I'm a newbie and I need help^^

I am new at cosplay and actually I've never been to one^^'.You see I don't know of any cosplay events in New York City or the state.Some choices that I have are:
-Melfina (from outlaw star)
-Aerith Gainsborough(Final Fantasy VII)
-Yukino Miyazawa(Kareshi Kanojyo No Jijiyou/His and Her Circumstances).

If anyone can tell me where I can go I would greatly appreciate it^^;:thumbsup:

Hello! You can find a full listing of conventions at http://www.cosplay.com/conventions_schedule.php.

I know last year that there was BAAF/AXNY in New York, but I haven't checked what is there this year. Shoujocon is in New Jersey.

As for costumes, you should really decide on characters you like best, and that match your skill level best. It's hard to give advice on choosing! ^^

Actually, this year, Shoujocon is in Rye, NY. Come to Shoujocon! It was great fun last year. I'll be the 'Free Hugs' groupd ^^

Hey thanx you guys^^i also have one more question....u have to pay an entry fee right?if u do can u tell me the cost range or just the plain and simple cost^^thanx soooo much^^oo ya wats the big apple anime fest?is that a cosplay convention too?:D
