hour route, so bring an i-pod, drawing material, psp, manga, pocky, a soda, etc.(cause it is a boring trip) But a person before did mention the idea of having access to B-twon from Finch. Of course what you refer to more out on the other area of town, then there's always the Go-bus from Yorkdale to Bramalea City Centre.

Edgar Strife
12-22-2005, 04:04 PM
Ok, I think I'm a little confuse, hopefully when the time comes, the bus route would be in details by then. But thank you everyone for your help with the bus routes.

FiaNari
12-22-2005, 08:52 PM
Well it really depends from where you'd be coming from.

Vicky
12-22-2005, 08:53 PM
After AN is a better idea because the weather around AN isn't always that great, if everyone recalls.

FiaNari
12-22-2005, 09:41 PM
I am guessing you refer to rain. To be truthful I just like filling up that December to May void, so that's why I said I prefer before. Cause summer is always fun!!^_^

Pirate Queen
12-22-2005, 11:26 PM
I think after would be a good idea..because if anyone is like me they leave everything to the last minute. So before wouldn't be such a good idea...haha call me crazy but I feel like i'm intruding slightly. Everyone has been in this thread since the start. :P

FiaNari
12-22-2005, 11:28 PM
It's all good, so after has two things going for it:climate and laziness. Oh and while we are there we should so go to Bramalea City Centre!!

Pirate Queen
12-22-2005, 11:39 PM
Hurrah for laziness! Although the perks of before would be pre-anime north photoshoots. No random people in the background..etc. I for one if i pushed myself could possibly have my costume done earlier. I'm up for either before or after. But like I said I would prefer after, a little more then before.

FiaNari
12-22-2005, 11:44 PM
That's cool, I also think before is possible, but rain is definetely an issue. A lot of people are pro-after though.

mokulen22
12-23-2005, 10:58 AM
I vote after, only because I know myself and I wont be ready early.

Edgar Strife
12-23-2005, 07:53 PM
Alright, my vote is we have this photoshot after AN, at least it will give me time to finish up my cosplay [my very special cosplay] and it won't interfare with me organizing the Cosplay Chess battle at AN06.

FiaNari
12-23-2005, 09:26 PM
Ok, after seems to lead.

Kohana
12-25-2005, 11:16 AM
Yea, it seems to be after... so I guess early/mid June would be nice since AN is the last weekend in May.

I think it all depends on school when we decide for an actual day... I dont know how many pple are post-secondary or still in secondary... so weekends would probably be the best.

FiaNari
12-25-2005, 11:36 AM
I guess cause June is exam time for highschoolers. So weekend!!

kuko-chan
12-25-2005, 11:09 PM
Well before or after AN works for me, since I'm not in school and I live right across the street from Chingcousey. Perhaps two photoshoots might work for those who get busy after AN and can't make it to the one after.

I'm up for a little mall-wandering of course! Beware of the many norms who roam the halls. :P This sounds very exciting! This might actually be my first picnic photoshoot I can make!

FiaNari
12-26-2005, 12:06 AM
Hope you can make it!!
Yeah a cosplay invasion of the Bramalea City Centre would be awesome!!

rox_my_sox
12-26-2005, 11:55 AM
I'm from Shelburne(middle of no where) but I visit brampton alot because I used to live there. I'd be up for a photoshoot of some sort depending on the time of year and on my schedual. (username mifflin is from brampton to)

FiaNari
12-26-2005, 11:59 AM
Well the time of year seems to be around June from what I can gather.

Vicky
12-26-2005, 03:01 PM
I should be able to make it, I wonder which costume I should bring :9

FiaNari
12-26-2005, 06:26 PM
Oh Good point, wow I was getting ahead of myself there, I have no clue what I'll do.

kuko-chan
12-27-2005, 11:43 AM
I bet we'd get a "weirded-out" reaction from people at City Centre. :D They'd probably think we're from a parade or something! Let's do it! Should we pick a day?

I bet we'd get a "weirded-out" reaction from people at City Centre. :D They'd probably think we're from a parade or something! Let's do it! Should we pick a day?

Count me out on any mall crap.
I'm pretty sure instead of stares, we'd just get shanked.

"Someone's a little bitter."

I just think that tromping around at a mall for the sake of attention from 'norms' is sort of giving a bad impression.
I mean, I'm fine with being a dork. But when I say I cosplay,I don't want to be associated with obnoxious antics of running around in costume in public places.

Kohana
12-27-2005, 05:40 PM
Very true, but I dont think anyone has any "antics" planned....at least I hope not... but I dont plan to go to Bramelea dressed up...
Although there was one time I was in the mall in line @ the Bmo there was an Itachi, Kagome, and Inuyasha from what I remember roaming the mall...it looked like fun but its not for me....
But anyway.. I dont want to suggest a date at this time due large possibility that things will change...but it will be after AN since most pple are in favour of that idea...

I think going to the mall would be fun!!I am not really afraid of any listed reasons really. A brave man dies once?

kuko-chan
12-28-2005, 01:26 AM
Yeah, after reading Chobrat's comments, I'm in agreeance. Prancing around City Centre isn't the best idea afterall, simply because we wouldn't get the same reaction we would if we were in, say, Pacific Mall.

In an Asian mall, you might get the occasional stare, maybe a few comments from fans who recognize the series you're from, but in an urban mall like City Centre, the reception is less warm. There's more rude comments and most likely people deliberately getting in your face, giving you a hard time. I, for one, am not looking forward to that... :S

its not a question of being afraid... I mean I have walked in Square One and Downtown in cosplay...but I'm not too keen on the City Centre....besides its quite a walk from the park....for me anyways....I hate walking >.<

I don't usually associate photoshoots as "tromping around at a mall for the sake of attention", but you make a good point. I don't really think a mall is a good place, period. last time I checked the only interesting backdrop at that mall was the waterfountain, and even then. I think we're much better off in a park or something. Not to say I wanna hit a park, just something a little more... appropriate.

Kohana - Well it's not that far a walk from the park to the mall. I guess it depends on which end of the park we start from, but typically, it's an 8 minute walk. I know this because I live in the aparments across the street from Chingcousey and it takes me 8 minutes to get to work every day. :)

FiaNari - Going to Comic World sounds tempting, but still, people tend to be rougher and meaner in City Centre for some reason, and we'd have to pass through them to get to Comic World.

Vicky - Yeah, the mall has no good backdrops, not even a waterfountain anymore. Instead, there's a special services centre in the middle of the mall.

Lainey - Oh yes, now I'm curious about what bad occurance you had that turns you off of cosplay mallratting. :P (I'm not trying to be nosey or anything.)

mokulen22
12-28-2005, 02:22 PM

Edit: I suppose I should say something revelant to the topic: The park is best for the photoshoot -- we can just play it by ear, you know, see what everyone is comfy with afterwards.

Yeah, Brampton's not too bad compared to a lot of cities in the US (not offence, Americans), but we do have our problems here, mostly a bunch of wannabe thug-types like my uncle. :P

But getting back on topic, did anyone know about the Teahouse in the south part of the park? They serve a lovely cup of tea and biscuits and apparently, they serve sushi as well and they have karaoke nights! Perhaps we could look into that...

I've been there a couple times, I'd be glad to check it out. I think we'd have to reserve a spot if we wanted to do the karaoke thing, but as long as there's isn't a huge crowd of us, we could probably just pop in for a cup of tea and some sushi. They have a front patio area!

I don't mind CHANGING into normal clothes and then grabbing something to eat at bramalea lol

ahh...i've done it twice...once at Pacific mall for the charity event and once at square one to hit Kariya park for a photoshoot.

*sighs* For some reason I can go on public transit in costume, but a mall is a different story O_O (maybe because in Toronto they expect to see people dressed weird and avoid staring...but in places like Pacific Mall..maybe they are a bit closed minded lol)

Yeah, it's weird... I didn't mind walking around Pacific Mall in costume; the stares were minimul in my case. But I was walking around Bramalea with a Santa hat on a few days AFTER Christmas, and everyone's looking at me like it's the most inappropriate thing to be doing, being festive after a holiday has passed. :S

It think the last time anything was said about this it was for a time somewhere in June and on the weekend.
SO Saturday's in June go as follows...

June 3
June 10
June 17
June 24

I personally like June 10th its allows for AN & Ad Astra recovery time...The 17th could possibly be a rain date... but I dont know how many pple may have exams to worry about if they are still in school @ that time...
What does everyone else think?

Well I figure, it's a picnic, right? There'll be food and photo-snapping, general hanging out. There's also a petting farm (goats, sheep, pigs, chicken, that sort of thing), a pool/water park, a small pond with ducks, and if we want to get really crazy, we could go to the teahouse and get some sushi. But this isn't my event, so I'll let Kohana decide on plans. :)

Don't worry, Kohana! I think most of the important details have been taken care of.

I haven't been home in a few days, so I haven't had time to make that map I promised, but when I do, I'll mark down where the big red building in the south end of the park is and we could all meet there (it resembles an old firehouse).

I'm actualy tempted on coming. It would take a lil over an hour and a half to take a train out there so that I don't mind, but it would cost me $32 to get their and back *weird cause according to Greyhound, the same trip would take anywhere from 17.5 to 21 hours and cost almost twice as much, WITF?*

Though it kinda seems worth it to spend 32 bucks to see people from AN again for a few hours ^_^

People, plz give me some mega encouragement to come and I will! Say something that will convince me not to do anything else that day and to make the trek out there, and it will be done :reverse:

That and I might need someone to tell me how to get to this meeting place, never been to Brampton before.

kuko-chan
06-07-2006, 12:24 PM
*does a little cheerleader dance for maxy* Come! It'll be fun! Hanging with anime fans, chilling in costume, just relaxing among like-minded people, what could be more fun? :) As for getting here, I have no idea, you'd have to tell me where you're coming from. I know a few bus routes around Brampton.

My friend suggested I bring a boombox for music. Any requests (J-pop, j-rock, NA-music, etc.)? I can see which songs I can find and I'll make a burn CD. Or if my brother is so inclined, he could bring his iPod and we could hook it up to some speakers.

maxy_maxwell
06-07-2006, 02:22 PM
If you do bring that I can bring some music up to if you want :) .

I'd most likely be taking the train up, if that helps. I think it'll arrive in Brampton sometime before 10:30 (then leave shortly after 6 in the evening.... So that would give about roughly 4-4.5 hours) But I'll think about it for a few days, and hopefully by this time next week I'll know if I'll go or not, but I do wanna see you guys, if not this time then hopefully next time around.

But keep thsoe encouragements coming.

If it does rain, will we still do stuff somehow/somewhere? Cause at the price I mentioned it be if I got my train ticket by this Saturday. If I get it afterwards it'll cost a bit over 50 bucks, and that would be mega ouchers, (unless ppl were willing to chip a lil change my way *giggles* no I'm not expecting anyone to give me anything^_^)

Why does transit have to be so stupidly priced one day over the next(and as I mentioned in the post before, sometimes taking the bus takes too damn long!) :(

Try to let me know about if there will be some sort back up plan for that day tonight or tomorrow morning so tomorrow afternoon I can figure out if I'll go or not. This does sound like fun, but again I kinda want make it worth the trip going up, know what I mean ^_^

Just asking for the hell of it (well, to really make a longer stay :) ) Would someone be willing to let me crash with them Saturday night?

One other question. I've never been to Chinguacousy, so I wouldn't know this, but is is a regular park, or is it a Provincal/National park that charges a fee to enter and if so how much?

kuko-chan
06-09-2006, 01:10 AM
First off, if you're arriving by train at Bramalea GO station (at Steeles and Bramalea), you can take the 16 transit bus from the GO station straight to Bramalea City Centre and then walk over to the mall (using the Google Map I provided in a previous post).

I'm not sure what the plan is in case of rain, but normally, other photoshoot/picnics have rain-check days, so for example, if it rains on the 24th, we could meet on the 25th instead.

And Chinguacousy is not a National Park or anything like that, so you don't have to work about paying any fees for being there. I hope that clears up some questions! :)

Hm...so far it seems I may be able to make it, though the only thing remains is the bus route information on how to get there. Though I have never been to this park, I look forward to seeing it. If there is a way to get there from Finch Station, it should be ok with me since I can get to Finch Station from home.

OKI...since I practically LIVE on public transit...I figured I should use some of my knowledge to help out people :) I'll try my best...mind you I like never go to Bramalea City Centre :) I used to go..probably over 6 years ago O_O *feels old*

GO TRANSIT:
From Union station: Take the Georgetown train or bus from union station to Bramalea Go Station. You will need to transfer and take the 16 bus to the mall, and you can walk over to the park from there. (bus number from kuku-chan).
Schedule:
http://gotransit.com/publicroot/schedule/pubsched.asp?table=31&direction=1&day=6&page=1

From York Mills OR Yorkdale:
This stops at Bramalea City Centre. I've taken this quite often in the past, if I recall, it takes about 50-60 minutes.
http://gotransit.com/publicroot/schedule/pubsched.asp?table=34&direction=1&day=6&New=&station=

TTC: Man, I'm not TOO too sure myself! I've always taken the GO from downtown, since it's just a hassal.

A way that I DO know (but it's VERY long!):
- Take TTC to islington station
- Take the number 11 or 40 (that is, if the 40 still exists) to Westwood mall (last stop). Transfer to the 14 Brampton bus towards Bramalea City Centre (the 11 stop is on the same "island" as the brampton stop. The brampton stop is red and blue, the Mississauga stops are orange).
- The 11 takes about 20-30 minutes, the 14 takes about 20-30 minutes. But you probably need to wait a bit when transfering...
- That's a whooping three transfers by the way at least! So..I recommend taking the GO...will end up being cheaper, and you won't get lost!

You could always take the, 58 bus I think from St. Lawrence station, but you'll need to pay double fare. It will take you to westwood mall, and then you can transfer onto 14. But I believe that 58 bus ride is veery long from what I hear.

Gotta love ghetto westwood mall...my local mall LOL Hey, it has lots of buses going to it!

On my list, I've got about 9 people confirmed and and 6 maybes. Most of them are just coming for the picnic birthday thing I'm holding, so they won't be in costume, but it'll still be fun!

EDIT: I've adde that map I promised. Not everything is labelled, just the major landmarks.

LEGEND:
Red building with F is Firehall
Purple building with PF is Petting Farm
Green building with G is Greenhouse
Blue building with T is Sushi Wong's Teahouse
Brown circle with T is Track Field

For those walking from Bramalea City Centre's bus terminal, you can cut through the mall, exit out The Bay's doors, walk to Centre Park Dr. and head north until you cross Queen St. and see the red building. That's where a bunch of us are gathering.

Kohana, it might be a good idea to update the first post with the map I attached earlier just so everyone know we're meeting at the old red firehall building in the south end of the park. :)

I came with my friend Robyn (not in costume, but carrying them with us) in the afternoon, around 3 or so, and we checked at the fire hall and looked all over the place, but there was absolutely no one there. o.O Lots of weddings though...

Yeah, sorry about that. We waited until about 2:30 and decided to move out because it was getting very hot out.

The turn-out was... less than expected. ^^ Pretty much, it was my group and Keyblade Outlaw (and friend). But I think we had a fun time. We chilled for the first bit, and then relocated to the amphitheatre area and ate some food.

Anyway, to those who missed out, I suppose there's always next time. :S

Agreed. It was cool hanging out with you, though! You two were so quiet! :P I think the main problem with this event was just that people had prior engagements they needed to attend to, so that's no big deal. Next time, maybe that won't be the case. :D
