Okay, METRO is coming closer and closer!! And the first big event of the weekend is the Fantasy Masquerade!

So I ask this:
~Who's going?
~What are you wearing?
~Did you make your mask yet? If you did, share!!

Here's my answers:
~Yes, I am going (sorta have to... )
~I'll be wearing Freija Crescent
~And I have my mask AND the one for my friend's daughter made!!

Mine: Clicky, clicky! (http://images.cosplay.com/showphoto.php?photo=684382)

Hers: Clicky, clicky! (http://images.cosplay.com/showphoto.php?photo=684381)

Lets see what C-Com people are going! It's going to be AMAZING!

~I am going x3 With two of my non C.Com friends.
~I shall be Reno. Whee?
~I... I still have no idea what to do for my mask *sobs*

My friends are going as formal (and wholly clothed *gasp*) Queen of Hearts from Miyuki-chan in Wonderland, with a mask made of cards to mask; and she's dragging her boyfriend in as a male-version of one of the roses. Well, we're trying, at least. He may still back out. ^^;

You know... you *might* be able to use the goggles Reno wears as a mask... Ask Roy or Rudy!!!

I have some questions actually, which are not answered by the FAQ:

1. What type of music will be played during the ball?
2. Will there be a request line (for music)
3. How long is it going to last?

As for myself, I'll actually be around since I'm the ride for several people out of the con. Attire will consist of an unknown content at this time. My aunterage (sp?) on the other hand, will be dripping in sex appeal.

I'm re-wearing my Rydia Ballgown (with a nicer wig), and will be accompanied by a hot, fine, sexy Edge. Life is good. My mask is done except for a few odds and ends added onto it, still gotta make the Edge mask though...but it's fairly easy, anyway.

I'll be wearing Lani from Final Fantasy IX! Yeah, that's about all I can say now. XD!

From what I know, I believe the masq ends at midnight? For music.. I have no idea, I'd guess a mix of slow music and fast paced music? But really, I have noooo idea! :D! I don't think there's a request line for music, but I'm not sure again. :D

I haven't heard anything about a request line for the music, but I do know there will be a range of music being played from many genres (last I heard Rudy made the song list, and I know he's going to be in the booth with Fax, and his range of music is quite large).

The event itself lasts from 8pm to 12pm and will transition into Club Metro at that time. =^_^=v

I'm going as Jessica from Dragon Quest 8! I haven't even thought about my mask yet, though. xD I have to get started on it.

I'm going, hope to have Squall's Seed Dress Uniform for the Masquerade. Not sure what I'm going to do for a mask.

~I'm going! ^.^ Some of my friends are coming with me as well.
~I'm wearing a purple/redish wine sparkly dress.
~I haven't made it yet, but I plan on it soon. It's going to be a fox/kyubi mask because I'll be going as Naruto to the ball. ^_^

Aww it ends at 12? Do we get to see the ending of the fairy tale story before that though? Unfortunetly I'm going to have to leave early. =\

I think it's going to all end at the end of the night, or close to it.

I'm wondering, is there going to be any where we can leave our belongings and return and get them later? Kind of like at clubs/parties where you leave your jacket at the front with a number and such. Then later you pick it up. It's only a half-hour drive from where I live to the convention so I'm not staying in any near-by hotel. I wont be able to leave my things in a car, or in a hotel room, and I can't return home just to drop off some things. So is there a possibility that they'll be holding things for people? I doubt it, but it'd be very convenient.

I haven't heard. I believe we will have tables set up where you can leave your things, but they are your responsibility. Or you can just not bring too much with you... *shrugs*

I plan on going to the Ball because my friends want me to, but it all depends on if I can get a mask in time. My outfit's just going to be a femme suit, maybe with some embellishments. I've been too low on money to be able to really make an outfit for it, or even a cosplay for the con. =/

Although, I can't think of any FF chars I could pull off...besides Tifa, and she's just not appropriate for a Masquerade, I don't think. XD

Wallmarket Tifa, if done tastefully, is appropriate for the Masquerade, I think.

No law says you should dress as a FF character, since is is supposively not a Final Fantasy Ball.

I'm doing an Elia aqua blue gown with matching mask and some embellishments. [Gotta represent earlier FFs]

I'm hoping the masque will not have quite so many slow songs in its first year. A couple hours into the last ball, my date dragged me to the game room briefly to counter his boredom before the event concluded. I will no doubt be there to see the conclusion of this one. Other than that minor gripe, my past experiences have been great.

You aren't required to cosplay, or wear a Final Fantasy costume at that. As long as you are dressed formal (I like the femme suit idea, actually). =^.^=v

And there isn't anything saying you have to have a fancy mask. Michael's sells blank ones for less than $5 (most are like $1.50-$3), and party stores have some premade and blank for a bit more. There will also be a "mask making workshop" headed by our cute mascot, Nikki, where you can make a mask. OH! Last I heard we will be selling masks as well for a dollar or two. =^_^=v

Its too bad you don't have what we had at the Manga Masq, which was a face painter that (in the case you didn't have a mask, and didn't want a generic black one), would literally paint the mask onto your face. I saw a ton of people with that, seemed to do quite well.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but what are the exact rules on the masks? Could a strip of fabric with eyeholes be used? Or a full face mask? Or must they strictly be masquerade type masks?
Also, would a strapless black sparkly dress that goes to the knee be considered formal enough? Or do girls have to wear full length ballgowns? Thanks :)

1 - Yep, I'll be there with my fiancee

2 - I'll be wearing a Formal Alice in Wonderland gown/dress with a chess board decorated mask. My fiancee is going to be wearing a suit with a silver tie and a mirror mask to be my "Looking Glass" ^_^ (ChibiKitusne - tell you're friend to keep an eye out for us, I'd love to take pics with her ^.^)

3 - My mask is not yet finished, but will be soon.

The only real rules for the masks (besides having one) is that it can't be bondage. There are people on the METRO forums that want to do the whole Zorro motif, and I wouldn't doubt a few people going as a member of the Crazy 88s.

And that dress sounds just fine. =^_^=v

I'd recommend people to bring a small bag/ wallet or purse, since most of us nowdays need to have driver's license/id and cell phone on hand and money to buy a ticket of course. They did not have any such service previously, so if you leave your items somewhere you are taking risk.

Otherwise- My mask and outfit, I'll be very aqua and easy to find. Can't wait until the Masque.
