View Full Version : Ragnarok Online Cosplayers?
So like, It seems from the looks of it, at Otakon this year a fairly good turn out of Ragnarok Online cosplayers are coming just from the responses at the RagnarokOnline LJ (http://livejournal.com/~ragnarokonline). Will anyone else be going?
Just for random information it looks like the gathering/photoshoot/meet and greet will be either before or after the masquerade in front of the fountain (best landmark for people methinks)
It looks so far like...

1 thief
1 swordsman
1 female wizard
1 male wizard

Hmmm... my step-brother said he was *thinking* about going to Otakon, and if he does, he *may* dress as his chara. Not sure what he is though ^_^() I'll pass along the info though.
My friends and I are getting a group together, as far as I know right now we have a male Wizard (me), Monk, and Assassin, and two unconfirmed females...
It'll be good to see more!
Woo! The more the merrier I say. I'm sure you know of Gauze (of loading screen fame), she won't BE Gauze (I will XD;) but she will be his pet bongun Vinyl ;o should be easy to spot us if you're familiar with the UFO guild symbol. I've got it blazing on my headphones. XD
Say, you went as a wizzie to Katsu, right? XD My boyfriend got your picture and rofl I think I overheard you say something like "FINALLY someone recognizes me". That's the way it was for Otakon 2002 for us ^^; we were an archer and mage. -_-a Ah well, here's to a big group :3

*points to avatar* I have a knight costume. I really want to wear it again. I am just afraid of dying in the august heat in it. And besides I don't know if Oshi will be willing to help lace me up into that monster again *laughs*

I'll be doing Female Hunter and my boyfriend shall be either doing Monk or Assasin if we can get his done in time ^^;;;
:O! That's great you guys. I really hope you all can make it XD. The last couple of years I've seen there's been so little representation, it's be perfect to see a large group of RO cosplayers.
Gah, I wonder if I can convince a friend to make a big, bad, Baphomet costume. XD ...

Hmmm, well, i dont feel like reviving my priest costume (omg bad pun) SOOOOOO i will be wearing an Alchemist costume...which i am currently working on...when i am not playing RO >_>;

actually...... maybe we could have it a little earlier in the day on saturday? I can not sit in my knight costume and I would like to attend the masquerade, so I was hoping I would have enough time to switch out of my costume before then. If that's not cool with the universe, I'll just.... wear my costume earlier and junk and stuff.

I think a GT would be fun. I'm dressing as Munak (undead monster) from Ragnarok Online. So hopefully I'll run into some of you guys while I'm there. Just don't kill me, I give poor exp XD

OH yeah, around 5 or so sounds perfectly fine for me on Saturday :D LOL Aside from the open shirt a blacksmith should be pretty comfy to sit around in for the masquerade later on @_@
But sure, sounds ok to me. So 5 at the fountain good for everybody? :o

Gah! Sorry I'm so late everyone! Me and a few others will be there as well :) On Friday, I will be a poring, and on Saturday I will be an Acolyte - my boy will be a male assassin, and my sister will be a female swordie -- We definitely need photos with all of you! I am really excited to see all the costumes and turn Otakon into a mini Midgard.
- Any one have any suggestions for the armor on the swordie? The arm and leg armor is no problem, but I seem to be running into problems with the breastplate.

I'm going as Chaos from the Ragnarok Manga...He's a swordsman, so I could just be there as a male swordsman...named chaos...with an enchanted sword...That is, if you want me.

Okay here's the deal.
So it seems that the L'Arc~en~Ciel concert is starting at 5 pm on Saturday. :X
Now this doesn't pose a bother to me at all since I don't plan on attending it anyway (in any shape or form. Too lazy to walk back after changing out of Leon anc Joachim, and doing a thousand other changes that day. I'm not even interested in the concert ^^;), I'm sure some of you want to go and my question is...
Are there enough of you going that we should reschedule, or is it only a few so that we will (sadly) miss you, but it's not big enough to change the time for? Just want to know ^^;

Well, I definitely plan on going to the L'Arc Concert, but I was just wondering...do ya'll want me in the group? Since I'm not actually from Ragnarok online, but I'm from the manga...but...just wondering.
Oh I don't mind, in fact I'd like to see Chaos' costume because I was thinking of doing that and Iris for my boyfriend. The armor looked like a good challenge along with the way his clothing fit.
Anyhow the problem would be WHEN the meeting was thanks to the late announcement of the concert.

I feel like such a jerk cause I am like neeer let's keep moving this thing. *laughs* but anyway I am definately going to the concert!!! So if you guys move it cool I will join you, if not then I will just force my friends to walk around with at some point when I am knight. *nods alot* so do what is best for the group.

I was wondering if maybe 4 pm was okay, because I know I read that there will be no lining up and no camping out. I just don't think I can pull off any earlier than that @___@;; I suppose there is always LATER but who KNOWS when the concert will let out. I feel so bad for people that were supposed to be doing skits for the masquerade :( I know they couldn't change the concert now but what an awful time to schedule it. I honestly thing it would have been nice to close the night with it because everybody will be too tired to do their skits!

I think 4 can work out. If not well.... maybe some of us can stay for a little while then run off while the rest of the group lingers behind.
that sounds about right :o rofl don't know about for the other people though X_X Sigh. oh well XD we'll aim for 4, what happens, happens I guess :D

Oh yeah, just lettin you know, I'm gonna be at the con with a few friends, too, so I may end up sorta drifting in and out of the group, but I'll still be there, most definitely...I'm so looking forward to meeting all of you.

I'm going ^_^ *thinks that she ought to reply more often* I was going to do the cos on Fri....... but photoshoots are fun so who knows..... my group has a priest(my friend who wanted to hitch a ride with us XD), a priestess( my mom), a male wizard( my bro), and a female swordsman (me)........ so if we don't come it's prolly cuz we want to wear clothes that don't want to change out of for the concert......... cuz we're all kinda lazy like that XD

Is the shoot stll DEFINATLY at 4? I know it's really close timing since the concert is at 5 and people will be lining up and already changed out of costume to be cozy for the concert.
Just want to be sure since I have myself and about 7 other friends doing RO cosplay with me and we want to know...
So far 4 seems fine with a lot of the other people I've asked. I was also informed that there will be a process to getting extra tickets for the event or something. A few friends of mine that were planning on going said that wouldn't interefere much at all, so I'm going by what they're saying (one of them is on the Otakon Staff too).
I have a private photoshoot myself at 12 and it takes me a very long time to amble about in that, so getting out of that costume and into the RO one is what will take me a while (which is why I can't do it earlier @_@)
But if it's too close for you and the others by all means do it some other time. If I see you I'll be sure to say hi either way.

Yea, the only problem is our friend doing RO Knight...the costume isn't soutable for sititng fdurign the concert and would take far too long to get out of and get to the concert in time after the shoot. I'll have to see.
LOL :( I am well versed in the world of the armor that doesn't allow you to sit down, in fact I can barely walk in the one for my photoshoot so I completely understand. Whatever works for you guys. I just know I can't be there any earlier than 4, as goes for another 7 - 8 people with me ;-;

Ahh, sorry to hear that :o the concert has thrown a kink into a lot of people's plans unfortunately. Like I said, if you guys want to meet earlier go ahead since you all know that however many people are actually planning on going with RO costumes. ROFL I've had a bad time this year with organizing photoshoots so if this is bust aside from the people I know for a fact that are going it's no big deal to me. There's always Katsucon :O

I just finallized my decision to go to Otakon last night, so I now suddenly need to get 3 costumes ready within 2 weeks.
Costume 1 is done cause I made it for NerdCon last weekend. Costume 2 is more than half way and I should be able to finish this weekend. That leaves about a week and a half for a 3rd costume that I'm not even decided on...until now.
I saw the picture randomly and suddenly wanted to make it, so even though my hair's really way off, I'm going to make the Female Monk (cause there's still the hood, so not like many people will take much notice).
The sleevless coat thing I can make really easily...since it's horrifically similar to how I made my Yaone vest from a Saiyuki cosplay a year ago. I think I can have this one done in a week, even though I'll be hand sewing it all and DANG, that's a lot of hand sewing, even though it's an easy costume as long as I can find a shirt and pants to alter (cause I'm too lazy to make those. XD
I want to find any other female Monk cosplayers and see how well my 1 week costume compares...and I want to meet and worship anyone doing a Crusader costume cause that's so nice and time consuming and dang advanced.

I really want to see well done armoured RO cosplays. Desperately so...Crusaders =]::: *drools*
The knights look cool too. And is a much more "reasonable" costume too cause Crusader is like a "stand and pose" costume that you can't move in properly which makes it great to wear to like a photoshoot, but crappy for cons.
I actually decided to do Monk cause #1 I need something to hide my hair not being right and #2 I LOVE OBSCURE costumes. I just keep getting more and more obscure, but I wanted to do an RO one so bad, so I chose one that I haven't seen done before (otherwise I'd make a much better Female Thief or Acolyte with my hair style...)
I'm going to make so many new RO costumes by the end of this year. I just saw the sprites for the new characters and I have my mind set on doing both Female Professor and Female Stalker (stalker YAY!)...and quite possibly Male Stalker as well.

Ugh...very sorry guys...I wasn't able to successfully complete my Chaos costume for this year's convention. I'm now going as Shuichi from Gravitation. However, if you wouldn't mind having a Shuichi with you, I'd love to meet some of you at some point...Otherwise, maybe I'll see you around the con. Later all, and happy Ragnaroking at Otakon. Just so you know, you're not totally insane. I'm going to be making Female Stalker for a con in 1 month and of course, Stalker only has sprite.
I'm just going to stare really hard at it until I can make out some details.
I'll be going as Female Monk for Otakon on Thursday and Sunday. I'm actually going to be changing before I leave Phily and travelling the entire way in costume. XD

Wow, everythings-a-changing. I am heading down to baltmore today (so close!) And I can't decide whether or not to be the poring... I most likely will be the acolyte all weekend (Otakon is the one con it is difficult to change in and out of due to... distance of the hotel) but my bf and sister are still doing assassin and swordswoman respectively! I probably cannot make 4pm however, but I will try and grab ANY of you I see walking by. Feel free to stop us as well! See everyone there!
