Fabric for these characters?

Soo I'm making a bunch of costumes for my friends and I need to know what fabrics and stuff to use. Alo any tips and stuff for me, I'd be more than happy to use them!:geek: XD So these are the characters:

Misa- Death Note
Hinata (shippuden)- Naruto
Rukia- Bleach
Haruhi (girl version)- Ouran high school host club
Gaara (they're twins so Im doing the shippuden and regular)- naruto
Tohru- Fruits basket
Yoruichi- Bleach
Yondaime- naruto
Kakashi- naruto
Naruto


Oh and if anyone knows of an anime character with an afro for my brother... And if you could tell me where i might get some wigs and accessories for the various characters, that'd be nice!:bigtu:

Which do like better, a wig or dyed hair?:confused: *sigh* I don't know why they're asking me to do this...:lost: I can hardly sew!! Tutorials would be tons of help if you have them!!:toothy:

Eh, sewing skill isn't required to start cosplaying. I couldn't sew when I started.

Afro Samurai or Mugen or Bo-bo-bo-bo Bo-bo-bo.

Ebay.

Wig.

Try Google if all else fails. You can look up how to sew, reference pictures, where to buy fabric, etc. Or you can take some sewing classes at your local fabric store.

Well, I don't see a lot of help for you on fabrics so far, but I can tell you what I use or would use for some of them.

Misa-gabardines are great for some of her costumes, I did one for a friend and used gabardines and it turned out beautiful.
Naruto costumes-I would use good cottons. They work the best for the look and move well for the style from what I've seen and done.
Haruhi-gabardines are also good for blazers. Also wool suiting because it's made for things like that.

That's just my two cents and experiences. Hope I was of even a tiny bit of help.

Ken Matsushiro (http://myanimelist.net/character.php?id=78) of Yakitate!! Japan also sports an afro. His outfit looks to be pretty easy for a beginner, too.
