View Full Version : Funny Crossplay Stories!

I have a lot of funny crossplay stories to share.. the latest ones are from Ushicon 2003 in Austin, Texas and I'm going to just paste them from my Live Journal to save typing time.

[LJ Snippet Start]
On the way home I usually change, but this time I wore what I had on at the con, except I changed the wig to the Kasumi/Yuffie one so I didn't draw a ton of attention for having pink hair. For the longest time nothing odd happened, but then again I slept for an hour or so. But after I awoke, Holly, Erin (NatakuAya), and myself were talking about something or other, then we noticed these drab olive green vehicles up ahead. There were three of them, full of army men... we passed the first one with no problems, yet I was still dreading the trucks, and justly so. The second one had guys waving a flirting with what they thought was a car full of cute girls ^^;; I saw them waving first I think, and I stated "I'm not looking at those soldiers..." and everyone bust out laughing, so I assume the service men thought of that as a car full of giggling girls since they waved at them ^^;;; Me and my strange life.

But guess what, that's not all. As if it ever is with me. After we dropped off Erin at her house, and were on our way back to Holly's, where I was staying, we passed this truck full of guys yet again. Not service men this time, your average Joes. They were Spanish, but that doesn't matter really, but I add it for an accurate mental picture. Holly turned to me as she was driving, I was in the back still, so it caught my attention because of that and I looked at her. What she said so calmly kept me from jerking my head back around the other way, and thank goodness. She said something to the effect of, "Have you ever been driving along, and the people in the next car roll down their windows..." I wasn't really sure what she meant, I guessed to ask a question or something, but apparently, those guys had rolled down their windows and were doing something and looking at me. After she told me what they were doing, she said "It looks like you have some fans.." ^^;; Am I really like that while dressed up? I always see plain ol' guy me in 'drag' as it were, and nothing really that pretty.

[Skipped stuff]

Yet more crossplay madness! I was almost kissed! ^^; I was heading for the elevator with some friends, and this hand grabbed firmly onto me left arm, just above the elbow and pulled me back. Took me totally off balance and by surprise. Next thing I know I'm being hugged by a guy I know somewhat and he was joking around with me about going to kiss me and how attractive I was ^^; I really thought he was going to kiss my cheek there for a bit.. I was like "Aaah!" ^^;
[LJ Snippet End]

I swear I wrote these next stories in my Live Journal, but I cant find it there or anywhere else. But at Sugoicon 2002 I was dressed as Melfina from Outlaw Star for Saturday. After cosplay and karaoke had ended and people were slowly leaving the area, I was standing around and chatting with my room mate. Next thing I know there are about 5 guys walking up to us. Now, people walking up to me isn't an unusual thing because you get used to it wearing costumes because of people wanting to talk or take pics. But something made me wonder what they wanted, which I soon found out. One of them was the spokesperson and opened his mouth to invite me to a party in their room. I had no idea what to say, especially after being called hot. ^^; The guy said they had thought I was a real woman all day long until one of their friends pointed out the mistake a little bit ago. Thankfully my room mate got me out of it by saying I promised to go to another party, because I was just standing there with my mouth open in shock. I'm not sure why I'd be invited to a party after being found out, but apparently they were a little bit drunk. I can never smell it, but my roomie said she could smell it on them.

Same con, Sugoicon 2002.. last day. I was in a comfy costume, Wendy Airheart from Read or Die, and "manning" the IC Entertainment table. Someone was running around giving out those grab bags you see in dollar stores that have stuff in them for boys or girls. When they passed me I was handed a bag, I hadn't seen any of this happening so I was completely confused about being handed a brown paper bag. So the girl explained what it was, and I finally said thank you as I took it. I think I startled her when I spoke, because I got a funny look before she went off to hand out the rest of the bags. ^^; I had no idea why I got the look, at least the exact reason, until I opened up the bag. They weren't labeled girl or boy, so I only found out when I seen the contents, which was a couple bottles of nail polish and a few other things. Mostly a sheet of tattoos and a weird squeaky toy.

I hope my stories amuse you! Fun things happen while crossplaying ^^

*lol*! it shows you crossplay very well when people mistake you for the opposite gender, lol!

I've only been mistaken for a guy in my Soshi costume, and nothing too amusing happened. just dissapointed some fangirls. ^^;

I'm fooling more and more people lately, I love that =3 It makes me feel good about my costumes and abilities. The look of shock when I speak is pretty hilarious sometimes. It's kind of like those shows on TV that purposely try to shock people and get their reactions on camera. I've had people scream at me before, which reminds me of another story.

Last year I was dressed as Yuffie from FF7 for a group at AKon. I was hanging out at the bottom of the stairs on the floor with the most activity, waiting for friends to catch up with me. When they finally did I said something like "took you long enough" to joke with them and a girl let out a scream of "OH MY GOD!" and the whole room looked at her and she was pointing at me, then said "You're a not a girl!" She proceeded to talk to me a little bit after that, it would have been longer but my friends and I were on our way to eat or something. But she said all day long she thought I was a girl and that completely shocked her! ^^

I've seen my photos appear on message boards in costumes like Squall or Kuja, and the posters have trouble figuring out what gender I am. It's very amusing, though I can't think of a time where I was mistaken actually at-con..

I like Merle-kun's Yuffie sock boobies! *squish*

I had girls rush up to me at cons saying they saw my photo online and that I was one of the hottest guys they have ever seen. ^__^ Upon hearing my voice and seeing their error a few have mentioned they were now considering a change of orientation. *laughs* As a joke, I am sure.

But then there is THE STORY that everyone has to sit through the funny crossplay stories come up. (Yes you've heard this one before!)

I was showing cosplay photos to my mother and when it came to an Escaflowne one, she jabbed her finger at this one person and said something along those lines: "And you said there aren't any cute boys at cons? This one is so handsome, did you get his phone number?"
Needless to say, the person in question was dressed in a Dragonslayer costume and of course I had his phone number already since it was me. X__X

Nah, everything is easy when words go from your fingers to the bulletin board without passing through your brain. ^__^ It can even make pictures talk.

*laughs* You don't want to look like me when I crossplay or it'd mean that you look like a skinny pretty boy from an anime who would, in real life, be mistaken for a girl all the time.

You'd have Jase's problem and military men hooting at you. (joke!)

well i got the skinny part down pat. the pretty boy thing i'm working on :) lol, besides, doncha know that most of the world's most good looking guys actually LOOK like girls?? it really wouldn't be that bad of a tradeoff ya know?

XD My favorite guys, excepting my VERY male fiance, could all pass for women.

Mana, for example, who is my second favorite male in the world. He's the prettiest girl I've ever seen. I don't know any GIRLS that pretty.

I can pass as a (FEMININE) boy, actually. Long hair and all. X.x I think I posted elsewhere that there was someone on the bus who didn't know if I was male or female. I was wearing a really loose black shirt, jeans, a trenchcoat....and a french braid. XD

GOD it was funny. He couldn't figure it out.

I crossdress to school sometimes...you know, no boobs. *CHOPS EM OFF* (JOKE! JOKE!)

My friends know me. But I do wonder sometimes if everyone else knows WHAT the hell is wrong with me.

HOORAY for everyday crossdressing. XD

hmmm funny crossplay stories... sugoi con 2002 i had first crossplayed there. so i walk down kinda nervous in a my tan dress an dress shirt an large fake breasts...i had heard rumors abou bein called "the woman that not a woman" an s=uch also had alot of ppl groping my fake boobs women...men jus alot of ppl. sat night comes and its time for the masqeruade. a mlae friend of mine asks if he can grope my fake boobs, i saw nothing wrong with it an let em. at that very moment a man walks by sees this...backs up an then walks as far away from me an my friend as possible. funny

lets see driving to ohayocon this year i decided i was to show up in costume...so i changed intoo my rinna costume at a rest stop. the guy walkin in to clean the bathroom was jus freaked out..he backed up his eys wide open. an then had a trucker on the way out say i had a nice oufit >.<;;;; i was at a loss an said thanks (what could i sy really?). an drivin there i had truckers using their horns as i passed them in my lil blue station wagon. that was jus funny an odd. then the last of the ones i had a woman in a buisness suit pull me over to her friends (in suits also) an proceed to compliment me on my dress *shrugs*

I've been told that I'm quite bishounen with my slender figure and long hair. We'll see how girly a man I am when I actually get around to a crossplay.

And yes, Mana is a really pretty boy.

Here here, three cheers for Mana! =D

Menchi: That's really funny how those women complimented you on your outfit lol

Tsuki: Heh heh, can you reattach those things? XD

I've crossplayed once before, Klaha ala Beast of Blood for last year's Halloween. As my friend (who was Mana) was walking in the local parade with me, we got a lot of strange looks from people. Like, on the verge of laughing and crying looks, and "I think you're a guy and might be attracted to you looks." Then we saw this kid I use to watch in my old school with all the lower grade children and I just said hi to him as I passed by. My god, the look on his face was classic! XD He looked both startled and suprised and I bet he wondered how this strange person knew him. Trully priceless XD

o_o;;;

Both guys and girls make passes
at me when I'm squall. hmm.

LOL.. you should have seen me as Mizuho for Ushicon 2003.. I had a HUGE chest and people were just as bad with wanting to grab them as they were at Akon with my Yuffie sock boobs. I guess this is another funny story =3

As I described in the falsies thread, I made new boobies out of balloons and rice. These aren't exactly soft.. I hadn't thought much about it, only thinking of myself... that was until I first hugged a person while wearing them. They slammed into her and she went "Oh my god!" because we just smushed a few pounds of rice between us! ^^;; I hugged a few more people that night, I think one of them screamed out "Your boobies are hard!" which is kinda funny to hear if you have no idea what it really means.

That's another thing crossplay now has taught me about what real women go through... the weight of a heavy chest ALL...DAY...LONG! ^^;

Sort of an out of con experience. It was halloween night two years ago. I was out with some friends hanging out. I was Xplaying as Mamimi for Halloween and a group of people had mistaken me for a girl named Tanya 0_o.. that and about 3 years ago. Memorable quote- "It's a cross dressing petting zoo" some one had said. Two friends and I were cosplaying characters from Digi Charat (I had done Puchiko).

The first time I crossplayed, I was wearing rather large falsies and it seemed that everybody(especially men>_<) had some weird urge to squeeze them either that or every time I go up to talk to someone they stare at my boobs(real annoying). I'll admit it was funny the 1st and 2nd time but after the end of the day I had more then enough. When the con weekend was over I told myself the next time I crossplay I'll use smaller falsies.........problem solved!

ooh almost forgot about this story X.x;;; not sure if is funny or jus stupid but worth telling.

thursday night some staffers are askin the gofers an other staffers if the wanted to go to gameworks as it was ladies night. i agreed (i was wearing my rinna costume). so everybody gathers up gets a jacket an we brave the 20° weather. i then found out it was gonna be interesting when i noticed i had to walk through a mall to get there. an then you had to get a $10 card (minus the ladies) so my friend graciously bought the card. all the while i ws in full costume an looked a good amount like a girl but not enough to be totally believable. now my friend is assumed he is my date ^-^;;; so we walk through in our group i think we had 2-3 ppl in costume including me. everybody is chatting, they then suddenly stop EVERYTHING they were doing turn around an stare at me. i do admit a purple dress with fur trim, digi charat cap an a flourecent blue wig is odd but still. we head downstairs to the ddr machine an ppl continue to stare. i am jus pertified from being nervous. i finally get to play one roudn i didnt pass at all. i was like anyone wnat to leave with me ( am utterly humiliated by now) so my friend goes with me (the one who bought the card). so now my assumed "date" goes with me an i swore i woudl never do that again. only to go to walmart dressed as mutsumi 2 days later XD

XD!! I was about to walk out of the room (Dark Schneider Costume) and someone said 'That's a cool costume, dude." And the judge girl does and pulls my tunic aside so show my muscle shirt and said 'She's got boobs, silly!' and I said 'That's ok, I take it as a complement' XD

Merle-kun
02-14-2003, 01:07 AM
lol.. I take it the same way when people call Miss or Ma'am out to me =3 It's a compliment on your abilities when you're mistaken for the gender you're aiming for.

Menchi
02-14-2003, 01:31 AM
hmmm ppl never called me miss or ma'am yet. lol but being hit on by truckers on the way out from a rest stop runing to my car, or them blowign their horn at me is pretty umm interesting i spose?

oh heres one, my friend...who irks me now. woudl show her ma pics of friends. so she shows her a pic of my mutsumi costume..her mother then says "oh who's that girl? a new friend of yours?" the response she got back "oh thats menchi" XD

Here's a story about my friend (who is not on the board ^^;)

At Anime North 02 she was dressed as the Great Saiyaman. 90% of con people thought she was actually. O_o;; Both of us were confused cuz she didn't have "them" taped down. Ther was even a couple people who were like "weren't you here yesterday" (There was a male saiyaman of friday)

Not really a funny story but ^.^ We may get a few humorous remarks at AN03 with planned cosutme. ^_~

Funniest story I had was actually when I didn't crossplay for once.

I made a Naomi Armitage costume, and several pictures were taken of course. I eventually had to sell the costume (credit card bill was in, oi), and put it on ebay.

I got an email asking how I made the costume, and I explained in detail so the person was fully aware of what they were bidding on. Turns out the bidder was a male crossplayer, and he thought I was a male crossplaying as Naomi.

Later it turned out several people at the con were under the impression I was a male crossplaying as Naomi, unbeknowist to myself.

There was this one time at a certain convention that someone said that their bandages were bothering them and I asked them why they were bandaged up and if they were hurt and they looked at me and I finally got the hint about ... ten minutes later.

I don't really HAVE any funny crossplay stories, just a couple of tangential weird ones...

1) My (short, skinny) husband (who is NOT a crossplayer or crossdresser), for some reason gets called "M'am" a lot in restaurants where they don't know us, or art galleries, etc. I mean IS he THAT bishie enough??? Even with all the muscle he's put on lately?? o.O

2) I was at a convention this weekend, and was talking about cosplay and crossplay to someone who told me that I have "very good guy body language". Anou.... I was not crossplaying at the time, nor had this person ever seen me do it. o.O

Such hilarious stories!!!!!! No fair though.. I SO wish I could be mistaken as a guy.. I use to crossdress alot when I was like 9 or something.. Then I would walk around the city as a guy and people at first really thought I was a guy.. I can't do that anymore! ;-; No fair! I want someone to think I'm a dude! I guess I have too much of a shapely figure or.. I'm just really female looking.. Bleh.. Oh well. ^^;

lol! I was mistaken for a girl when I had my long hair. It was funny.. I was staying in Texas with a friend of mine for a month before Akon, the year I did my Vegeta costume. We were on our way back home from going out to eat and such, and we had to stop at a traffic light.

This very talkative lady in the white van next to us started talking to my buddy who was driving, I was looking around and enjoying the scenery. The lady was talking to him about the hot weather, and eventually that he should "...take his girlfriend there down to the beach..." ^^;; I looked over at her after she said this but the light let out.. ^^;;

This one time, I was walkin' around the AWA dealers room, when out of no where comes this group of hairylegged, manly looking, skirt wearing Sailor Senshi, yes... all of them. Then I noticed, walking behind this obscene crowd of sailors was a tall woman dressed as Tuxedo Kamen. I turned and walked untill I was sure they were out of view.
While this story may not be funny, it is very true and is what made my experience at AWA very unenjoyable.

I had always returned to my room to use the rest room. But at Katsucon this year, I didnt have that option because I didn't stay in the hotel and communted from home. Thankfully, each time mother nature needed my attention I had an easy in and out with no one seeing me while inside the men's room ^^;; I really dread the time when I run into someone inside there ^^;;;

I think girls who dress like guys are sexy...now I don't mean that whole butch look thing. But like in suits or something like that.

One of my favorite characters in SailorMoon is the Sailor Scout that dresses like a guy. I think she rocks!

I wouldn't mind meeting a girl that did that, of course, I would probably be obsessed with her...which would not be good...

This past week, there was no school because a waterpipe broke and made the electric system malfunction.

So, I went to my friend's house.

We dressed up our guy friend as a chick (but his boobs were SOOO lopsided. XD) and me as a boy....well, as sorta-boylike. (I was in my Duo costume) and we ran around pretending we were an item, but HE was the GIRL and *I* was the BOY.

It was so funny.

Ha at katsucon I overheard this girl asking her friend "is that a guy? on the escalator? in the pink wig?" (I was utena) So I looked up at them and said "no!" And I think she felt bad, I dunno, I was going down the escalator and they were above me. I just thought it was funny, cause my mom keeps telling me I'm too girly looking to crossplay XD

hi guys, newbie here ^^;

i got this funny cosplay story to share ^^; back at my place, a masquerade party was held, and the motif was cosplay/gothic. I joined the crossplaying AS cast as Kira/lucifer (kira in sense because someone forgot to bring my black wings :| ) when my group went to the dance floor, someone gave me a red rose, asked for my name, asked if i had a boyfriend and if SHE can have my number O_o;;

O_o

actually, i DIDNT give my number. I just go like, "um, you wouldnt mind if you wait here?" then me and my friends skittered off XD it so happens i just had it with these girl to girl infatuations O_o;; it strikes me like freaky, ive seen alot way back in my highschool days. I could take strange compliments but not give my number O_o

one strange comment i got is when i went to school in a bit feminine getup, this colleague---that claims Im her personal paparazzi O_o-- and said like, "Why are u dressed like a girl? I want to see you dressed boyish!"

I was carrying a guy vest at that time, and she urged me to wear it :+

weirdness!!

Next time, perhaps just be mature and suave and say "thanks, but I just date boys".

RAVENOUS: thats like freaky, man.

-+ Ei, I'll be unfair with rpd-girl if I don't share you what I said to her in regards to the term freaky. Please try not to use that word when describing crossplayers even gender-bending stuff ok? Besides, you are into yaoi aren't you? I was expecting that you'd be open-minded with these things. =] +-

KARISU-SAMA: Next time, perhaps just be mature and suave and say "thanks, but I just date boys".

-+ I agree with Karisu-sama. There's nothing bad with being utterly frank than hating something or someone in secret. =] +-

KAS: I take it as a compliment if a girl asked me out.. but that's just me.

-+ Anyone should, as long as the person means no harm, I don't think it is a reason for anyone to be repulsed. Being admired is not a contagious disease for us to shun it. In fact, the person being admired by both sexes should be proud because not only that his beauty charms the opposite sex but he is also beautiful in his gender's eyes. Unless the person is a transparent homophobic then I have no say to that because ppl have their own personal likes and dislikes. =] +-

Oh....Katsucon was a blast as I dressed as Inuyasha and everyone thought I was a Male Inuyasha....I of course straped myself down really good and wore fake sharpened nails. My now friends were dressed up as Yuyu hakisho characters (all girls dressed as guys) Well One was dressed a Hieh and she always ran up to me to *twik* my hears. She eventually caught me alone and ask me to the dance *Holding my clawed Hand*!!!! I immediatly stoped and said....Before this goes any further...I'm a girl.....It was funny either way. :)

Check out my costume in my photo gallery....

If you are going to use tape, I reccomend taping over a tank top or T-shirt or something that you can hide.
Tuck it under the tape, or...this is hard to explain, but I do know what I mean!

If you'd like a better method that is not very expenseve, PM me and I will tell you, ok?

Man, I have a good crossplay story that didn't even involve me crossplayin anywhere. I was goin ta Disney with my friends and I was dressed pretty normal, just had beenie on me head As we was walkin through the turnstile (I think that's how ya spell it... probably not) The guy takin tickets was like "Here you are sir.... ma'am.... sir..... ma'am..... sir" I was finally like "It's ma'am." He looked quit embarressed after that.. And on another occassion I was meetin my friend's mum for the first time as we dropped her off and come to find out later that my friend's mum thought I was my other friend's boyfriend. That cracked me up.

Hmm...I suddenly remembered last AQ2K2...

I was dressed as LUCIFER, Lost Angel version, and the event was all finished. My friends decided to go home after spending some time at Starbucks so I took a cab home as well. When I reached my place I gave this cab driver the money, but he faced me and said: "Ang ganda ninyo ho pala ma'am."

Translation: "You look so beautiful ma'am."

I deepened my voice, almost that of a man's, then I replied:

"Wag mo akong tawaging ma'am. Hindi ako ma'am."
Translation: "Don't call me ma'am. I'm not a woman."

He gave me that surprised look. And while he was scratching his head in bewilderment, I stepped out of the cab then I gave him my sweetest Lucifer-trademark smile, trying so hard not to laugh, because he looked like he just saw a monster. ~lol~

Another unforgettable LUCIFER experience last AQ2K2 was when I had to think of a quick skit since I was chosen as one of the finalists. I held the mic and while giving the audience that Lucifer piercing stare, I spoke: "Are you a fan of GACKT?!" in a thundering tone. Surprisingly, the audience, most of them girls, screamed in affirmation. And I spoke: "I will sing you a line from his song "Mizérable". When I started singing, I imitated GACKT's style whenever he performs as I throw my adherent and seducing glance to the audience.

I could hear the girls screaming: "GAKUTO-SAMA DAISUKI!!!" >_<

But honestly...after that...I couldn't even face the crowd. ~_~v I guess....when you're really in character all hell breaks loose..but after that seemingly trance-like state you just wanna bite on your sheets at night wishing it was but a dream. XP

4 years ago, when i cut my hair really short, long bangs and it trails up behind my ears and the back was shaved, we were in orch class when we had a Sub teach. I wore baggy clothes, and my friend, Who i've known since the 3rd grade, and i started wrestling in the back for fun. The teacher shouted "YOU BOYS STOP FOOLING AROUND!" LOL, the entire class went silent and i went like "um ok..."

i guess at AWA 8, my boyfriend and i were sitting on a bench on the second floor of the convention center close to the elevator. I was dressed up as Leon, and my bf was dressed up as GenkeGengar (sp). He took off his helmet and i wanted to cuddle and huggle him but couldn't harm his boxes. So i kissed him and stuff, a group of guys just got off the elevator and started staring @ us. "Pssst is that a Guy? Are doing Yaoi??" I got really embarssed from the fact i didn't have my jacket on and my shirt was tucked in, so my chest was hidden. LOL i fooled them.

Another story is that this girl wanted to buy my Leon costume from me, and When i mentioned "Boyfriend" to her, she was wondering if i was gay. Though my hair is down... She still thought i was a guy... am I too Boyish lookin?

Heehee, I think I've broken a few girls hearts when they found out I was a girl. It's amuses me to no end though, I need ta start keepin a list. Actually at the moment a friend of mine (who did Sora when I did Riku) has gotten IMs that range from people thinking I'm her boyfriend, to people thinking we're both guys and datin to the weird ones that i don't even wanna go into what they talk about. It's all amusing though, cracks me up every time I hear about a new case.

Don't you think that's a little mean-spirited? Being amused at breaking hearts? You're talking about people here, do not reduce them to notches on a bedpost.

While you can be amused by someone mistaking you for a boy (hey, I am) being amused at other's misfortunes does not sit well with me.

Kas

Yea.. I agree with Rosiel.. that is kinda mean.. I mean what if you go up to a guy or girl that you find interested and he/she shot you down. Just don't belittle them.. I usually just smile and politely say whom I'm cosplaying.

>Don't you think that's a little mean-spirited? Being amused at breaking hearts? You're talking about people here, do not reduce them to notches on a bedpost.

Sa, sa. You're takin how I wrote the sentence in a completely different way. I find it amusing that people are constanty, and I strain on the word constantly, mistaking me for a guy (even when I dress normally, this isn't a con only happening). I'm not amused that I'm breaking their hearts. I use the term "amused" very loosely, but then again you people dont know me so how would you know that. And even after that fact I am freindly to almost anyone who does, I would never belittle a person for thinking I'm a guy.

Let me give you my best example. I met this girl when I was in one of my costume and she thought I was a guy an hoped I was single. She found out I wasn't (in either of the cases) and I was still friendly with her. I wasn't going to laugh in her face, and nor do I in anyone elses. I'd feel like a jerk if I did. Currently that very girl is one of my best friends.

Guess I oughta watch how I word my sentences on this forum, kinda forget people can't tell the difference in how the speech is formed when it's only words. Maybe tha'ts why I don't write on forums very often. Oh well.

Don't worry lynch. You didn't say anything wrong. I knew exactly what you meant first time through. Not to insult or throw off on anybody, but some of the people here are simply too uptight and don't seem to realize that some things are written in a jovial manner. Not that it's a bad thing, it's just a little inconvenient for those of us who like to joke.

(case in point, I shouldn't have to apologize in advance for what I say, yet I just did twice for fear of being misconstrued, lol)

All my crossplays end up being funny--because my mom thinks it means I'm a lesbien. XDDD

When I was Duo, she thought he was a girl, but when I told her I was being a guy, her reaction, "Are you trying to tell me something?"

When I was Dilandau, her reaction, "But he's a MAN!"

When I was Ren, "Well... atleast he looks like a girl anyways..."

When I was Sakuya, "Are you sure you're not a lesbien?"

When I was Shawn Michaels, "Do you want to be a wrestler?"

My mom's hillarious. XDD So far none of my costumes have made me a convincing male, but I did have one incident where a guy working in a card shop thought I was a guy (and I was just shopping there, no costume). When he realized his mistake, he was BEGGING me to forgive him. XD

My mom is okay with my crossplay, but still thinks I'm a lesbien. Meanwhile, my dad hates it. Especially my Shawn Michaels costume, which shows my stomach and has a heart on the crotch of the pants. He calls the costume "disgusting". Hehe.

When I was Cleopatra at a costume party ( I know its not anime, but it was CROSS-whatever) A guy I had never met before thought I was pretty, and asked my friend if she could get my phone # for him. She laughed, and told him I was a guy^^ I "mock" Hit on him the rest of the evening. He was so embarassed

Greetings everyone!

I am very new to this board and fairly new to cosplay, although I have yet to cosplay as my own gender myself (just seems to work out that way)! ::grin:: Of course, my funny stories aren't about me, they're about a couple of my friends. :)

We went as a fairly large cast last year and one of the announcers made the comment as one of our school'girls' got on stage, "Wow, you make a great schoolgirl!" In the photos people will comment that they can't believe he shaved his legs so well and the shot of him being carried by one of our other male cosplayers has elicited some amusing reactions.

However, the most amusing crossplay story I have is probably when we returned from the convention I mentioned and a friend of mine was showing the pictures to her aunt. Her aunt asked a question about the tall 'guy' in the shot. My friend asked, "What tall guy in the shot? You already know the tall guy in the shot."

Her aunt pointed to one of our crossplaying females in the back row. "This guy."

My friend, in disbelief, mentioned my friend's name (which also happens to be androgenous).

"Is that his name?"

She explained to her aunt that it was actually a girl. I don't think her aunt believed her. ::grin::

Okay, so I wasn't really crossplaying but it's kinda funny, I guess.

I was in this play (playing a guy though but I still had my very girlie body) and we were waiting back-stage. I act kinda manly sometimes, (dark voice, the way I walk, talk and the way I sit with legs far apart) and I did that day. So me and a few other people that I didn't know were talking and suddenly this girl asked me if I was really a girl? (as a joke I guess) I wanted to have fun, so I got all serious and said "a little bit of both". The girls I was talking suddenly stopped laughing and just stared at me. One of the girls said "eh, okay" I don't think she knew what to say, but she left I was talked on with a guy I know (he know's I'm a girl). I don't rhink she knew hwat to say since I looked like girl, but acted like a guy *LOL*
