So Norah Jones basically swept the place....

what did you think of it?

were there any upsets you think?

I wanted Michelle Branch to win best new artist, but oh well.

I'm probably going to get some bashing for this, but I don't like Norah Jones too much.

It is nice, however to see that her music style is appreciated.

I missed it. Whheeee. Did hear some funny stuff about Avril Lavigne.

I was happy that Avril came away with nothing ^_^ Atleast that's what I heard, I didn't watch all night. I like Norah Jones and I'm glad she won so much. But Foo Fighters beat Queens of the Stone Age! That was a disappointment to me but I like them both so it's all good ^^

i very much dislike norah jones' song. i do not think that she deserved alot of what she got. there were many more artists that are much more talented. also there are many more who actually wrote thier own songs

I'm also glad that Avril walked away with not many (I think she might've gotten just one). The Clash tribute was great, but when they were tributing the people who have died since the last grammy awards, I almost thought they were gonna snub Dee Dee Ramone but they didn't. =)) I think they should've given the Ramones a tribute last year, because really, the Ramones influenced the Clash a ton, but oh well. I don't think they'll ever get enough appriciation from the music industry.

I personally don't like Norah Jones...well, I do enjoy her song, but still. She won best new artist, best female pop vocalist, album of the year, etc etc etc...I don't see how you can be all those things at once, ESPECIALLY when you've only made one song that hit the mainstream.

DON'T interpret that statement wrong, I DO NOT follow mainstream artists and mainstream artists alone..but when she was put against so many others who write their own songs, are music veterans, or have undergone wonderful transformations throughout their careers...granted I was glad to see her win SOME, it just doesn't seem like somene so dependent and new should walk away with SO MANY AWARDS.

Nora Jones doesn't write her own songs? I was sure she did. I haven't heard much of Nora, but I do like her style. I like all kinds of music, but I'm glad that her talent is being recognized.

It's great that she won. I love her music. :) yay for Norah Jones!

I didn't watch either but...I heard Norah Jones won all those categories from a friend and think it's kind of wack that she did happen to win all of those awards and, like lialia and Troppy siad, doesn't write her own songs, had only that one hit from her whole album all year, and like...how many other artists came out this year and "transformed" and all? I asked my friend if Christina Aguilera won any awards and she said none. That was kind of surprising to me. There's something about her that I like. And she is actually talented.

Anyhoot, with whatever rap/hip-hop/r&b categories there were...did Ja Rule and Ashanti win them all? And what about J-Lo?

(anyone remember how J-Lo won the hip-hop category for her pop song? What was it...Jenny from the Block?? GAWD!

Ashanti won one grammy. :)
