Costume help

Hello, i've never made a costume before but i was thinking of making one from a final fantasy game, like cid highwind from 7 or zell dincht from 8. What's the best type of places to go for material and stuff? Thanks.

I'm not too fimilar with cid but I know Zell. You can get a pattern that resembles his jacket and pants, then modify it. For materials, look around the internet for good fabric sales and such. I hope to see picture of it when you are done ^_^

Me says- You can always go to a local thrift store and use the different like fabrics and sew them in the pattern of the charry. And I was thinking for Cid's spear thingy, get one of those big wooden dowel rods from a home depot or some lumberyard. For the end you can cut wood or fiberglass, then use lotsa glue or something to attach em together. If you're gonna Cosplay as Cid lemme know! Cid kicks! -^^-
