While I have found other parisols on other sites, I've found them to be eiter:
a. grossly overpriced
or
b. from an overseas shop.

So does anyone know where I can purchase parisols for a reasonable price??

Maybe in a wedding store? But I don't know the price... Maybe on eBay?

If you are near Disneyland or Disney World, they sell solid colored parasols there in a variety of colors for around $26.

There is a store in seattle, WA that sells them. they have solid colors (white, red, black, pink) and they have white lace ones. I think they look really cute and they are only $18.00. If you aren't near the area I could possibly pick one up for you and ship it to your house.
hope you find somthing that works!

That sounds wonderful, I live in Indiana so sadly I am not in the area. However, can I send you some money next month for the parisols plus shipping and you pick up two for me? I would be very very greatful!

I would love to get you parisols! pm me with what colors would you want, and your address.

I will post the address so those of you who are going there yourselves can easily map quest it... sadly I don't know what it is at the moment... so it will be in a few days. *sorry* I believe it is called display and costume, and the parisols are in the back left hand corner with all the spiffy fabric *drools*. the lace parisols are the third isle from the door with the wedding stuff.

i was wondering what type of parasol is best. Satin? Lace? a little of both? i just don't want it to look out of place with the outfit.

Heh I would actually go with neither. Unless it's a very matte satin, shiny things look out of place with loli. And lace to me just doesn't look nice.

Does anyone have an expirence with the black satin parasol (http://www.frankelcostume.com/proddetail.php?prod=2300t%2Fblk) on the site Meiki pointed to? I'm curious for one how shiny it is, and how good of quality is it? (Such as, locking mechanisms, and if it is studry enough to use as a cane.) Also, any experince with the company? Any other recommendations for a farirly cheap black parasol that can be found online?

Hijacking the topic a little, but whatever. ^-^;;

so what kind do you suggest? As long as the satin isn't shiny, it's fine.

to tell you the truth i been to that place before. its not a company, more of a costume warehouse where you can go inside and buy the stuff.
they have a nice selction of stuff they sell, including make-up but i didnt remember they sell parasols. I will go and check it out this weekend and see how well they are up close. Ill tell you what happens becuase i need a blue parasol.

I've ordered a pair of wings and a wig from them. Both times they shipped fast, but that's because I'm just south of houston (but either way, shipping shouldn't be a worry). The wig was rather good quality, considering the price. It turned into my Yachiru wig, which is still working wonderfully to this day.

try online costume shoppes....like this:
http://www.costumeshopper.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=costumes&Product_Code=fm51670
or:
http://alexanderscostumes.com/store/parasol-p-1411.html

If I recall, also, one of the major pattern companies (McCalls, I think?) has started making a parasol pattern, if you desired to alter your pre-made parasol.
I've tried making one from scratch and it was awful...but altering a pre-made is pretty simple.

Actually Metamorphose has some very reasonably priced parasols, catching them in stock + shipping is the hard part, but they're worth it because of the UV protection and can also be used as umbrellas. :3

Only 5 in stock! I just got one of the heart swan ones. http://www.simplelife.to/CART5/eindex.cgi?id=132e2118&w2=52

I was just about to suggest Meta's parasols. I have two of them, and I am very happy with both of them. They do sell out kindof quickly though, but I recommend them highly. Shipping is really fast too, I often receive my items within three days of placing the order.

I happened to see that today! they're covered in ribbons and lace! If I was big into lolita stuff I'd definately look into it!

Bridal supply stores are good.

We've got this store where I live that sells a bit of everything, and their bridal aisle has a fantastic lace parasol.

-shudder- Lace parasols? Not.. the best choice, they tend to look cheap.
Baby, The Stars Shine Bright, Meamorphose, Angelic Pretty, Innocent World and pretty much ALL brand names carry reliable parasols that double as umbrellas, so you'd save money if you're looking for one to last a long time. They usually go from 20 dollars to about fifty or sixty dollars for better uality ones.

While trying to attempt a lolita dress for this year anime con and finding that I needed to do a lot more work than I did for my outfit, I came across several websites that sell lace/sun parasols. They are a bit expensive but these are quality made and will last for a number of years.

Lace Parasol Website 1 (http://www.lace-parasols.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=lace&Category_Code=parasols)

Lace Parasol Website 2 (http://www.battenburglace.com/parasol_pa_style.htm)

Both are worth checking out and worth the investment in my opinion.

You know, I needed a parasol for my lolita that I am doing. I went to alexanderscostumes.com and got one from there. Only $7.95 not including shipping, it got to my house really fast and it was perfect. Not too big and not too small. They have multiple colors and you can jazz it up with your own details...highly recommended
