Now I do hope I'm posting this in the right section. I want to cosplay as Kusuri-Uri from Mononoke. I found the perfect fabrics but I don't know what the jacket he wears is called. I was to search for patterns I can change to match his look.

Also does anyone know the name of the bow his Obi is tied in? I want to learn to do that too. If anyone has any tutorial sites that would be flipping awesome!

Here are some links to images for those who do not know him....

Also on another note, I notice in anime when characters wear geta the shoes' 'teeth' are even under them, where as real geta are positioned further back to help you lean forward when walking. Now I'm use to walking in traditional geta, would a transition be hard to switch to anime style ones, or would it be suggested to stick to traditional? I know its hard for me to walk up and down stairs in traditional but I dont know if its different for those who make their geta more like anime style. XD;;;

I know I'm asking alot but any help would be fantastic! Thanks a million!

(If this double-posts, sorry! My computer was being spastic.) Yay for other Kusuri-uri cosplayers! I hope to be one myself sometime in the future.

For the jacket, might I suggest the basic kimono pattern in Cosmode? You could shorten it to the length you need and make the sleeves in whatever shape you'd like.

Looking at your pics, the obi actually looks like it's in two separate pieces--the main part that wraps around Kusuri-uri-san's middle is definitely separate from the bow. The bow itself is just a basic, stylized one, and you could maybe make them separately and pin the bow to the obi?

And one last thing before I shut my big yap. I'd use the geta you are comfortable with. If anyone nitpicks about your footwear not being show-accurate, it's their problem, right? ;)
