I'm hoping to do a wa-loli cosplay at Otakon. It'll be black satin with gold lillies and an ivory obe and my current gold/blonde hair (feel free to tell me what you think of this color combo as well as my question). My petticoat is white, but the main color, as I said, is black. I don't think it'll really show at all, but what are your thoughts on matching petticoats. What if mine was red XD?

I don't think anyone's going to poo-poo you for using a white petticoat-- white is one of those all-purpose colors. Black might blend a little better, but like I said, it's not a major malfunction. If you could get it closer to an ivory tone to match the obi, that might be cute.

Personally I like matching. No, I love matching. As I said, though, work with what you've got, act like it's supposed to be that way, and no one will be the wiser.

Is your petticoat suposed to show? Or is it the same length of your skirt?

Well.. I usually love to match things, but I love white petticoats. No matter what color skirt I'm wearing, I have to wear a white petticoat. For some reason, it just looks adorable to me.. ^^;
