I'm not sure if this will happen or not, but I'm looking to see how much interest there is.
Would there be any Lolitas out there, going to Detour, who would like to meet up for a "tea party" (or more practically, lunch/dinner with a 'tea' theme) during the con? I was thinking either Friday or Sunday afternoon, when there wasn't much of anything going on at the con. But time and location are far from decided yet. As I said, this is still just looking to see what interest there is in an outing of this sort.

There haven't been any responses here, but there have been on the detour site. So, just to let more people know in case they're reading this board, there will be a lolita gathering, for some fluffy fun. ^_^
Details are below.
You are all invited to join us for a special Lolita Unbirthday Party!
We'll have tea and "cake" (pie, muffins, cookies) at Perkins, while enjoying some fellow Lolita company.
When and where?
We'll meet on Friday Evening at 10:00 in the lobby of the hotel, then carpool over to Perkins (83rd and Lyndale) at 10:15. If anyone meets us at the resteraunt instead of gathering first, they should arrive no later than 10:30. We'll have reservations for "the unbirthday lolita group."
What to wear?
We'd love to see anyone and everyone who's dressed in Lolita, gothic lolita, gothic aristocrat, or kodona attire. The party is gothic and lolita themed, so don't be afraid of ruffles and lace if you attend!
If you're in a costume that isn't lolita, please try to modify your costume for this outing. Add a petticoat if you have a skirt. Put a bow or ribbon in your hair. don a top-hat, a bowtie, some pink mary-janes, or a long black coat. Anything goes, but be creative and have fun with it. It could be quite amusing to see Ed with a big red bow-tie, or an alice in wonderland hair-bow. ^_~
If you don't have anything at all, and can't make anything lolita or aristocratic, but wish you had something frilly: there will be artists in the artist ally who sell these things. (My friend in particular is making quite a few things to sell there) so you still have options.
Guys: This isn't only lolita, so you have plenty of options to come along. You need not cross dress (unless you really want to) and you can easily go more goth. Gothic is very welcome too.
What to bring?
No birthday, or unbirthday, is complete without presents! There will be an optional unbirthday gift exchange for those who want to participate. Gifts should be small, and around $1 in value. They may be home-made. They may be purchased. The key is small and silly. Think plastic army men with ribbons tied to their guns, bouncy balls, plastic spiders, or a tiny heart-shaped pillow you made with lace around the edge.
This is a family event, with no age limit, so do not bring anything silly in an adult way. (this should be obvious, but just so no one thinks along those lines.)
This gift exchange is optional, so if you do not want to trade silly gifts, you are still very wecome to come to the party.
Hope to see everyone there!
Further questions? post them here, I'll try my best to answer as soon as I can.
