Yes I know it's REALLLLLY Early but meh what an you do. I can't wait and a bunch of people told me to (and I cave easily to Peer Pressure) so here we go, the first 2008 thread for Anime North!!

This year's turn out for Sailor Moon costumes made me so happy ^.^ It's like...its coming back and being popular again! So who's doing what next year? (I may have to make a few lists since I know there are a few groups doing it)

I had a Human Luna sitting in my hotel room all weekend this past AN, but I forgot my shoes for it at home and lost motivation to wear it. Next year I want to finally start getting through the huge list of Sailor Moon costumes I've always really wanted to do. So I'll either have Luna with me, or one of the other ones on my list. I look forward to seeing everyone's costumes next year. ^_^

So I'm in for (anime) Zoisite. Andrew/graverg will be Nephrite, Alan will be Kunzite, and Andrew's girlfriend (Jackie/Mameoyashi on Gaia) will be Naru.

I am likely going to be doing the Golden Kingdom version of Zoisite for the Masq. Ball in addition to this. If someone did Princess Mercury, I would be a very happy Tennou indeed. :)

Assuming I do the GK version of Zoisite at 08, that means that I would have cosplayed as him from the anime, manga, and PGSM. That means that I absolutely must do a Myu version at some point. I have to complete the collection. XD

I used the same technique you would use for making your own wig dye out of sharpies. I bought a green one, ripped it open, and mixed the ink with rubbing alcohol. Then I dunked a (fake) white rose in, which I picked up at Micheal's.

Very messy if you are not careful.

I can't remember who thought of that one, me or my husband. He actually helped me in some areas of this cosplay. Especially with the epaulettes.

It probably came to me when I was reading the instuctions on the purple wig dye I bought where it mentions that it stains fabric really well. Cloth rose = fabric = stain = good.

meh, well, I had never had pocky before, and I got a little too addictive. AND i didn't know you could buy it in grocery stores, so I bought 30$ worth, which is about...approx 24 boxes of pocky. I ate at leat 20$ of it on saturday...I need to buy some more.

I'm sitting here and I've come up with final decision on the Sailor Moon
character cosplay that I plan on doing for Anime North, it was REALLY
REALLY tough, but I had to be pointed out how much it would cost me
for the amount of all the costumes that I plan on buying this month and
next. Thinking "Holy crap, I have to probably sacrfiice doing one Sailor Senshi"

Eternal Sailor Neptune (pending before but officially can't do, sadly. Oh well)

So with that in mind, I know I can pull off doing those following characters
and I might have a friend who might do Super Sailor Saturn if she comes out.

I was just wandering what day is the Masqurade Ball, I'm assuming Saturday
here. Also, what days is everyone thinking of cosplaying as their character??

I know it's still early to ask this, but this is the first time in my life I've ever
cosplayed "more" than one character in my lifetime. So I'm anxious and excited

I love the fact you like the idea of having masks at this masqurade ball and

like that at the dollar store up the street from my house. I'm gonna find out
for sure sometime today or early on this week. If they have none in the color
I'm looking for, I'll buy the mask anyway and glue feathers and create something.

The romance outfits are cool! I like the dance they do as well. I have seen it on youtube- they have a dance lesson for it and everything.

I would love to do that costume- but I would probably have to make it right? I doubt they would have it on ebay- unless I found a commissioner on this site who would make it.

I would choose either Minako or Usagi, either one is cool. Although I am unsure of what events could keep me from attending AN in the future because I have no idea what is going on in my life a year from now.

It's very messy if you aren't careful. That's what I did for the green and purple roses. The red one I just harvested off my Muraki bouquet from M-TAC.

How hard/easy is it to use, Zahm? O: I've heard it's like, boiling water + wonderflex = awesumz.I use a heat gun instead of water. I think that it's much easier that way. A heat gun you can pick up at Canadian Tire for about $30 or so. That way you have much more control over how much heat and where you are applying to the stuff.

I found that after I played with it for a few minutes, I had a pretty good idea of what I can and can't do with it. Also, the FAQ at cosplaysupplies.com is pretty useful.

For wonderflex my hair drier worked wonderful, so if you have a really high power hair drier then just use that. I never realised how hot it got until I was working with wonderflex. And my brother said it wouldn't work that well.

*blinks at Mimiwu* Walmart usually has the big sheets of them...I know Dollarama also sells smaller sheets of them. Craft foam is sort of the same as wonderflex, heat + foam = bendy and then it cool off pretty fast and stays in the same shape. I'll find the tutorial eventually...

wonderflex it this stuff that comes in a large sheet and feels kinda like plastic, you heat it up and it becomes moldable.
