I was asking some of my cosplaying friends about adding some stuff to my Rinoa costume...ya know, personal touches ^^ Some said 'go for it' and others went 'no! it won't look right!'. So I wanted a general opinion :D Just little simplistic things, like maybe a belt on the skirt, tassles on the zippers of the shorts (I have a cute little pair of rosebud keychain things...I was thinking about hooking them onto the zippers), stuff like that.

Second, does Rinoa wear any makeup? 'Cause I was thinking about adding some as one of those little personal touches I was mentioning above. But if she already wears it it's not much of a personal touch is it?

Its really up to how you want it to look. I personally like the more realistic way but if you'd like to add a bit of a personal touch, go ahead.

if she didnt wear makeup u should always wear some blush lip gloss and a light earth shade of eyeshadow with maskara but in my opinion the out fit would look good with light oink lip gloss and some baby blue eye shodow then take a tub of liquid glitter and aplly it LIGHTY over ur eyeshadow using your finger wait for it to dry before using your maskara

I always find personal touches to costumes to be refreshing ^_^v

Keeps it unique, and I think alot of people tend to do that subconsciously sometimes to their own costumes anyway.

Good luck!

There's nothing wrong with personal touches as long as you don't go overboard. ^_^

It depends on you. Making a perfectly accurate re-creation of a costume is the goal for some cosplayers, but not all. Many people like to add their own touches. As for Rinoa wearing makeup, I'd say look at as many pictures of her as you can and determine for yourself whether she is or not. Whether or not she does, you should - it will look much better in pictures.

Generally, if pictures of the character are easy to come by and generally agree on what he/she looks like, I'd go for accuracy and not creativity. However, many characters have variations already, and so then you should take liberties where appropriate. As long as people can still identify you, do whatever you want. ^_^

And you should definitely wear makeup. I'm sure Rinoa does.

When I make my costumes, I always strive for accuracy and I don't add any personal touches, but it's all up to you! Some of my friends like to add personal to their costumes, and there's nothing wrong with that ^_^ It all depends on your own taste, I guess...
I think Rinoa does wear a little makeup... a very light blush, pink lipstick, and maybe mascara and eye liner. I attached a shot of her face during the ballroom scene ^_^

Ooh! Thanks for the picture *huggle*

I was thinking about (for my makeup ^^) some brown-goldish eyeshadow, light blush, eyeliner, mascara, and light pink lip gloss. Maybe a little glitter here and there ^^
