I dunno. I thought it would be fun to be glomped. Ya know, first-timers. XD

But was I wrong! Some people just come up to you and squeeze one of the most fragile parts of your costume!

The toilet paper roll almost came off, and my mom had to help me fix it fifteen minutes before we left for the con on Sunday! D:

Had bad experiences at AnimeFest? D:

Well..I guess something that really sucked was that my left ninja shoe came apart. I think that was my own stitching job that did it, but it made me really upset.
Luckily I repaired it today! So It's all good. <3

I didn't get glomped any, but some guy in the Dealer's Room pointed at me, yelled "Teacher!", and hugged me really hard as Izumi. My chest kind of hurt afterwards. :X

The only bad experience I had was with Creepy Stalker Guy on Friday and Saturday. Oh, and getting a water bottle thrown at me and my friends by a hobo while walking down to the West End. He cursed at us and told us to go home and we had to run in front of traffic to get away from him. D:

OH! And I ruined one of my Al gloves with the room iron. It melted a half of the middle finger of one glove. Those were official merchandise and I can't get them anymore! I'm still in mourning. RIP Al Glove. ;.;

I always have one or two things happen to my cosplays. The handle to one of my swords broke but that was easily fixed. No worries over it since it was still usable. Some of the cosplays I wore were last minute or have been used thus they liked to come apart on me. I was glomped a few times by one girl but she asked.

Seems like regular con stuff to me no matter how frustrating it is for a split second. =P

when ever i was glomped people typically asked first, which is very nice at times. But the thing that cought me off guard was a "stealth glomp." At anime fest i was standing around talking to some friends when someone came up from behind, glomped me and ran off. >>; very freaky

I wasn't glomped....just hugged by Kabuto fangirls......now my friend dressed as Jiraiya....HE got glomped.....infact.....the first glomp hurt his back for the rest of the weekend.....because he braced for the glomp and caught the glompee in mid air and bent backwards....almost falling over....if he fell, maybe he would be ok.....

Man, I think the only time I've ever been like hardcore glomped was last animefest while walking in my Toboe costume. I was walking to the dealers room when someone grabbed around my waist, lifted me in the air and swung me around like a stuffed toy. I turned around and we apologized, but it was kinda funny, but still painful.

This year, lucky everyone asked, and I didn't have anything that would need to be fixed, except for my Freya ears on Monday. Though, when I got 'glomped' by all the homestarrunner.com girls, they like nearly attacked me, and that was when I was in my staff shirt because I knew who they were, and they were uber happy. But, I don't usually hug or glomp people, unless they did something nice for me.

Though, when I was Peppita my shoe started to fall apart after only a few minutes wearing it, cause I bent the sole too far back. ;.; I was like, easy fix... then realized I left the hot glue gun at home. -.-; AH well, it was at least still wearable.

I've only been glomped unannounced once, and luckily it was with my Misa cosplay, where there aren't any delicate props or clothing articles. O_o
Other than that, it's usually just hugging, and people ask me first. o:

I was in the sweatshirt. We kept turning around because you were talking about some games we've heard of. We weren't whispering about you, we were whispering about some rude cosplayers in front of us (The Sasuke and Itachi ones).

To get BACK ON TOPIC; I'm changing this to a Cosplay-trophic Incidents and Rude People at AnimeFest topic. X3 So we can talk about all of it. XD

For the most part, people hugged nicely/softly rather than hard and usually asked beforehand. I only got glomped once and that was when I was going up to my room to change out of Kuja and this guy came out of the elevator and glomped me, knocking me to the floor. x.x;

I'm happy to say that I've only been glomped once. ^^; It was at A-kon... 15 or 16 at an FMA photoshoot and I was playing Hawkeye and an Envy decided to glomp me and I fell over. I'm just glad nothing tore and that I was OK. That Envy had an impressive running start. x_x

I don't normally allow people to glomp me without them asking beforehand since I have a bad knee. I had lots of people hug me at this con but nothing that I would concider a glomp and certainly not a running tackle glomp. I keep my ear out for those and normally catch them before it happens, which confuses the person attempting the running glomp.

I'll be brief because theres already a thread that stemmed from my Otakon experience. Basically, I had two people who glomped me by jumping almost directly on me, pulling on my Sephy shoulder pads...which cracked the left one in 2 places. We had to make a whole new shoulder pad before A-Fest. As well, someone was looking at my Masamune and against my word swung it...in the direction of the floor...which has it in my room in 2 pieces now. But all is well. ^_^ Everything was fixed/remade.

Glomping=teh suck. I hate having to repair things because of idiot running glomps/stealth glomps. I was not glomped at this a-fest, but my save the queen sword got manhandled and broken in a few places. Blah for disrespectful fangirls/fanboys. Just because someone is dressed as your favorite character, does not give you the right to tackle/glomp/molest/destroy their costume in anyway. X.x I agree with cat-chan.

Glomping is...er...well, it depends. Lik, if you're getting jumped on from behind, like poor Fuery, that's not cool. But if you see someone running toward you, then you at least have time to prepare for it XD

But I've never been attacked glomped, just a lot of people asking for hugs, which is always nice. Asking is good.

Yeah a few girls said that they wanted to glomp me as the Hokage, but they were really more like hard hugs than a glomp.

One girl was actually following me around the dealers room for about 5 mins, when I was Mousse, before actually asking for a hug. It'd be creepy, but she was just too cute, so meh......

Mmm my friend glomped me my second A-fest by running about 30 feet calling my name in the last 2 seconds giving me only enough time to turn around and catch him as he leapt into the air and into my arms. That one was a stunner. Other than that the only one that stood out was this years A-Fest when I was Zaraki Kenpachi, a cat girl was meowing at me as I walked toward her in the hallway and instead of stopping I continued walking up to her (towering over her) trying to intimdate her out of my way when instead she glomped me. It was interesting if nothing else.

I have been asked for hugs (very strange for me) Ed did surprise me from my left rear, she evidently ran up and hugged me around the neck and said PAPA !!. It was quite a suprise. I did not see her comming and did not hear her this she said papa ! I swivled left and say her an looking radical edward eye to eye with out notice WILL suprise you, It was a great way to intruduce herself (not don't try that at work ;) )

Actually, yes. There were three occassions in which it actually broke; one from me leaning on it wrong, another from my friend Logan hitting it and causing a crack I didn't see til it finally gave way, and the last from someone running down our aisle during the cosplay competition and smashing into it. In all three cases, it broke near the junction of the 'head tooth' and the main body. Fortunately for the last one, HackerEd, CatChan and various other people whipped out their cell phones and glowsticks to give me light whilest I repaired Zabimaru. Aside from that, the only real damage it took came from the concrete sidewalks and whatnot which caused some small dents and scratches on the rearmost pieces of the hilt. I am proud to say, however, that the half-gallon of replacement/repair parts I brought along were never needed. All the pieces came back as they were and I did not lose a single one.

I wasn't glomped at A-fest luckily but my two friends were and it was slightly horrifying to see that since they haven't developed a survival instinct for that yet.

Saturday night/ Sunday morning we were wandering around before I had to go to my shift in one of the video rooms. At one in the morning we didn't think it would be all that bad to be out in the cosplays for the day. (Me as Elena, a Reno, and a Count D) We were proven wrong the moment we entered the Artist Alley and the Count D and Reno both got tackled by surprise.

It wouldn't have been so bad if it was a one time thing in that time frame. Only it wasn't, because the same group of girls followed us and would randomly pounce Reno and D without warning. There was one point where Reno nearly fell down the flight of stairs into the Game Room because someone tackled glomped her when she was at the top of the stairs.

Hugs and asked for permission glomps I can handle, but when it's done without any warning it shocks me a bit since it was only by luck that no actual injuries were brought upon. Makes me somewhat glad that it seems that Elena is not a well liked character from Final Fantasy VII and as such didn't get people wanting to glomp or hug me all that much.

Well, I didn't really get glomped. I got people running up from behind me and hugging me while I was playing DOOM, which was weird.

But my other friend did get attacked and glomped and mobbed on mondy. I told him not to come with us in his stormtrooper armor, though luckily nothing was broken.

Though my flipping pistol almost bent itself at the clasp between the handle and barrel.

Hmm glomping at Afest... actually I got glomped at least once every day. Although in my Kairi costume I got more... Mostly from random KH cosplayers... And I got a few in my Talim, but I think people were a bit nicer about thhat one since it... well... would have been bad if anything popped out. xD

Although sadly, a peice of my keyblade broke when I got glomped at one point, but I can fix it when I get the materials again. It definitely could have been worse. ((O.O))

It was actually kind of funny for me...at a-kon I got glomped a lot as Kairi, just by myself (then followed by 'can i hold your keyblade?' x_x), but at A-fest, since my boyfriend was with me as Riku, people would run screaming up to him followed by a glomp, then would look at me and give me a pity hug like "Oh well I guess you're cool too." xD
Oh well. Amusing qualities help hide the rejection. ;__; lol

I got glomped a whole lot. xD There was one Naruto... On a leash. And he randomly came up and hugged me and I wasn't too fond of that... But that was the only time I really minded it. xP There was also a Chi (er... spelt right?) that hugged me, like... three times.

And this is a bit unrelated... But... There was a Gaara there that called me 'shorty' and I didn't exactly respond because... I just didn't. So she told me what to do and the next time she called me short, I tried to act like Ed, however... Al tried to hold me back and since she was, in fact, shorter than me we tripped over each other and fell. It was quite embarassing and I could tell Gaara thought we were pretty stupid. xD

Well, I just recently moved from Dallas (lived there my whole life) to Ohio, and I hadn't seen my boyfriend of 3 years for months untill AFEST. We made plans to go into Reunion Tower- talked to the head lady like 3 TIMES, and we got all dressed up nice (me wearing the main dress and shorts of my Sakura from Naruto costume xD) and she wouldn't let us in because we were under 21! I CRIED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HALL! I JUST BROKE DOWN... GRR! MEAN OLD LADY!

I LOVE GLOMPING, first of all I ask, and second of all, I am very small for my age so I tend to be a "safe glomper" but I glomped a Roy knocking him down completely! At a-kon this year, I glomped a 7 ft Final Fantasy cosplayer, I was the one with the damages! I bounced off him!:bouncer:

As a photographer, I have actually been on the receiving end of a GLOMP or two. Luckily I saw it coming. Cameramen don't generally like being glomped when we are carrying thousands in gear. Especially with my new setup. I will KICK first and ask questions later. GLOMPING me when I am hauling $3000+ in gear is an instant grounds for a BOOT to the face! I'll hug all day long if you ask but never glomp a photographer. You will get injured. :hafha:

Unfortunately, most glomps are from convention noobies and they'll just throw themselves at you without notice, screaming beyond frequencies unimaginable. I have that problem occurring outside of conventions, but the horror! The people at my school glomp me extremely hard and they're beginning to come to the conventions! They came last year and paid people to kiss them T-T Oh noes! Some won't even recognize me in costume and wigs and will go even more insane T_T

I like how most cosplayers & experienced con attendees ask first. Gets me prepared. Now, if anyone messes up my wire job for my CCS costume at AnimeFEST, my CCS wand will be infested with blood :D And, I shall also have a Rayearth sword to protect me on other days ^_^
