Hi

I'm a male-to-female transgendered cosplayer. I consider myself out, but I'm not living "femme" every day; it's more of an off-and-on thing for me right now.

I know there are other transgender and transsexual cosplayers out there; I just don't know of any myself. I get comfort in knowing there are other people out there like me, as I often feel alone and isolated because I am trans.

If you are transgendered or transsexual, please post. Maybe we could even start our own chat group if we find enough people. Thanks! :D

I actually think there's a topic on this somewhere....It's not very active though.

Yeah, here it is: http://www.cosplay.com/showthread.php?t=132526

I myself would be trangendered, I believe that's the correct term. I'm not too open about it though. one of those things I keep to myself, except to some people. I don't really want to get surgery, however, aside from knowing I am, biologically female, I consider myself more male than anything.

Well~ Nice to meetcha.

I thought about that, but I realized that not all cosplaying transpeople crossplay, and not all crossplayers are trans. Get what I'm saying? So I decided it would be more appropriate to put it here.

No, I think it would be more appropriate in the Seeking Cosplayers forum

This is called Crossplay, and it belongs in the crossplay thread, or seeking cosplayers thread.

Best of luck.

It's not actually crossplay though, since as it's been said, not all trans/intersex people crossplay.

I would say that it's best in Seeking cosplayers as opposed to crossplay.

Nice to meet you Inked Wrong~

Right here, FTM, pre-op. :)

In my opinion, this doesn't really suit the crossplay forum, because we're not really crossplaying, we're just cosplaying as the gender we identify as.

I'm going to move it to Seeking Cosplayers for now. It most definitely doesn't belong in Crossplay though (forum, not thread.. threads are what we're posting in now ;)). Crossplay is just cosplaying the opposite sex. Transgender/transsexual issues are something completely different, as has been stated.

Hah, I actually don't know what the hell I am. To me, it might sound strange but I have no gender. Biologically I do (obviously) but the perfect human is a blend between (kind of like hermaphrodites, I suppose). I try my hardest to blend the two, and I think it works because sometimes I'm called a tomboy while others I'm a girly guy. XD I just wish I could look completely androgynous...unfortunately, I possess features (and curves -_-) that are distinctly feminine.

@Spitfire369: Don't quote me on this, but I'm pretty sure that that is called Gender fluid. I know it might sound like something from a really non descript yaoi fic, but it's a real term.

If I am correct, I think it means that you don't identify with either gender specifically. Similar to Haruhi Fujioka from Ouran, in a sense.

Haha =3 I was hoping to find a thread like this. I'm a pre-everything FTM who wants more than anything to be looked at as either a very girly boy.. or just completely androgynous.

Also, I'm really good with voices and have a very wide range of different voices. I really hope that I can be a voice actor someday.. but I'm afraid of what T might do to my voice.... o.o;

Anyway... I knew I wouldn't be alone here, but I'm glad I found this thread ^_^ It's nice to meet you all!

@Spitfire369: I know what you mean ^-^ I thought I was just a bit strange at first too.
Great to meet you =3

Nice to meet everyone as well.

@BatBowTie: Well I think the most important thing regardless is that you're comfortable with who you are =3

Wow we've really broken with international statistical averages here for FtM vs MtF. Along the lines of groups that would be useful/interesting would probably be a voice support group.

Thanks for replying, everyone. Now I know I'm definitely not alone in the cosplay community! It's nice to meet you all! :D

@CrackRoxas: That's excellent! I really want to get on estrogen, but my parents are kind of against it. They don't really want me to become their daughter :/ They're ok with me being trans though.

@Spitfire369: I learned that it was called "genderqueer". It is defined as feeling that you are both male and female, you are neither male or female, or you consider yourself to be a third gender. Check this out for more info:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genderqueer

Hmm, it looks as though I'm the only mtf here ^_^ We may be going in opposite directions from each other, but mtf's and ftm's go through many of the same feelings and experiences through their lives. I always keep that in mind when chatting with any other transperson. :)

Thanks everyone :D
