Konnichiwa!
I'm actually not TOO new to cosplay, a few friends from my state are in an anime club consisting of about sixteen members and together we make a cosplay group. Unfortunately though, I'm really just the model and the thrift-store raider. =^.^=
But this year I'm going to A-kon with my cousin and I'm determined to make an outfit on my own, so what's the easiest cosplay outfit you've ever done? And how'd you go about it?
Thankyou!

I think a really easy costume would be Naru Narusegawa from Love Hina ^_^ she's really cool AND her outfit is easy enough to make.
Makimachi Misao, because I had a lot of the stuff I needed already. (Martial arts gi, etc.)
The best way to go about it would probably be to pick a character that has semi-normal clothes, or clothes that you could easily modify things bought from a thrift store to look like. ^_^

well, most King of Fighters and Street Fighter characters have strett clotches or clotches fairly easily modified.
I second the motion for Naru as it's a very simple cosatume to put together.
Tenchi (from Tenchi Muyo)in his brown and tan version from the OVAs is a simple costume for a beginer at sewing. Mihoshi's street clothes are rarly cos-played and that would be easy.

Heero Yuy would be easy. Spandix (sp?) shorts and a green tank top. Then theres the shoes...but overall it's easy.

Domon Kasshu:

his regular outfit is easy to make. You can get the most stuff for his costume at a thrift shop...the cape. at a fabric store.
and I'm cosplaying him. :D

T-shirt reading:
"I am a Super Sayijn"
My friend Joe did that last year. It went over pretty well. Like, 50 people signed the back of his shirt.

^_^
Thanks everyone!
So far I think I'm going to go with the Naru cosplay idea, and if that doesn't blow over well the brilliant idea for the DBZ shirt. =^.^=
Anymore suggestions? I really need any help I can get. ^^; My cousin's forcing me to dress up and I'm in no mood for extra holes in my fingers by trying to do a complex outfit by accident.

The easiest are....
(a) Van from Escaflowne. Red sleeveless shirt + brown cord + khakis + brown shoes. Simple enough, and fun.
(b) The all purpose hentai character. Spiff up your her and go for the sans-clothing thing [costs you no money whatsoever!]. Just try not to get arrested for indecient exposure.
...kidding. o.O Well, not about Van, but.. oh... I give up. o.o

The easiest are any Team Rocket character... As long as you have a big red R on your shirt you are in. I see Team Rocket gangs everywhere... quite funny...
I might sew a big red R on a shirt as a back up costume or something. Hee hee.. not the biggest pokemon fan, but hey, the idea of Team Rocket gangs thrill me..
Ryu from SF would be really easy. All you need is a standard issue Dogi, tear at the sleeves and get yourself a redhead band ^^

keitaro from Love Hina, I just looked in my closet and realized I can do a ghetto cosplay for him right now....or I could spend five minutes at a mall and grab a lighter colored shirt and do it right.

for peeps with long black hair, I would have to settle with Maze.

The easiest would be a character from a hentai series; La Blue Girl perhaps? joke! :p
hhmmm...maybe a character in a school uniform, cause you dont need to a buy a costume anymore if you have the same school uniform as the character you aregoing as :p
ex. Ukiya or Megane from gatekeepers. etc. ^^

Ed from Cowboy Bebop
Heero, Trowa from GundamWing
Basiclly anyone who wears normal clothes that you can buy in retail stores.

I was thinking one of Miaka's (From Fushigi Yuugi) outfits when she's in her world. Or possibly Aya from Ceres. And as suggested before, Naru from Love Hina would be pretty easy. Have fun! =^^=

Go as anyone from the Hinata Sou really because all you need is a pink bath towel and a plush turtle.

Hahaha!
Hey! Team Rocket rules! And if you make the jacket from scratch, it really is not as easy as you think. Cheating is the easy way out.

Easiest... Ranma Saotome v3.0
Damn... I feel like firing up Photoshop...

yeah school uniforms are pretty easy, or the Bubblegum crisis girls in their normal wear. A friend and I did a quick Rajin, Fujin costume, it only took us a couple of days to make. Also Shinji from NGE is pretty easy, shirt and pants, short hair and a somber dead look. Just don't sleep of a couple of days and mumble things to yourself every now and then. ^_^

1.) School Uniform outfits (It depends on which series though ^^)
2.) Duo, Trowa and Heero (GW)
3.) If you are a goth, Angel Sanctuary would be an easy cosplay, without the wings that is. :)

what series do you like? you have to play this person, you should like them first. in just about every series there's at least one character that's easy to do. give us some of your favorites and we can help you from there (instead of us (vets) calling out our personal favorites.) ;D

Duo Maxwell from GW is easy to do in the basic form: all-black, black cap (not a baseball cap, but you can get the right type at any army surplus store) and long hair (braided).
To get it right you really need the priest-style collar (but you can find that or get a nehru collared jacket with white underneath). It helps to have the breeches but baggy pants will work as a basic.
Yeah, it's overdone, but it's easy. Heck, I was at CNA wearing all black with just the hat and people thought I was cosplaying him (I wasn't)...
Though it explained to me why some people always insisted on braiding my hair when they saw me, since that was a common outfit for me to wear. :)
