View Full Version : Kingdom Hearts 2: Namine reference pics?

04-07-2006, 12:09 PM
I've been looking all over, and the only pics I can seem to find of Namine are tiny face screenshots. I really need a reference for the bottom of her dress. Can anyone help me out?

ya know, I think I have some sprites of her somewhere from CoM. I'm cosplaying Namine too, so I'll be happy to share what I have. I'll IM you with the link once I find it. ^^

there's the intro movie to KH 2....you can pause the video whenever it gets to the Namine parts...not sure it will help too much as you only see the bottom of her dress a little bit..I'll look for more for you tho.

It should help, at least a bit.

Thank you guys so much! I've had trouble taking screenshots from Windows Media Player, but it might work on YouTube. Thank you again!

Please look forward to it!

Yeah! I'm having trouble finding shots as well! I managed to get a good look a the hem of her dress before I cut that part, thank goodness. O_o By the by, does anyone know where to find Namine's shoes? ^^;; I've looked in every shoe store, shoe website, dumpster, etc. but can't seem to find some. ; ; Heeelp...

They just look like a pair of white sandals to me with a little extra thickness on the bottom. Shouldn't be too hard to make...

Actually her shoes looked blueish to me. But even if they're not white,just take some chunky white sandals and paint them.

its hard to find a pair of white sandals, or any sandals for that matter, that fit namine's design. I know that most of the sandals right now, for some reason, have high heels so her shoes, I think, are the hardest part of this costume. ^^;;;;

This is the best pic you can get from Naminé, since you can see the scallopes of her dress and her sandals quite good ^^

Wow! That _is_ nice! ^^ Thanks Kairi! Now... to find out how to make sturdy sandals... @_@ I'm so dead...

This is probably going to make people laugh with such a dumb suggestion...but how about using wood then covering it in a more comfy material that's been dyed blue? You can nail the straps in the wood so they won't be going anywhere. I dunno, just a suggestion ^_^

Ahh, good luck! I cosplayed Namine at Anime Iowa last year and made the costume over the summer... it was difficult because there were really only Chain of Memories pictures out there, which sucked because they were little sprites. But yes, best of luck with that!

There's a difference between the scallops in Chain of Memories Namine`'s and Kingdom Hearts: II. But only by a slight difference. The ones in Chain of Memories are more rounded. Just a random fact I noticed. I could take a screen cap, probably, if anyone wanted.

The scallops are going to be soooo hard....do you guys suggest handsewing them? Or taping/gluing them? ^_^;

Crystalike - Actually, all you have to do is buy a white, stretchy, non-fraying fabric and cut the scallops at the bottom. But I have no idea where they sell that here, since I got mine in Taiwan... If you want you can always just sew on some lace at the bottom of the dress. ^_^;;

^_^; I'ma sewing noob. XD

I'd rather not sew lace onto the bottom of the dress...since I haven't seen any lace that perfectly matches what the scallops look like.

Crystalike: I'm pretty handy with coming up with simple solutions to sewing. If you'd like I could make you an easy-peasy turtorial for making Namine's dress. Just message me! :)

Also, for any Namine fans who want to know a good place to find the shoes, I stumbled upon these: http://www.shopnational.com/product.cfm/wc/501040/sgid/4171_
A couple of layers of sponged on 3-D fabric paint and a few star beads and there you have them!
If nothing else, they are a good refrence to those who want to custom make their own shoes.~

Please feel free to message me, anyone.

Note: I do everythign via hand-sewing. I'm afraid I can't help with a sewing machine.~

Yeah, I couldn't find any lace that matches the scallops either, so I had to cut them using that non-fraying fabric I was talking about. But seeing as how they don't really sell that here (at least I didn't see any), you can probably just still cut the scallops, but use some kind of overlock stitch to prevent it from fraying. Or you can hand sew some blanket stitches on the edges, too, just really tiny ones... I guess you could also try fray-block, but I'm not sure how great that'd turn out.

Yeah, I'm a sewing n00b myself, so I'm not really good at giving sewing advice. ^^;
