I'm trying to find boots for a gothloli tea party (my first), but I've had a dreadful time finding anything that I like. Should Ijsut bite the bullet and go to Hot Topic, or should I keep on looking? I'd like a pair that of black leather platforms, and I don't have enough time before the tea party to buy them online.
(Edit) Erm, the tea party is over now, but I'm still looking for boots. Online sources would be incredibly welcome too! ^_^V

then i just might have to buy them from hot topic. i've been looking for some platform wedge boots and i can only find them online. i can't think of another store that sell gothic boots. target started carrying some boots now for the fall season.(but they're not really gothic) but it doesnt hurt to check them out.
you can also check out some thrift stores. i've seen some platform boots and shoes there before but i can never find some in my size:lost:

I would just go to hot topic if you are on a time limit because you know they are going to have them, if you want to try until the last minute though you can try checking out as many thrift stores as you can find or if you have stores like beyond the limit, medusa's circle, the alley etc. by you (i'm in chicago I don't know where you are lol) they would probably carry something also torrid is run by the same company as hot topic and sometimes carries boots.
Also it may be a long shoot (and I don't know if you are old enough to get in or are as shameless as I am lol) but you could try an "adult" store, there would probably be some shoes in the fetish section that could work, I'm sure there are plenty in your area just search online.

Another shoe question-- where might I be able to find green mary-janes or other lolita-style shoes? They need to be either bright green or lime green. If not green, I'll take dyeable white shoes or white leather shoes that can be painted. Affordability is a plus-- I really can't be blowing $97 on costume shoes at this point.
I've been looking all over the place but can't seem to find the right combination of color and style.

try here (http://www.natashascafe.com/html/shoes.html)
If you click on the green shoe there is a lime green shoe there, it is a flat mary jane though like the ones you would find in a local chinatown =)
i'd look on ebay for some more traditional mary janes though

Hot Topic isn't the only place to find cool boots. Actually, I bought my favorite pair of black boots at Sears. (I'm not kidding. I actually got goth loli boots at SEARS!) They're knee high and lace up. They're almost combat boots, but with a hint of goth loli, and that's why I love them. <333 Just look in obscure places, and you'll be amazed at what you'll find.

I got my all time favorite boots at JcPenny's. They're made by Mudd and weren't uber expensive.

I don't know about regions or what not, but if you know of a DSW... oh man I love it there. I go to the one in Boston. Three floors of SHOES!

Ooh, DSW. Ours is always so crowded there are angry women in season-old Manolos fighting over parking spaces. I should try and get myself in there one of these days... they always have some quirky styles.

I usually don't like buying expensive things; ie, shoes from Hot Topic. I end up finding boots and other shoes that I LOVE at places like Payless or Target/Walmart. Target has a *really* nice pair of Victorian style boots that I wanna get so bad. ;___;

For those of you who are interested in cheap lolita shoes, Montreal has some really great knock-off shoes. I have heard the quality is great and the price is outrageously low. (Think up to forty dollar shoes versus two hundred or so if you buy them brand.)

All you have to do is pick your size, the color of your shoe, and email her back at esther_ho8888@hotmail.com. She is very prompt and reliable.

I'll be getting those soon, so if you guys want I can make a review when I get them.

Awesome-- when you review them, could you mention whether they're leather or synthetic? The shoes are adorable anyway, but if I could find a white leather pair it'd definitely be worth my money.
