I think I'm going to end up trying a Meroko and Lei Fang for AB2003. Those two should be simple enough.. well it LOOKS simple enough anyways.
For Meroko.. I have a few ideas. but does anyone else have any suggestions on where I could get some of the supplies for her costumes? I don't mind ordering things online if necessary but going to the store itself is my preference because I can actually see the thing 3D. My hair color's black so I'll need a pink wig.. where could i find that?
For Lei Fang (DOA).. I'll need to find a Chinese style dress that looks like her and that will be the main thing. I've looked in some places and none of them really have the same designs on the dress and are either too big or smething.. anyone have any ideas on where I could find a dress like that or some ideas to finding a dress like that?

on ebay right now they're selling meroko's offical hat for 45$ and takuto's for 25$ if you have a friend who wants to go. That's really the simplest way to make em heh ^^;;

I think I've seen that type of dress in Chinatown here in San Francisco, CA. Have you tried your local Chinatown?
I *think* that type of dress is really easy to sew if you want to try that. I've seen the pattern before somewhere.
Good luck on the costumes. Too bad I won't be able to see it in person as I don't think I'm going to Anime Boston.

For wigs...search ebay over and over again, sometimes you hit the right time. I've gotten most of the wigs off ebay. For a chinese dress...Chinatown is a good place to start...if not...Again...eBay is my best bet. They've got everything and usually at a low price.

Yeah, I've tried Chinatown in Boston and none of the shops really have nice dresses like that. And as for the Meroko wig.. I've checked a bunch of online wig places (wowwigs, amphifgory, witchwigs, etc)and offline. I've never bought a wig before so I'm not sure which one would be most suitable for Meroko's long pink flowy hair. I was thinking any of them might do, but maybe I could get an opinion from a more experienced cosplayer ^_^"
Also, Lei Fang has that long black hair which she braids and then loops.. and in order to do that.. she has long hair (something i don't have) . Since I have black hair (actually.. it more of a very very very dark -prettymuch black- coffee brown hair with a some blonde streaks-leftover from the faded red streaks-) should i just get extensions or should i just go and get a wig? CUrrently my hair is about halfway down my back.

Well the wigs you can search eBay...keep searching eBay cause things pop up. It took me a month to find the right Nuriko wig that I wanted. I'll see what I can do bout the others. ^_^

A good but expensive place to get custom anime wigs is Fifi Mahoney's online shop. I'll be working on a meroko costume too. I think her shoes will be hard to find...but I'm probably wrong ^^

Wig wise...I'd check eBay cause I've seen long pink and black wigs on sale for less than $30 each. When you get them, you can style them to your liking. I'll check out the costumes, to help with anything. ^^
