View Full Version : Another newbie question.

I'm fairly new to the whole lolita fashion, as in I haven't made anything yet. I have been doing some reading and looking at different styles. I see a lot of girls in their teens and early twenties that are lolita, which is understandable, but I was wondering how old would be considered 'too old' to dress lolita?

Now I'm sure there isn't a set age, but there also has to be an age where you stop and say, "She's too old to be wearing someting like that." And that goes with any sort of fashion, really. So I was wondering, in general, what that would be for the lolita style.

I know, it's a silly question, but I just had to ask.

Lol, I asked that question myself when I started looking into loli type fashion...in fact I started a thread about it on lolitasnap...

Hopefully this helps answer your question.

There were a lot of really young girls on there. :bigcry: But there were a few people that were in their 30's or somewhat close.

I'm 25, which is why I asked, but a lot of people say I look like I just came out of high school. The only thing that gives it away is my height, but I think I can get away with it anyway.

Thank you for the link! It helped.

Tehe. As long as you look young, it's all good ^^ When you start looking older though, that's when you start wearing the Aristocrat clothing more.

If that was said or covered in the thread... sorry. I just woke up and I'm too tired to read the whole thing =_=

Did anyone find it odd that there were 11 and 10 year olds on that forum? That just seems so... young! hehe i dont mean this in an offensive way, i was just surprised to hear of such young lolis... I dont know why i was surprised maybe i shouldn't have been? is this a common age?

I would think a common age to start getting into lolita would be around 14 or 15. But whatever...younger girls do look lovely as lolitas also, and lolita is definitely not a slutty style.

I wish I had gotten into lolita when I was younger, though...I'm 19. OK, I'm young, but I think that by the time I turn 30 I'll switch over to EGA. But who knows...lolita is just so cute!!!

I'm 24 and just getting into loli. My body type isn't suited to little girl ruffles and bows to begin with, but I also think it's a little silly and possibly slightly perverse to have someone my age dressing up like a baby doll.

I'd agree with DeathOfSoul that you don't necessarily have to stop wearing lolita fashions as you age, but the styles should be modified to be more sophisticated and befitting a more mature person.
