Ive been planning to go to ct-con with my friend, but she might not be able to go now.......which means id probably end up going alone. has anyone ever gone to a con alone or plan on attending this con alone? im just not sure if ill have a good time going by myself.

i went to my last con alone and it did get a little boring at times, i'm kinda shy so i didn't talk to many new people either. ct-con seems like it's going to have lots to do though as as long as it's stuff you're interested in then it shouldn't be too much of a problem. a benefit is that you don't have to argue with someone over which panel to go to :D

Cons are different alone, but they can still be a blast. Just talk to people! Otaku are friendly buggers. ^_^

see...because I only just turned 18 and my mom is waaaaay overprotective, I've never been to a con exactly alone, but last year (and to another 2 cons since) I went with just my mom. I expect that being with friends, being with parents, and being alone are all totally different, but I have to say there's always people to meet and hang out with if you make the effort. Especially if you recognize someone from here! I'm going with one friend from home and meeting some people from cosplay.com too, but I only just found out that she was able to come and was expecting to go alone before that.

I can't imagine how it would feel to be alone, that would totally suck. We can meet up sometime in the hotel.... A yuna or Sailor Venus will be easy to look for since I'm a big fan of both FFX and Sailor Moon. Looking forward to your costume, I can't wait to see how it'll turn out.

I'm going to cosplay as Sanji (One Piece) and Ling (Fullmetal Alchemist).

I, am going with my dad to CT-con. I was supposed to go with a friend but she backed out, so this will be an alone event for me to.

Gale, you and I seem to have a similar parental situation. (I'm about to turn 18 and has no driver's licence as well. :waaaah: ) So my dad is my source of transportation and hotel reservation. Parental reliance and concern is such a pesky thing.

It's heartening to hear others have gone to cons by themselves. I was feeling a bit iffy about it before.

I want a picky of cd19 as male yuna!! (I'm going as yuna too) ! That's going to be alot of fun to see! :)

heh, yah, last year was fun, but I was only with my mom and she tagged after me and it could have been so much better. then, at I-con I was with only her again, and I would have loved to hang out with some of my friends from online but she'd kill me if she knew I had friends from online. x_x this year for CTcon though she made the deal with me that (since I am 18 and finally comfortable driving on the highway) if I find a friend to go with I can go without her. I think, though, for safty reasons it can be justified to have your parents with you and if you're new to cons and still kind of young it is good to have them while you're just feeling things out. however, that does not mean that I am way psyched that I don't have to deal with either of my parents trailing behind me this year! ;)

Man.. Going with just a parent seems like such a bummer, but yeah good for safety reasons. I was at I-Con too, hehe can't wait for next year since it's the only con I know off that doesn't take me more than an hour to get to.

Heh. Going to cons alone can be a drag. However I have to join the chorus who say there should be plenty to do. Plus CTCon usually shows better anime and movies and stuff then most cons do as well so it's easier to fill hours.
