Ok, I just started cosplaying and stuff.. so.. I wanted to go as Vincent Valentine from FF7 ^.^ And I wanted to know if anyone had any ideas on how to make that claw type thing he has on his arm. O.o;;;

My dumb and pointless suggestions- You could use foam or rubber, but the rubber can be expensive and foam is kinda cheesy. You can always cut up pieces of plastic and use lotsa glue to make it ^^;;;;; Or if your lucky, you can find those toy claw things at a toy store, and you cxan attach it to something on your arm.

You can also get reasonably good, fast results with plain old cardboard (spraypainted).

And this is probably one of those things you're supposed to keep secret when you figure them out, but PVC shower liner makes fairly convincing armor as long as it has something like your arm under it to support it. Ask the people at Home Depot if they have any odds and ends of it, otherwise you have to buy it by the square foot and it's a bit pricey. Cardboard would be simpler and would probably suit your needs in this case (that or art foil, which I think comes in gold).
