HELP me for TIDUS!!

hello there...just wanna ask some help coz i'll be making TIDUS' costume...i'll cosplay him...can u tell me something about his outfit??

There are some nice pics at www.ffonline.com if you need that kind of stuff. I can't really suggest anything for the outfit but I've seen people make the sword out of fiberglass, foam, and plastic. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful!

No pics I'm afraid but I think I saw the person at Otakon 2002. I couldn't take pics that day 'cause I was in a Bowser costume and couldn't even see where I was going...

Wow, I'm gonna try not to sound rude, but these topics are FAAAR too abundant. If you want help, you REALLY need to be more specific. Tidus has a pretty intricate outfit, and theres a LOT to talk about...pants, shirt, overalls, etc...I would hope you have at least SOME idea of the materials you want to use, and a good stock of pics already set up before you head out on such an endeavor...

what exactly do you need advice on? Perhaps better assistance could be offered.

ei thanks troppy....ummm what kind of clothe do u think is his top?? the pants seems to be somewhat synthetic leather...and what is that on the lower back portion of his pants??? is it a criss-cross like thing??? :bouncer:

I believe the back of his longer pant leg is just a criss-cross pattern...somewhat like a thick net. It has a silver stud at the center of each X...observe:

It's pretty easy to see in most pics, I suggest you go on a Tidus-pic-hunt... I also reccomend http://www.ffxposed.com


as for the top, that could be made from a LOT of things; even something simple like cotton. Keep in mind, though, that it has vertical lines going down it. If you're an accuracy freak, you'll have to look into how you want that accomplished. Some fabrics already come like that, but if you want to keep your options open, it would be more logical to make the lines yourself with sewing stitches.

I'd just make something up, lol. I am making his shirt and I put my own cosplay label on there.

Before you ask about how to make each individual piece of a costume, do some research on it. Spend some time looking at it. Study as many different pictures as you can, from as many angles as you can - still pictures and in motion, if you can. Try to draw it. When you look at it, what does the material look like to YOU? How do YOU think it's put together? Once you have done this, you should have a better idea of what you're getting into and will be able to ask specific questions from a much better place.

Tidus' outfit is extremely detailed, and I would not recommend it to someone without significant sewing experience, due to the number of different materials and techniques involved. I've been sewing for 15 years and feel it's rather beyond my reach at the moment.

at the back of his hoodie there is a gray (maybe metal?) label that just says his name or something. i dunno wht it says so i left our blank^_^
