I will assume that this is part of a costume you are making which requires a 1911.
Is there any reason an airsoft gun won't work? Tokyo Marui makes the best 1911 airsoft GBB (gas blow back) pistol on the market based on reliability and overall quality. You could get one from www.WGCshop.com, www.redwolfairsoft.com (though their shipping is obscene), a whole bunch of places. The base price for a TM 1911 is something around $120 I think, though several other companies (KJW, for example) make the same thing but lower quality for slightly cheaper.

He's likely asking because some conventions dont allow airsoft or cap firing replica firearms to be part of costumes or on convention grounds.
BlueGuns are Inert PTW's, professional training weapons, and have no moving parts, thus are almost always convention rule friendly.
