I'm building a plushie type costume, and everything is fine except the head. I have a general idea of chicken wire and sort but any help is great.
Also a major question, how does one see out of the costume? This one's been baffling me for awhile.
Any help is apreciated.

If ur going to use chicken wire you basically need to make the shape of the head with the chicken wire, line it with padding on the inside and whatever plushie fur ur using on the outside. I'd make sure to have alot of padding/make a foam collar for the neck so u can wear the head comfortably and also make sure the neck will support the head so the top of ur head isn't holding the frame's weight. For seeing cut holes in the padding, chicken wire, and fur where the eyes are and put mesh that blends with the costume. Hope that helps!

I'd advise you to go with foam rather than chicken wire, as it can take more punishment and doesn't have the pointy-bits-of-wire hazard. You can either use hard foam or soft upholstery foam. (hard foam is what professional mascot-makers use) Glue a few blocks together until you have one large block which you can carve into the shape of your head. Then hollow it out and put a hockey helmet inside so it'll stay secure on your head. You can either sew or hot-glue fur to the outside.
Don't forget to put in an air vent (usually at the back of the head, ideally with a small battery-operated fan) to keep you from overheating. You can spray-paint mesh to match with the colour of the costume and use it to cover the air vent and the vision holes.

Thank you, its actually a big help. Also trying create a ventalation system for the use, and also a cd player, maybe a subwoofer, and maybe glowing lights, but thats the easy part.
Thanks all, and Sarcasm hime, that tutorial really helps.

Yup, foam is the best way to go (in my opinion; it worked really well for me). I used minicell foam (found inside of kayaks) and you can cut it well with a knife. Only prob is it's black so it gets a little hot and shows through thinner fabric But otherwise, I recommend it! You just need to glue some pieces together as the foam comes in long somewhat thick sheets.
