I got this email from the mailinglist:
This announcement will be posted to the Shoujocon website later today,
March 8, 2004.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Many of you have been hoping for an update on Shoujocon 2004 - wondering
what events we were having this year, as well as when and where the
convention would take place.
Sadly, due to difficulty in finding a hotel and the need for the
convention's organizers to regroup, Shoujocon 2004 will not take place. We
are, however, already planning for Shoujocon 2005, and will announce the
location and dates for our fifth convention later this year.
Meanwhile, Shoujocon's staff, and our parent organization Shoujo Arts
Society, are planning on holding a number of smaller events throughout this
year. Look forward to meeting us at other conventions and events in 2004 as
we work to keep interest in shoujo anime and manga alive and well, and as
we prepare for Shoujocon 2005.
We thank everyone for your past support of Shoujocon, and we look forward
to your continued support of Shoujocon and Shoujo Arts Society in the
coming years.
If you have any comments or questions about Shoujocon 2005, please post
them on our forums.
Thank you.
