I'hv seen a few differnt gothic lolita and cosplay books around and they all have patterns incuded, but their all in japanese. Well I found a guide on how to use and read them and I wanted to share it with use guys, so hear it us

This is a great guide. Luckily I can read katakana and some of the kanji so thus far the only difficulty I've had is with some of the fabrics used. And I worked out gumtape was actually elastic!!
The drafting of the pattern pieces was really interesting and is apparently the same thing that patterns used to do in Victorian times. This handout didn't really go itno that a great deal, however with careful following of the pattern diagrams in the magazine it is relatively easy to create the pieces you need.
And another tip - always do a mockup. Get some $1 per metre cotton and make it fit you first before cutting into your expensive stuff.

i am thinking of doing my first EGL crossplay... i can read kanji, hiri and kata... thanks for the reference... cant wait to get started..

Ahhh, my computer is super-old and doesn't support .pdf files, could someone please please please do screencaps or something?
