Hi! i'm in the process of selecting my materials for my gunner Yuna but right now i'm feeling a bit cheap and i don't want to buy a black pair of boots since most cost a pretty penny around this time.. the cheapest i found was about$40 but unless i plan on wearign them everday i really don't want to go that route + Yuna's gunner boots are a bit baggy around the ankle and most black boots are formfitting.. so question is:

does anyone know how to make a really good pair of Gunner boots? i've explored some tutorials but alot of them get kind of complicated.. any help??

Try having a look around charity shops and see if they have any that are close enough. Nearly all my cosplay shoes are from charity shops (or at least second hand). I have absolutely no experience of making boots.

Yunas boots are dark blue and not black... *sigh*

Yep, just search around for apparently dark blue boots. If there aren't any with eyelets and lacing, you can put in eyelets and then buy some white string/thread/whatever and weave it through. -noddy-

Yeah, they're navy. And I don't have any useful advice besides try ebay. Looking at online stores I wasn't able to find squat.(I'm going to be making her KH2 outfit) But I did manage to eventually luck out and find a decent pair on ebay for $6.

This is just a cost efficient idea if you can't find navy blue boots or ones to your liking. You could buy cheap navy blue shoes and do attaching boot covers with the eyelets laced.

I found some great boots by Frye. They're black, but they're perfect.

On the topic of Gunner Yuna boots... Anyone know where to find REALLLLY long white laces? The ones in my boots are black and not long enough to begin with.

Aleera --> hehe that's what i plan on doing now since i was able to get some vinyl for pretty cheap so i guess i just need a nice basic shoe Lol

Moch --> i've been looking for those laces too!! i found some boot ones but they're not long enough for knee highs *.*

Hiyoko, if you find some, or anyone else, let me know!

I'll do the same if I find some.

I figured I might just bleach the ones already in my knee-high boots, but they're too short when I put the boots on so the top 5 eyelets don't even have shoelace through them!

I'm thinking of just getting 2 or 3 pairs of white ones and tieing the together temporarily. I can hide the knots under my boots.

Mocha --> i just found a good way to do it! Joann fabrics sell shoe lace material by the yard and its fairly cheap!! just measure out how much you'll need and just tape the ends and voila!! XD

I ended up getting my Yuna boots off eBay. They're black, not dark blue, but the only cost me $19 including shipping, so I don't care. ^_^

I found long white laces for them in a normal shoe store (make sure it's one that also sells boots, not just running shoes). I forget exactly how long they are, but on the packages it says how many eyelets they will fit. I just counted up the number of eyelets on my kneehigh boots, bought that size of laces, and they fit perfectly.
