I have an idea about how to go about this, but I need some advice to see if I'm thinking about this in the right way...
So here I go.
Look at these here if you will please.

I want to make some shoes like that...
Do you guys think it's possible to buy some Chinese slippers, like these here... (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=370126375041&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=024)
Then, remove all the decorations from the front, and get two pieces of pink fabric, one to put on the outside of the slipper, and one for the inside, and sew them together through the mesh...
Do you guys think that will work..?
If not, do you guys know anyone who will make these slippers for me? I'm trying to get into the habit of making my own cosplays, but I'm still learning, and commissioning to help a fellow cosplayer. ^^;
I have a design that I drew, that goes along with the original picture (shown above), here. (http://img361.imageshack.us/img361/381/shikishoedesignjy1.jpg)
So tell me what you think! :)

I think that would work, I would probably have done it that way ^-^
You go with what you like ^-^

I can't vouch for recently, but a few years back I found slip-on shoes at Kmart that look pretty similar to those. They're inexpensive canvas shoes (I think $5? $10?) but they only came in black, white, and dark blue. I bet you could dye or paint the white shoes pink tho.

:O Shiki Misaki cosplay, but what she actually looks like???
Awesome <33333
I'd suggest just look for a pair of actual slippers that look like that :P

So, what do you guys think about this?
I get these here (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=370146104707) (If anyone knows where I can get those for a much cheaper price, please tell me... I'm just kinda trying to ignore that price for now, it's for the sake of cosplay!)...
Maybe get an Exacto knife or box cutter, something, and cut out the part that holds onto the foot, including the elastic part, and then painting the front pink, with...
What do I paint it with? I'm assuming it's canvas, so do I use fabric paint or..?
I still need some help with this. ^^;;

I personally like your first idea better. Besides, then you could pick whichever type of fabric you think looks best with the rest of the costume, and you would have more control over the shade of pink. I've found that with dying and painting, the end result is pretty much a gamble.
--off topic--
I like the way you labeled the drawing of the foot "foot." Made me laugh for some reason.

I don't think this would be a good idea, as Vans have a very hard plastic thing that holds the shoe onto the foot(The part behind the heel). My friend tried a similar idea and cut her foot because the hard plastic thing was kinda uhm, sharp. Not only will it be cheaper if you do your first idea, but I think it will be easier and look better.
Also, I totally agree with KottonKandy because of the idea of being able to control the shade of pink.
