View Full Version : Fullmetal Alchemist: Greed help!

Okay, I'm about as new as you can get to Cosplay. I don't even know how to sew, let alone make a costume or prop. I ordered Kadaj's costume awhile back and I'm super pleased with it. Fits like a glove...

But I'm getting off track here. I don't know if this is an inappropriate question or not, so if it is, forgive me. I'm in dire need of a Greed costume. Actually, just his jacket and undershirt. I'd like them to be a pleather/vinyl material, but again, I have no idea how to do anything when it comes to costumes.

I asked one guy to do it for me and he's asking an outrageous amount. Let's put it this way...for what he was asking for Greed, I could have bought three of Kadaj's costumes...and Kadaj's costume was not cheap.

If there's anyone who could help me somehow, I'd greatly appreciate it. I'm totally willing to pay if someone is willing to make it for me. I'm actually embarrased to ask that. I mean, there is loads and loads of talent bursting at the seams on this site and as for me...I have none.

Thank you for at least taking the time to read my post!

Well you are in luck, I'm a Greed cosplayer!

The vest/jacket, mine isn't leather..it's like a woolish thing, it's weird (haven't been able to find a good leather one :( ). But just go out to Goodwill and other thrift stores like it and look for leather vests. Then go to a fabric store and look for some fake fur (the fur on mine is around 2-3" long). Cut out a piece long enough to go around the collar, sew on or get someone to sew it on for you. My jacket is open at the top (Greed's is more closed) so I'm thinking of getting some interfacing to stiffen up the top so it will be more closed.

As for the shirt..we just went out and found a tight fitting shirt, cut off the sleeves, and called it good (except I forgot the red lines/circles, adding those on now). Just make sure to not forget those, they are important!

That picture there shows where they are located at fairly well.

Good luck!

Thanks a bunch! I'm trying to find a place to get the right looking faux fur for the vest now. Expensive!
