it is entirely possible that I am completely stupid... *pause* o_O.. um, yeah... cos like, yeah. i don't know anything when it comes to such topics... that stated.. @_@;;

as far as I know (see above for credibility) Alichino is only published in Japanese. so, all that i've read has just been fan done.. and just textual. which is great, and I'm glad to have it, but it'd be awesome to have the actual manga in english.

soo, I was just wondering if anyone knew of some sort of fan done manga translation with the pictures and whatnot there, or if I'm stupid and it's been published in english...

*shakes head* oy.

Manga Project (above link) is scanlating it, and chapters 1-3 are up on their site. Better grab 'em quick before they delete them, or you'll have to hunt the IRC channel. ^_~

Anytime. ^^ You can keep checking back for new releases.. and they've got some other great stuff up there too.

Aaagh! How could anyone bear to bend the spines to scan the manga for a scanlation? ;_; *hugs her precious Alichino*

...I don't let anyone borrow it except my spazzy friend - she's so bad about keeping her stuff new-looking that she took a recently-bought OST out of its bubble wrap just long enough to rip it onto her computer and make a copy, and then put it back in the bubble wrap ^^;; She's a bit scary...

Thanks for the scanlation link for this, though! *clicks*

Argh hate hate double posting. Don't mind me. T_T

I just noticed chapter 4 is up! Woo! I'm actually not following it myself.. ^^; Too much else to read. >_>

Alichino is so beautiful! *downloads chapters 3 and 4* ^^

Wow, some people know about Alichino. *claps hands* It is a very beautifully drawn manga, isn't it? I only have volume 1, though. I have translations for volumes 1 -3. I forgot what the site that hosted is, though. When I remember, I'll post it (if you want me to.) ;)

Alichino has GOT to be one of the most beautiful manga I have ever seen. The story is deep and drowns you with in it and the art is just beyond belief. It's seriously a must for those who love dark, beautiful stories and for those who have a deep, DEEP, appriciation for tha beyond gorgeous artwork in it.

I could go on forever about it... *-*

Update! Chapter 5 is up on MangaProject~ ^^

02-28-2003, 04:59 AM
Alichino is indeed the most beautiful Manga I've ever seen. The artwork is detailed and consistent all throughout. It reminds me of Interview with the Vampire, story-wise. Kaori Yuki [Edit: Kouyu Shurei] is my favourite mangaka, I have seen some of her other works, but they are even more obsucre than Alichino. I'm planning to cosplay Ryouko pretty soon as I could not resist the way the outfits were designed. As I have mentioned before from another thread, it's a stunning eclectic mix of period costumes.

02-28-2003, 10:13 AM
Yuki Kaori is my favorite mangaka too, Ghost! I'm done with Tenshi Kinryouku, and I'm on God Child now. (Currently read through volumes 1-5, plus the recent chapters in Hana to Yume.) Have you read God Child yet? It's crazy.
What I still don't get is that some people say Yuki Kaori and Shurei Kouyu's art looks the same. It does not! Both of their styles are very unique.
But yes, Shurei-sensei's artwork is fabulous. I wonder if there are only 3 volumes. Since Eyes magazine got cancelled about a year ago, her artwork hasn't been out since. Hmmmm, I wonder if she's still drawing.

The fourth volume has been pending for some time now. -_-

02-28-2003, 07:16 PM
Speaking of pending volumes...what the heck happened to Yami No Matsuei? Matsushita-sensei has drawn enough chapters in Hana to Yume to make YnM volumes 12 and 13. And even enough for 14. I wonder if those are pending too. (They must be, I see no other reason why Yami No Matsuei volumes 12 hasn't come out for 2 years now.)

Ghost --

when are you planning on wearing your Ryouko costume? Cos I'm making two different Myoubi costumes... one for A-Kon and one for AMA. ^_~

03-01-2003, 09:33 AM
Wow, chapter six is already up on MangaProject... They're just shooting them out, now. :X Perhaps I should try and follow it? ^-^;

>> Kirschwasser - What I meant was Kouyu Shurei, the mangaka of Alichino. My mistake. It's so easy to interchange their names. It must be a mental problem of mine. God Child is insane, so is Dr. Jezebel. I agree, Shurei-sensei's work are more detailed, consistent and grandiose than Kaori Yuki's. I didn't think it was possible before. LoL

>> Lady Somairot

I would love to see pictures of your Myoubi costume! I am currently in asia. I am only able to attend cons within New York this year though as I will be coming from England and they have very few cons there. X_X

I just got it recently, thanks so much for these translations!! I'm so so so happy to find them! I love the artwork in these, I hope they come out with vol 4 soon!

Ghost --

as soon as they're finished, I will!!! ^_^ *looks at calendar* don't have THAT much time before I need them finished, so... it won't be too long! ^_^;;

03-02-2003, 11:53 PM
oh, on that one translation site, do you have to go on irc in order to get all the volume 2 chapters of alichino? or am I looking in the wrong place?

03-03-2003, 03:00 AM
Lady Somairot, I would rather see it in person and be Ryouko ^_^ I guess the pictures would be enough for now. With you as Myoubi and her intricate gowns, I am certain it would be nothing but ravisihing O.O

I am looking forward to the continuation of the manga. I hope to see more of Shurei-sense's works. A friend mentioned that if it were to be animated, they are planning to make it Final Fantasy or Excalibur CG style.

Volume 2, Chapter 7 is up.

Aimee, right now chapters 1-7 are all available from the site main page (just click the titles), but they'll be gone soon to conserve space... So get them today and you won't have to worry about hunting down chapters on IRC. ^^

03-03-2003, 12:56 PM
oooh, I get it, they mean the second part of vol 2 is "chapter 7" its' not the 7TH chapter of vol 2. I thought I had somehow missed like 5 chapters of Vol 2. silly me. :)

got them all! thanks a lot for bearing with my scatterbrained-ness! This is so great! I bought the manga thinking I'd never know the story!!

Haha, don't worry -- when I first started going to MangaProject I thought that too, with a different manga. "Volume 2 Chapter 5? Oh no!! Where's 1-4 of volume 2?!... waiiiit..." ^_^

Hi, I just want to say that there is a pretty good scanlation site that finished volume three of Alchino. It's at sakura-crisis.net
