Hey all,
I have to admit I'd barely even heard of cosplaying before last halloween when I decided to dress up as Squall for a costume party. Running back and forth between used clothing stores, anime outlets and Chinatown import shops over a 2 day period trying to find all the stuff I needed is not an experience I'd like to repeat for a while....but the payoff was worth it. The party was a total blast, I got some nice compliments, and in the process learned about the ever-expanding Cosplay community. Some friends and I are going to Anime North in Toronto next May, and I'm going to take the time to try and improve my costume (any advice would be much appreciated - instructions on how to build a gunblade replica would be especially nice :). Anyway, just letting you know of my existence, and it's cool to see such an enthusiastic group of people with the same passion for this underappreciated hobby.
