One of my good friends (the one pictured with me in my non-cosplay pics actually) recommended to me that a good character I look like and would like would be the catholic vampire hunter in Hellsing. I think Alexander was the name he gave me.

Problem... I have
A.) Never seen the series.
B.) Never heard about the series.
C.) Know about as much about the series as I know about advanced string theory. No. Thats not true. I probably know less about it then that.

So that being said, would someone here give me the cliff notes version of this Alexander character, and ever better, could someone link me to some pictures of him so I could see for myself?

Is he good? bad? cool? dorky? tall? short?

Since I know nothing, any help is more then I started with :toothy:

He's a priest with a weird British/Scottish accent. He's relatively tall, blonde, has a scar on his face, glasses, and can be considered a rival to Alucard. Pick up some of the manga volumes, you'll be able to get a lot more from the character in those than in the anime.

Here's the concise version (plus a picture, though it doesn't do him justice): http://www.absoluteanime.com/hellsing/alexander.htm

He's actually very tall, blonde, has green eyes, glasses...ilikeyaoi mentioned mostly everything about his appearance already. Also, he's rather cocky, from what I gathered (certainly ready and willing to challenge Alucard and the rest of the Hellsing organization, if it weren't for the Vatican's orders). The link kinda sums up his character, for the most part.

I'm only familiar with the anime, so I can only give limited information based on what I know from that. He's much like Alucard, in my opinion, only he's a regenerator instead of a vampire.

(also, he's a paladin, not a priest)

He works at an orphange. He's both priest and Paladin. He has a great passion for "Doing God's bidding" (as he would say) And is very persistant in doing so. He's almost obsessive about it. But he does have his own way of thinking aside from what the Vatican (mainly Maxwell) Believes. If you read the Maga's you will get a better understanding of him. He hates vampires and anyone who works along side with then (The Hellsing Orginazation) and has no qualms about killing anyone who stands in his way as long as he feels justic has been served.

He's a fanatic about it. I rather like his Character, because he seems to still have a sence of reaspect for his foes. And he doesn't kill women or children...I don't want to spoil it for you...lol....but he could have Killed Sir Integra, yet held off....twice. He is a good character....He really is...

Well...if you don't mind spoilers...I could go into further detail if you wish....just ask.

I don't mind spoilers since I doubt i'll be getting around to the manga or anime anytime soon, but PM would probably be best so folks browsing by the thread don't see spoilers.

(and thanks all of you for the help!)

"Ah dinnah liek it!"
Thats what he said when Hienkle and Yumiko were all wanting to off Sir Integra...who is a girl...

Basically, all you need is the hair, glasses, scars, white shirt and pants, grey trench coat and a purple scarf like many priests have...

he is a pretty cool cat, save the whole "god" thing...I'll spare you my spiel...

I'd say go for it...

http://www.bloodknight.net/Anderson.html

All the images of Anderson you could possibly want, and a bowl of cheerios.

Key things you should know about Anderson:
-Fanatical about destroying vampires, even if he's in public or innocent bystandards can be killed
-He CAN control himself around vampires but ONLY if he's been given a specific mission to do...though that doesn't stop him from getting in a few punches for fun
-He uses three weapons...one, the bayonettes, two, pages of the Bible which he can weave and use like ropes, three, Biblical pamphlets which he can use to bind his vampiric enemies to a certain location or to mass around and vanish within, like a magician vanishing in fog
-He carries with him a long box/case, within which is the fabled Elena's Nail, which looks more like a big wooden spike than a nail
-He has a habit of speaking off random Biblical phrases that suit whatever given situation he's in
-His being a regenerator means he's basically got the same problem as X-Men's Wolverine, being as there's no real way to tell how old he is without documentation...he was the mentor of all three Iscariot members, including his later boss, Enrico Maxwell - he also fought during WW2 and looked exactly the same then, as he does now
-Always grinning, unless someone is taking advantage of God's will...as if proclaiming to be God themselves...at which point he will bow out of that situation and go about things in his own way
