I may be planning to take a gap year from university to study Mandarin in Beijing. I wanted to see if I could meet any cosplayers so I could get into my cosplaying while I'm in China. Anyone want a crazy English girl for a friend? :toothy:

Hi, good luck learning Chinese then.
My sis went to Beijing to study Mandarin some time ago too.
I may have to go there some time to improve my Mandarin as well.
(I am from Hong Kong)

Well, at least you can already read the characters plus you have way more tones in Cantonese right? Its gonna be hard work but totally worth it I bet. We might be planning on visiting Hong Kong this summer actually :toothy:

Yeah, I have always wanted to see Japan. I may travel there from China when I'm taking Mandarin. Shorter distance than from the UK lol

Oh, you're from UK. I was there studying for around 1 year.
Many nice ladies and gentlemen. The street in HK is just like UK in many ways.
I'm sure you will just feel like home.

Actually, I think GuangDongHua has four tones just like Mandarin does, right?
I'll be moving to China soon, not 100% sure where, but Beijing, Hangzhou, Ningbo, Chengdu and some others seem like candidates now. :bigtu:
