My mother, who is a very accomplished heirloom seamstress, has agreed to help me design and sew an amaloli dress. However, we know that the lace can be quite expensive, and I wondered if anyone knew of any sites or chain stores that might sell decently-priced heirloom-quality lace in white or possibly cream.

Try Cheeptrims (http://www.cheeptrims.com)-- I've never ordered from them personally, but their prices are reasonable and many costumers have recommended them.

I ordered from Cheeptrims last year, and I love everything I got. However, I just want to point out, since it's not plastered all over the site, that you do need a minimum order amount of $65.

Ooh! Thanks for making us aware of that, Bunnybeth. Penny hates minimum orders... it's not so "cheep" when you're scrambling to fill your cart with $65 worth of stuff just to get what you actually need.

So that bit of info is true? x_x I can't wait until I get a job so I can do a group order... I can't afford that much as of now XD

I needed 50 yards of lace, so it wasn't hard for me to make up the minimum on my own, even though I got more lace than I could shake a stick at when all was said and done. (Still have about 300 yards left... if you need 1 1/4" light pink lace, just ask. ;) )
I think they're a wholesale site, which is why they have that $65 minimum.

Those links are amazing. I love the venice appliques. I think I could easily spend $65 on lace without trying on either of those sites....

first of all, I am sorry to dig old topic up. But I would like to ask that if somebody knows more trust worthy online shops to buy lace?

More trustworthy? What do you mean by that? I haven't had any problems with Lace Heaven; they shipped fast and the eyelet lace was quite nice. Not amazing quality (nothing like Swiss embroidered eyelet) but it was decent. You can try Martha Pullen, which has lace for heirloom sewing, but some nice eyelets and French lace, but they are quite a bit more expensive. I'm not sure what her website is, but you can probably google it.

sorry I placed my words in wrong way. I ment more shops that are good and which you can trust on (I would be making "over seas" order)
And found that shop that you mentioned, thank you
