I'm aware of Anime Detour coming up in March, but are there any other conventions in Minnesota that I should know about?

Well, there was Convergence... which was on the 4th of July weekend. There's SoGen con... which I have no idea when that is... and then there is the always popular University of Minneapolis TC Manga Anime Society Halloween Spectacular. That's the thursday the same week as halloween... a very fun time to be had.

where abouts in minnesota are you at? If you close to one of them, U of M, St Cloud, Mankato, Southwest Minnesota State University, Moorhead and a few others to name a few have clubs and I'm sure they would be willing to have another person or two at a meeting.
www.southwestmsu.edu/studentactivities/anime this is my college club site

The University of Minnesota Twin Cities would be your closest club then.

Oh! Is there an Anime Club in Moorhead? That'd be sweet. And I mean super-incredibly-awesomeo-mega ***** sweet!!! Why? Cause i just live 45 min. away from Moorhead.

We Minnesotans don't have much yet. But with the rising popularity of Anime cons in the midwest, it'll all come in due time.
Did you consider any conventions held by our neighbors? Anime Iowa is a blast (and a half!) I don't know when it's being held this year though, I know Wisconson has two or three, but names and dates escape me at the moment...

Well the thing with AnimeIowa, I do live 'bout 7 or 8 hours away from the state. And I'm not even allowed to drive outta the state by myself yet.

I'll definitley be at AD 2005. This would actually be the first time I heard about Sogen Con... And here I was thinking there was only One Con in MN...
I might be able to go. Unlikely as it will be right after AD and my outta state choir and band tours lol.

I'll try, but with a mother like mine, the chances of that happening is like 5 major hurricanes all hitting the U.S. in around a month's time period...
wait a tik...
The chances are really like, 1/1000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 happening. But who knows. Something might pull through.

As far as I know, Wisconsin only has one anime convention, and that's No Brand Con. It's April 15-17, in Eau Claire, WI. That's about an hour to an hour and half drive to the Cities. It's about 3 hours from Madison, WI, and 5 from Chicago. Suprisingly, it's our Forth year running it, but this will be our first in a hotel.
Yes, I am a minion of No Brand Con. How did you know?
