My 1st anime costume was made 5 hours or so before leaving for AX97 and man is was ghetto.

It consisted of:

1 pair of shoulder pads made from cloth and some batting.
1 oooooglay shirt
1 oooooglay pair of pants
1 butchered Elvis wig
1 cheap cloth belt
1 cheap head band
spirit gum mustach and unibrow


Missing items:

1 pair of gloves
1 pair of boots

This costume was Prince Phil from the anime The Slayers

This costume is scattered in my room.

The 1st costume I made myself was Ramus from Lunar which is also in my gallery. The costume looks much better than it does in the picture.

I remeber dressing as Belle in 1st grade.......and in 5th grade i did a play and i was an elf....and one year for halloween i wore a poodle skirt that my mother made..it kept sliding down showing my undies! Hmm..my first, and horrible costume was Rei Hino, in her temple clothes...., it was so horrible, i didnt know a thing about patterns, or sewing...so me and my friend Isami, just winged out first costumes, hers was great, but mine.....:: shudder :: was ugly....the shirt was horribly sewn, and the pants....were regular red pajama pants, that had cut up the inside....and somehow sewn back, but with a new peice of cloth....and it was just so bad...although it was ugly, i nearly cried when i saw that my mom threw them in the wash to be cleaned, and when they came out, the shirt had been turned pink cuz of the red pants

Aah, my first cosplay was Kurosaki Hisoka from Yami No Matsuei at Ani-Magic 2k1. ^_^; I didn't have enough money for a wig, so I just went as a female version of him (I had the same color hair and everything.) ... and got yelled at by some random girl for having short hair andnot having green eyes. XD

It makes me laugh now, although I almost didn't want to cosplay again for fear of someone yelling at me for "doing it wrong".

Mine was a spectacular Sailor Moon back in 95 I think....It was soon after SM came out in Japan and I just had to go as her for halloween. My friend's mom made this spectacular fuku, the only thing was, I didn't have bangs (but I sure had the hair) nor the boots. Well, to this day I still don't have the bangs, but I sure have the boots. I even won a halloween costume contest my freshman year in college (3 years after I first made the costume!)

Ah, that was a great one! First one for a con was Akari Kanzaki (in overalls and shirt) Her Hokkaido clothes as my friend called it!

My first was a Nicholas D Wolfwood costume, complete with giant cross. The suit was noting more than a thrift store raid. The cross was some giant pieces of wood crappily hacked away to resemble a cross. The cross was then fitted with hinges and velcro to turn it into a portable storage unit for my dealer room purchases.

The biggest problem was that I made the cross too big to fit in my car. And the time I tripped over said cross and landed on it. It hurt.

My first official Cosplay was Kaze from Final Fantasy Unlimited, worn this past year at AXNY.
Before I knew what Cosplay was, I still did videogame characters for halloween; namely Kung Lao from Mortal Kombat, Ryu from Street Fighter (earned me the nickname Ryu in two years of HS), and the mighty Sonic the Hedgehog (back in elementary school).

My first ever cosplay (if you can call it that) was this thing I pulled out of the closet that consisted of Chinese silk pajamas and long hair and a wig. I went to the event and blinked when they asked me who I was.

Someone said "Jacky Chan" and I said... "ok... It's Jacky Chan." *pokes Dark_MooN* JACKY CHAN :devil:

Anyways, I did a few martial arts moves I remembered when I was taking up Karate and Aikido in college, and that was it. :D

My first ever costume was a hoooorible attempt at Rinoa from FFVIII. I made it 2 hours before I went out for halloween 2 years ago. UCK... Surprizingly someone recognized me!

I tried it again last year at Ohayocon for my first cosplay costume. Though I can improve it by a lot, it came out pretty good. =) I'd still wear it if the fabric paint didn't leave an oily green stain around the wings. >< Gotta redo this one at some point!

My first costume was a medieval cotehardie - the very fitted dress popular during the 14th-15th century in Europe. I don't mind saying it was pretty awful. I'd never made anything fitted before, so it fit terribly, and I screwed up the lacing holes - some of them were big enough to put a fingertip through. But I wore it, proudly. And later, when I was clued in enough to wear it not so proudly, I wore it as an underdress under nicer gowns.

Thinking back on it, I think my first quasi-cosplay was as a Pokemon trainer in sixth grade for Halloween. However, I try not to think about that one, and usually think of my first real cosplay as Clow Read from CCS, which I wore for Halloween '01, and then partially remade for Shoujocon '02.

*blushes* Thanks ^^ I'm really happy with how it turned out...I ended up completely making the purple robe, as it was really screwy. Although, it still needs a little touch-up. I haven't quite figured out how to make the chinese-style fasteners on the front properly, and I'm too shy to ask. But if I get it fixed, I'll probably be wearing it again. I actually wore it for part of the time last Halloween, when being a moon angel (another costume that shall get retouched and reworn, I think) got too cold. I really love that outfit ^^

My first costume was a very horrid Sailor Jupiter costume that I wore in the 8th grade for Halloween. That was a first attempt at sewing an the skirt was all wrong and the day was very blustery so it kept flipping up (Much to some guy's...ahem...).

Anywho, mine was Tsukasa if you don't count Halloween. And it sucked, of course. However, if you do count Halloween, my first costume was a Ring Wraith from Lord of the Rings. It actually wasn't that bad at all. I just couldn't see with a sock over my face.

Hmm.. If I count my first all made outfit specifically for cosplay it was my Full metal Alchemist Military uniform. Yeah it ain't perfect, but I love wearing it and will eventually make another.

As for outfits (not totally made by me) I guess the first one was my Hogwarts school uniform (made it after the first movie came out). I still have it and yes I wear it on opening day of the movies. When I mean not totally made, the cloak was my first sewing project. Everything else is bought (sweater/pants/shirt/ scarf and tie) Mine is old school HP, meaning I don't have the new tie or scarf and my patch is the old style, but hey, I always just say I graduated before they changed uniforms (the only thing I like about the newer ones is the color on the inside of the cloaks).

Misty from Pokemon in like, third or fourth grade. I remember that it actually didn't look that bad for just being a pair of shorts and a shirt I had with some suspenders.

Jump ahead to Sophomore year, I went as V (for Vendetta) for Halloween. It wasn't exact, but it looked really good. I still have the entire thing, too. This was when I was first finding out about Cosplay, so it almost counts as an official first.

Last Halloween I went as Xigbar from KH2. My mom helped me make the coat, and I helped three other people make theirs. The only downside to it was that I didn't have a wig, so I pinned my bangs back and had a friend spray color my hair. It was really fun up until I ran into a tree.

my first will be Matsumoto Rangiku from Bleach, and then Byakuya from Bleach.

Basicly, I'm buying a Byakuya costume, I will use just the black outfit part with a pink scarf, wig and vice-badge for Matsumoto, then I will use my own hair for Byakuya on the second day with the whole costume. Hope it works out...

my first cosplay was ryoko from tenchi muyo in her tenchi in tokyo outfit(long black dress with a little blue on it) I ended up messing up my hair with teh gel making it curly and I just sprayed the white in it D: the outfit was good but I phailed up the hair which sucked D: It was to the anime club on a date I set for "cosplay night" I was one of the only people that made an outfit. After that I started cosplaying every month for a while untill they changed the manager which doesn't let me cosplay there anymore -_-

A black tank top, a jean skirt, a trench coat stolen from my mom...
And some other things that looking ninja like that happened to be in my closet at the time.
