Hey-hey, everyone.

Guess I'll get right to the point here...

I'm currently getting ready to begin working on my KHII costume for a couple of group cosplays this coming year.

Well, I'm going as Riku, and I think I know what to do, having made most of my own costumes, but my poor Sora is at a loss for how to even begin.

If any veteran Sora cosplayers might be able to give me some suggetions to pass on to her, I'd really appreciate it.

I'd also appreciate a couple of suggestions for fabrics on my Riku costume. I was thinking for the black shirt, a sort of thick, stretchy black fabric could work (almost like the stuff they make wet suits out of and what not...if you know what I'm talking about.).

Suggestions on where to get cheap but good looking wigs would be great. The only good one I've found is around fourty dollars, so...A smaller sum would be awesome.

If you have any other suggestions for anything at all, I think you on behalf of my entire group (Riku, Sora, Axel, Roxas, Demyx, Olette, Kairi, and Zexion! :toothy: )!!

Well I can't help you with your Sora needs, but I think I can help you on some others.

First off, for the Riku top. Like you said thick and stretchy work well. The fabric you're going to want will definitely be a knit. So look in the knit wear sections of your fabric store for that. the thickness depends on how you want it to be. I suggest staying away from anything with a sheen or shine to it because Riku's top looks very dark and absorbs much more light than it gives off.

For the wigs, right now is the best time to find wigs. Go to a store that specializes in costumes and Halloween type accessories. I'm sure you can find one in your town since there tend to be atleast one everywhere. Look at those places first and try to find a decent synthetic wig. I doubt you want to be paying out the nose for a real hair wig as those tend to be VERY expensive. Both of the wigs I found for my Kairi were about $21 each and turned out great with the right styling.

Another note on the synthetic wigs, do not try to straigthen them using a flat iron or curl them with an iron. It will burn them and it will look bad. If you need to do any of that, you can straighten them atleast by putting a bandana over the hair and using the lowest setting on your home iron to do it. Also if the color isn't quite right for you, you can color it by putting the color for a sharpie in a spray bottle filled with water and spritzing it on the wig. We colored my friends' Roxas wig that way.

Since I did Kairi, my only suggestion for whoever is doing her costume is make sure the dress is light-weight and wear shorts or bloomers underneath. I say that because the halter top should be made out of material that's somewhat thick so that it's not see through, and if she's running around a lot, she'll want the shorts to be there. xD If she wants to make her keyblade, PM me about it.

I hope I helped you out a bit, if you want to talk to me about any other issues you might have through the process, I'll gladly help you out. Good luck!

Ooh, thankies. ^^

You reminded me about the wig thing...MY mom is taking me to a costume shop this weekend to hunt around for Halloween anyways...

Maybe I'll just do my Riku costume on Haloween. XP I get extra credit if I wear one to school...

Anyways. Thanks for the help. ^^

I did Anti-Sora for Otakon...

If your Sora wants to IM me, I'd be happy to talk to you/her whoever about any details. It'd take a long time to think and type everything here!

I remember you Jantra!! I spoke with you really briefly in the big, hallway with the slanty walls heading to the artists alley. ^_^

hmm...what form of Sora is your Sora going as?

As far as wigs go...I reccommend making sure the wig is a skin top one...anything else won't look very natural or fit as well. (skin tops are usually adjustable on the insides) and the wigs you buy around halloween time tend to only be made out of mesh on the inside and to have horrible fibers that tangle badly. >< And as Kissmedeadly said..definately don't use heat on wigs! They just kinda...curl up and die if you do...lol
When it comes to styling it...be sure to not use gels or pomades or mousse..those are made to work with real hair and they don't hold synthetic fibers at all.... The best stuff for gravity defying hairstyles is got2be glued's freeze spray! It comes in a bright yellow can that looks like an airhorn and is god-like in it's holding power!!

Ah, yes...the magical power of Got2Be hair products...I use them daily for the sexy spiked back of my hair-do. X3 Gotta love stuff that takes your hairdresser an extra fifteen minutes to wash out... >=D

Anyways. Our Sora is just doing the reuglar old form. Well, after he gets his new digs from the fairies and all that jazz.

Thanks for the suggestions...*writes them on a sticky note*
