I made this really cute skirt for a convention I'm going to this weekend, its black and it has rainbow ruffles. I was going to wear it with a black corset with a white long-sleeve blouse under it. First, I realized that I really needed some assecesories and that a tie or bow would probley look cute with it - using the rainbow print, of course (The theme is rainbow since I couldn't think of anything else that hasn't been used). But then I started thinking about the weather - maybe wearing all these layers this late in spring wouldn't be the smartest thing since I'll be walking from my hotel to the con. I would wear the corset without the blouse but I figured that would be showing too much skin for lolita. I was wondering if you guys could give me any ideas on what to do refering to the top; Should I make me a cute t-shirt to match my skirt just incase it's too hot to wear the corset and blouse or just wear the outfit like planned? Or is there something else I could do that I'm not thinking of?
Also, the question that I'm sure all of you have heard before *lol* What should I do with my hair? It's so plain and short I can't seem to think of what to do with it. I'm planning on getting it cut shorter in the back and leaving the front as long as it is now, maybe spiking the back as well. But if I don't get it cut for some reason what should I do?
(the pictures attached are of the outfit I put together originally put together, the corset, how the corset looks with the blouse, the ruffles and a idea of the decoration I'm going to put on my t-shirt if I make it. Oh, and my hair is afew more inches longer in the front now)

Well, by adding the rainbow ruffles, your dress has gone from lolita to decora/fruits, so wearing it with a rainbow/striped shirt would be fine. But, again, it's now fruits, not lolita.
If you wore the corset by itself, it'll become ero-fruits.
You couldn't just wear a blouse and corset with that skirt, because that's too much color on the bottom and it distracts the eye away from the whole outfit, so a colored shirt is almost necessary.
For your hair, your best bet would be to invest in a wig. They are absolutely amazing, and if you invest in a good one, you'll get a lot of use out of it.

I would straighten your hair to reduce the waviness, curl the ends, and put bows in it.

I agree with samurai_yuna but if you want a wig this one is good. http://www.amphigory.com/wigs_innocent.html

I'm sorry - I put up the wrong picture; you have me mixed up with my friend. ^^;; It's fixed now.
But yeah.. I don't have time to order a wig - the convention is this weekend and about 4 days from now.. all I have to work with is my own hair. But thanks for the link anyway because I have been thinking of buying me one when I get the money.
I guess your right about the corset and blouse, TeddyBearNarcs. The outfit honestly seemed bland to me in the first place but I didn't exactly know what was wrong. So I guess I'll seriously start on that t-shirt then. So much work to do in such a short time, I swear! I'm such a procrastor sometimes.
But I have another question about what you said about it being fruitsy; Does that mean that my entire outfit is going to be fruitsy? It has the same shape as a loli skirt would so would it at least be casual decora lolita? I hope that question isn't confusing. Lolita can be broken down in so many catagories, I just don't want to be walking around saying I'm some type of lolita and be wrong. >_<;;

Haha! I'm such a procrastinator too... I've been on that ship many-a-time... I'm practically the captain! :D
Hm. Well, I guess if you wore it with a t-shirt it could be casual decora rather than fruits ((as fruits is a little more crazy and eccentric than most)). As long as you don't do crazy makeup and wear rainbow bracelets and striped rainbow socks, you'll be good!
As for your hair... Do you have a headdress or a mini-hat? If not, I think you should put one together fairly quickly... Then, try and curl the hair in the back - that'd look cute, I think. ^_^

Checking up on this thread! ^^
Hair: Since it IS already straight I say just put some cute little barrets in it, and be done with it. It WILL look cute
I think your outfit it more fruitsy, I'd just go to a thrift store and find a matching skirt. Fruits would be a cuter style for you in my opnion! ^^

Thanks for your help everyone, you were a big help. But ended up wearing just the corset and skirt and adding lots of rainbow assesories going decora-ero inspired lolita. I was almost finished with the top but then I left some of the things I had to sew on it at home!! I was so sad - but was still a cute outfit! Everyone loved it. And my hair was uber cute!! Its in my gallery if you would like to see it and I'm planning on taking pictures with the t-shirt when I can.
