I am currently working on constructing a Zaku (Mobile Suit Gundam) suit for cosplaying in. I am having a little trouble with the lower legs and main body. The main problem is correctly creating the curved look of both pieces. If anyone has any suggestions or advice I would be apprecitive. Also if anyone has an old BMX bike helmet (with the full face gaurd) that they don't need or is broken please reply. Thanks a lot.

What exactly are you using to make the costume out of?

Currently the prototype is being constructed out of cardboard and posterboard that I plan to fiberglass resin to increase strength and give it a nice armor sheen. Oh and a healthy amount of duct tape as well.

If you've got acess to some polyurethane foam and leatherette you could use that to make the legs. I have a pattern of it somewhere in storage- I'll try to send it later (if my crew hasn't thrown it away yet).

I use craft foam with my tutorial, but i think this is applicable to carton or any pliable flat material.
